  1. was it the black one, or the primered gray one with the holley 390 carb?
  2. visual appeal. dual exhaust pipes are stock
  3. stock vs. aftermarket me on the right bolting the assembly together The car's quick once it's moving, but off the line it's very difficult to get a good launch. Wheel hop is a major issue too, even though he's stiffened the motormounts.
  4. The biggest disadvantage to the srt4 is fwd. It has no traction. Not in first, and most of 2nd. It just spins tires and doesn't catch. Stock 205 tires don't really help either.
  5. This coming from a guy who wants to hop up a 1.8L fwd subaru that gets smoked by kias? We just put a 3" SS exhaust on his srt4, and he's in process of putting on remnants of the stage 2 kit. So, a factory backed car making over ~300hp at the crank that costs 20k isn't impressive, right? His is now probably putting down somewhere around ~250whp. Wait until DC decides to release the razor. That motor + 6 speed + rwd, weighing 2500lbs.
  6. Wait, I have that whole article scanned, probably in better quality. I'll check when I get home.
  7. one should also note that with any Z coilover setup, you still have to grind off the perches and weld on new support rings, so there's still welding required.
  8. I can't run stock oil metering pump because my EMS doesn't support it.
  9. http://surplusrifle.com/ look on there, there's an article on how to strip and refinish a mosin nagant m44 rifle - pretty straight forward. if i can do it, so can you. I used 150 grit, 200, 240, 300, 400 grit sand paper, and steel wool. After I stained it and coated it with urethane, I steelwooled it when it was all dry.
  10. j-bodies never had a 2.8 v6. late 80s to early 90s had 3.1L v6s that came in berettas and luminas. Newer models had the 2.2L ecotec and 2.4L that came in the Z24s, and now they're all 2.2L
  11. http://www.compfused.com/directlink/230/ although... he's got no arms. Double def leppard style
  12. Look for "How to hotrod and race your datsun", it will have excellent pics of proper BRE rollcages in it, and tell you how to tie them into the frame
  13. those setups don't exist as bolt ons for the Z. you're limited to: 1. GC 2. Modern Motorsports 3. make your own 4. arizona z-car 5. msa
  14. That would be Mt. Shasta
  15. Tim, Aerosmith doesn't solve road rage. Heavy psychedelics, however, do.
  16. redneck style http://www.josephthompson.net/austin/
  17. yeah, I did. I didn't use oven cleaner: i used citrustrip, then soaked it in hot water to remove all the dents, and dried it out, and stained it with dark walnut, and coated with urethane satin coating.
  18. That's a good deal. Cheapest I've seen a 98K ('45 yugo make, really well built) was $149. Wanna buy me one and ship it?
  19. the Junkman (horrid) has a 280zx being ripped in half

  21. Hi all, In case you are wondering, the web site is down for maintenance. Hopefully the mailing list is still working and you see this. I am working on the problems and if we have any Linux gurus available please send me a reply. In case you're wondering, I decided to perform some system upgrades at the operating system level and other programs (like our web server) didn't like it. My plans include performing a system-wide reinstall but it would be nice to get the web server (apache) going again. If some of you could reply to let me know that our list is working, it would be appreciated.
