  1. Not AS crazy... a Grand National near my house sold for around 50k within the last year.
  2. Does your very back passenger-side plug sit above the exhaust where you have to WEDGE your forearm between the Y and the K-member to get at the plug, while still not actually SEEING the plug, just feeling? That's exactly how it is in my LT1 Trans Am. Straight up hell... I can do it alot faster though (relatively) now than the first time.
  3. Lots of times you can actually buy brighter green LEDs than any other color, not that that is useful for THIS. And you should be able to find whites just as bright as reds... both around 10,000mcd can be found. Here are some bright ones. This site is a very good LED source.. used to use them for non-car projects... http://www.eled.com/%5CSearchResult.asp?wavelengthlogic=%3D&wavelength=&viewinganglelogic=%3D&viewingangle=&LuminousIntensitylogic=%3E&LuminousIntensity=2800&chk5mm=ON&Search=Search&CategoryName=Mega+Bright+LED
  4. Sweet. Idk why I thought it had to be less. What effect, if any, will adding Tokico Blues have?
  5. Cuz I thought I heard 225 wide would fit stock... but wider would definately be good when I get my LT1 in a Datsun... and I was wondering if anyone has run M/T ET Streets on a stock Z.
  6. On a Z w/ stock suspension and rolled fenders... how wide and tall can your tires go without rubbing?
  7. Hopefully I don't get torched for asking... when people talk about tires that will fit on a stock body... is that the biggest that will fit w/o rubbing the coils AND w/o sticking out on the side? Like are people saying you COULD go alot wider, if you were ok with it sticking out?

  9. If you are referring to bypassing the coolant flow through the throttle body... you can do that easily for about $5 all local pieces. I did that on my T/A. Some LT1s dyno as high as 6hp higher, depending on your temperature conditions. There is NO reason to NOT bypass it at all. It was originally designed to keep the throttle body from getting TOO cold and sealing shut in the winter. You WILL NOT have that problem, I would say, anywhere in the US (with the exception, perhaps, of alaska). I will post pics from F-body forums...
  10. Definately doable. I know of guys with turbo setups in their LT1 and LS1 F-Bodies.. if it can fit in an F-BODY... it can fit in a datsun.
  11. How much was the price if you don't mind?
  12. DITTO. I HATE exhaust tips sticking out much past the bumper at all. Sick. My T/A was just dumped behind the axle even. Love it. Looks good man, can't wait to see more.
  13. Uhmm.. engine hoist. No, I don't have one. My roommate has one somewhere that he said I could use this summer, but idk if I'd have that from him for at least a couple more weeks when school gets out. I can ask him about it.
  14. CC-TN-221XL Comp Cams TN221XL Camshaft 221/227 duration @ .050", .542"/.560" lift with 1.6 rockers, 112lsa. Excellent cam for stock displacement naturally aspirated cars. Excellent power range, with both good torque and horsepower. $255.70 I'm not against hotcams, but being from the f-body crowd, I know alot of guys use hotcams before realizing there are often more powerful cams that are still very controllable and streetable. All preference though, I'm stock cam atm.
  15. Did you do the valvetrain work yourself? If so... why the hotcam?
  16. Post progress pics during the job!
  17. Final verdict... looks like a total. Adjuster said that as far as he could tell, more than about 4500 would be a total... and he already calculated about 6500 parts and labor. He said there may even be more damage, and that he didn't think the 6500 listed would even FIX it. He said there may be suspension damage that he can't see... possibly more frame tweaking than is visible, and he didn't even notice damage to my dash from the bags until AFTER he calc'ed everything else. Looks like maybe a $700 beater and a datsun in my future. May work out best; if I had fixed my TA, my insurance prolly would have gone so high I'd have to sell any way. I'll jsut pull the motor and tranny, part out everything else locally (lots of TA/Firebird/Camaro guys here). I'll try to find a cheap datsun project car and pick up a late 80s honda or soemthin too. If I can insure myself as the primary with just liability on the beater, I should be able to get really cheap specialty car insurance on the Datsun, right?
  18. Yeah maybe so. Are Z's cheap or pricey for insurance... being so old? I mean if I were to insure a Z as my primary and my TA as a low-mile "pleasure vehicle" as mentioned above.
