  1. I haven't built the second one yet (i screwed up the thread angle on the cap), but the one I did make spins true on a flat surface and ceiling circle is almost non existent
  2. I made my own using this post as a guide. Instead of laser pointers (which I found to usually be misaligned) I opted to use laser bore sighters made for sighting in scopes on rifles. I purchased this 20 ga brass bore sighter for $10 on amazon (http://amzn.com/B002OPC7GE) and used the magnet bases 7222 and 7223 listed above. Magnet, boresighter, and batteries: boresighter brass base. Remove plastic cap and spring that's normally attached to it: Drilled through (use aluminum an blocks or similar to prevent damage and warping to brass) Tapped for M8x1.25: Attached to base with an m8 x1.25 bolt: Then just put batteries in, twist until it's on, and voila: Crappy test run:

  4. Yep, definitely same guy. My pics from August 2001.
  5. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/cto/3829377764.html I watched this guy race at Sacramento raceway about 12-13 years ago.
  6. Picked this up today: 2009 Bandit GSF1250sa, 1250cc, ABS, full luggage (i took side cases off for the trip home). This has... a lot of torque. In any gear. And it's whisper quiet. Too quiet.
  7. I like how the wrecked Z is a 2+2, and when it gets fixed up, it's a 240z.
  8. Thanks guys. Been out of the Z game for a while, and now I'm starting to get back in because frankly, I am tired of not having a running Z for 9 years now. I am debating if I want to get the summit universal harness, because I would like to rewire everything once, and not have to deal with electrical gremlins later. I also can't find my camaro fuse box...I may have forgotten to pull that when I got rid of the car..
  9. So they made you a harness hybrid out of LS1 and datsun harnesses? (just clarifying). I'll look them up!
  10. Have you guys seen the LSX harness from summit? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-890122/overview/ Now, I'm not sure if this is just the engine and sensor/ecu harness, and requires the use of a regular harness for turn signals, lights, etc. Or if this is a complete unit that replaces the OEM LS harness AND can replace the stock datsun harness? ( From the picture shown, I'd guess it's sensor/ecu harness only, and still requires $$ for the rest of the wiring. ) It's pricey, so if it handles both, that's a fantastic way of saving a lot of time. I have a complete LS1 harness and ECU, and I was originally planning on getting this universal harness: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-890021/overview/ to replace the original datsun wiring, and mate it with the camaro harness that I have. Now, my lights all worked before, etc, but I'd ideally like to do this whole thing once, and do it correctly. What say you, HBZ?
  11. sure! http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/build-projects-and-project-cars/3-pedal-mafias-24-hours-of-lemons-rolls-royce-silver-shadow/59120/page1/
  12. Bots are now parsing indirect emails: "Yes ~ I'll be able to help with the required item(s) listed in your advert. Kindly send me an e-mail with a list of what you require ifyou are still interested in the purchase. What's your phone number?Best Regards,William Morris2 Cheapside, Shildon, County Durham DL4 2HW, United Kingdom."
  13. Hey guys, If anyone has a rotisserie that they no longer need for a Z around the bay, I am interested. Let me know what you want for it, where you are, and we can work something out. Send me a PM, or email at: z at datsun racing period com I'd like to speed things up and get a functional one, rather than build my own. Thanks!
  14. 6.2L, 450hp @ 6000rpm, 450ft lbs torgue, this will be the engine in the base C7 2014 corvette. It has direct injection, sodium filled valves, cylinder deactivation, and GM says it'll get 26mpg CITY. http://www.topspeed.com/cars/car-news/chevrolet-introduces-the-all-new-lt1-v8-engine-for-the-c7-corvette-ar136830.html
  15. clutch: 54 tula. and yes, that's an unconverted saiga in 7.62x39, 16.5" barrel, with BP02 scope mount
  16. Oh, I wouldn't call BS on IDF 98k, I've seen them before
  17. rest of the stuff. not pictured are ruger 10/22, marlin m99a1, taurus pt92
  18. I see : a russian SKS, 91/30 norinco sks (needle bayonet) yugo sks with grenade launcher camo sks is a yugo 59/66? or a russian, can't tell. garand yugo mauser? springfield xd45? the little guy looks like a bersa .30 cal? can't tell.
  19. Kiwi, I'm like that, but with Russian Mosin rifles. Have an M44, M91/59, Finnish 1942 VKT M39 with original sling, 91/30 with a turndown bolt.
  20. If memory serves, the toyota 4 liter v8 from sc400/ls400 is the exact same way
  21. You may want to post this in for sale/trade section of the forum.
  22. clutchdust: no disagreements. I have a '54 russian SKS, 4 mosins (1 of them is a finnish m39), and a saiga (AK variant).
  23. SKSs are excellent rifles. More accurate than AKs, just as reliable, and I favor stripper clips vs. magazines. $167 after tax/dros for the lower $66 for lower parts kit (single stage trigger, pistol grip) $20 california compliant bullet button $114 for magpull stock and buffer tube/spring. $300 Stag 4h complete upper from a friend (he had it sitting new in box, normal price is $560) $40 for 2 10-round pinned magazines. So just around $730 or so. You can buy a new Smith & Wesson MP-15 from buds gunshop for about $620, which is a really good deal
