  1. 1. don't take out stub axles unless you absolutely have to and plan on changing your bearings while you're at it. 2. you don't need to disconnect and remove the spindles joining the struts to the a-arms. it can come out as one assembly on each side. 3. take out control arms/ strut assembly first, support the diff. with a jack where the front mount goes, because that crossmember has to come out, and then you can easily drop the differential with halfshafts still attached. 4. watch for brake fluid and also replace your brake lines while you're at it. as well as mustache bar bushings.
  2. ya, that's why I'm waiting to get my issue (which ain't here yet). So I can gloat at my picture in a magazine Today, SportZ magazine, tomorrow... IMPORT TUNER!!!!!!!!!!!!! (just kidding)
  3. So why didn't you say that? Call the guy's supervisor if he's not compliant. Did the other driver state that he struck your car? Is there shown damage or paint chips from your car on their bumper?
  4. Obi Wan goes shopping for a new car, this is pretty damn funny! http://www.whiterose.net/~spoony/Dead_Ringers-Star_Wars.wmv
  5. DETROIT -- General Motors Corp. introduced the latest design concept for its trendy Hummer nameplate on Tuesday, a midsize pickup with a touch of the Nike swoosh. The Hummer H3T will be on display at the Greater Los Angeles Auto Show later this month. At present, the H3T is a design showpiece not scheduled for mass production. It could eventually join Hummer's lineup of hulking sport utility vehicles. The H3T features a pickup box with side-access doors and a power-operated folding canvas sunroof and drop-down rear window to offer open-air driving. GM and designers from sports apparel giant Nike Inc. collaborated on several aspects of the vehicle, including its tires and seats. The H3T's seats incorporate lightweight material used in Nike clothing that can cool or warm the body without mechanics. The H3T is built on a modified GM midsize truck platform and powered by a 350-horsepower, five-cylinder turbocharged engine. The H3T would join the H1 and H2 SUVs and the H2 SUT, which has the features of both a large pickup and an SUV. With a mix of muscle and sizzle, the Hummer has become America's new status ride, attracting celebrities and athletes who aren't bothered by its steep sticker price and gas mileage that barely rises above single digits. The H1's price starts at about $105,000, the H2 at roughly $50,000. Pricing for the H2 SUT, which goes on sale next summer, has yet to be announced. Through November, GM reported 31,447 total Hummer sales, nearly double what they were at the same point last year. But the Hummer also has its critics, such as the Sierra Club, which faults the vehicle for its bulk and poor gas milage. http://www.ajc.com/business/content/business/1203/10hummer.html

  7. you know what's worse? when you're the mechanic AND the computer fix it geek
  8. Sucks to hear about the accident, I was in one a year ago. My Z is a weekend driver, and it got plowed into on the weekend. I was going straight when some tard turned in front of me (oncoming traffic) and i had to swerve to avoid him, but not enough time was given. I totalled my headlight bucket, bumper, fender, spindle, rim got hit, balljoint, tie rod, etc. side note: if you're not crazy about those mirrors, let me know, I probably want them
  9. the coilovers themselves cost $400 new from either modern performance or ground control. Downside is that camber plates are preset to 4 positions, so they're not fully adjustable. The benefit is that they don't require cutting into the strut tower housings to put them in. Regular plates require cut/weld in, or cutting of the strut tower to bolt them in. Ground control doesn't list their camber plates anymore, but I remember they were 300/pair, so, 900 vs. 1000 bucks from ground control. If you NEED camber plates on all 4 corners, sounds like MSA is a better deal. Find out how much MSA is selling JUST those camber plates for, and if they're cheaper than 240/pair, then go with MSA's camber plates and coilovers from elsewhere. Also MSA's shipping charges are going to be expensive.

    Generic Muffler

it will probably sound like ass, and collect water when it rains. I hate "DTM Style" exhaust tips. It's also too big and unnecessary for a straight 6 motor.
  11. it's cool, I have a subscription now, I should be getting a copy this week
  12. get a buddy, jack up the car, fill up reservoir, have him pump the clutch as you release the bleed screw on the slave cyl for a second to dump pressure that built up. Keep doing and refilling (Make sure the reservoir DOES NOT run dry) until pedal has full feel back in it, and air's out of hte lines
  13. that's an r180: the diff. cover is too narrow to be an r200
  14. As long as it's not what you're spanking, I wanna read the article
  15. well, the fact that he replied with a smiley, and his profile has http://www.green260z.com listed was a good indicator

  17. i'm playing need for speed: underground. you get extra points for almost getting into a headon collission, uncontrollably fishtailing (er, called "powerslide" in the game) and.... "drafting" if you tuck in behind the other ricer. Also, you can't get into some races because you don't have enough ricey underglow on your car. seriously.
