  1. Some interesting results on this plenum shape used on my coming 2JZ: http://forums.hybridz.org/showpost.php?p=922376&postcount=11 Justin
  2. Here are some initial results for the REV 2 plenum flowed at 25" H20 with runners going down to factory port size. There is flow left on the table hear having the runners neck down to the factory port cross section. Regards, Justin
  3. I'll just tell you guys straight out what the second design is made from: 48" CLR radius 3" mandrel bend 11 ga wall thickness (30 degree bend): http://www.globaltecheng.com/ProductCart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=65&idproduct=713 & 12" CLR 3" mandrel bend 11ga( 30degree bend) http://www.globaltecheng.com/ProductCart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=65&idproduct=689 & Sharpe Products 3" Aluminum Hemisphere http://www.thomasregister.com/olc/smartcat.aspx?az=73226961&advancedsearch=yes&bgcolor=FFFFFF&border=0&bordercolor=000000&cartlink=yes&columnsort=yes&counters=yes&email=yes&font=Arial%2c+Helvetica&fontsize=2&iwidth=200&linktext=Back&listsort=yes&orderimage=http%3a%2f%2fwww.thomasregister.com%2folc%2fccc%2fmm%2fcec_AddToCart_f01.gif&printpreview=yes&ptnolink=yes&rfqimage=http%3a%2f%2fwww.thomasregister.com%2folc%2fccc%2fmm%2fcec_AddToRFQ_f01.gif&show=part_number+part_name+Dia+unit_price&showdiscounts=no&stripecolor=B7C0BD&tablealign=left&tablewidth=99%25&textcolor=000000&type=details_order&rn=503144&template=http://www.sharpeproducts.com/temp.htm & 0.125" 6061 sheet metal & 3/4" 3" 11GA Aluminum tubing. Regards, Justin
  4. I'm sure you could modify the fuel tank for a larger outlet! I imagine you won't have much issue with 1200cc injectors on gas w/ sequential injections. They'd behave just like 600cc injectors batch fired. I'd go with RC's or these from racetronics: http://www.racetronix.com/INJL120.html If you want to borrow the tubing bender your more then welcome to it. I have a 1-5/8" die set for it Justin
  5. Well the stock sub frame connectors are 2" - 2.5" wide depending upon where you are measuring. I'm using 1" X 2" X 0.083" tubing to replace my frame rails. At the same time I'm replacing the floor pans with 18ga metal. I'm also doing a full cage, so you might want to go to thicker material on a non caged car. Justin
  6. Nice John! You could always put in larger injectors and lower your base fuel pressure if you start running out of fuel. What is your duty cycle on your current 550cc injectors? BTW, did you get a roll bar in your car? Justin
  7. This is the reason I had these custom flanges machined for the L28. Now I have 1.5" intake runners that are raised for a larger radius SSR. Justin
  8. I revised the plenum shape based on the CFD testing of the L28 manifold I modeled up. Here are some pictures.
  9. The manifold was run at 25" h20 I believe. I'm working on an alternative design using large radius thick walled mandrel bends. Justin
  10. MONZTER ran the above manifold in COSMOSFloWorks for me. Huge thanks to him for taking the time to run my design!!! It takes a lot of computing time to run these. I really appreciate it. I'm going to take some time and try and figure out what I should change based on these results. Pressure: Velocity: Regards, Justin
  11. Is the feed to the pump and vent on the cell good? If your pulling a vacuum on the cell that coudl hurt the pump performance. Justin
  12. Reminds me of the Family Guy Phallic Car Justin
  13. What fuel pump and base pressure are you running? I don't see how the split in the lines could be dropping fuel pressure for you. Once that volume is filled up it should remain filled and pressurized as long as the fuel pump is keeping up with the amount of fuel being consumed at high rpms. Justin
  14. I'm still working on the exterior of the car. I'm about down to bare metal on all the panels. My next question is how do I remove the paint between the vents in the cowl? Also, any recommendations on stripping paint in the door jams? Regards, Justin
  15. Thanks for the help! So it looks like you have to do a 5 lug swap if doing this swap with the R230 diff and axles since the 4 lug hubs have a different spline/size. Justin
  16. I have the 3" and 4" versions here. They measure ~0.13" wall thickness. Just fine for a plenum made out of 0.125" wall aluminum. Justin
  17. Just to clarify, you where able to use the same axels you original used wiht the Q45 R200? Justin
  18. Here is what I'm building for my L28 manifold. I wasn't unable to source a thick walled (0.125") bends for the leading edge of the plenum. I've used straight tubing instead. You can source the hemisphere for the end of the plenum from here: http://www.sharpeproducts.com/ball_hemispheres.htm Regards, Justin
  19. Great Work! Sounds great going down the track. Its funny hearing the RB go by with that huge hood scoop. Must confuse a lot of people expecting a V8 rumble. The nitrous really is a cool way to go because you'll end up with a more efficient converter on the big end! Justin
  20. Yeah, the car is sitting in my driveway on jack stands. I'm going to move it to my storage facility so that I have cover, but that means I won't work on the car as often. I've never seen the etching epoxy primer. I've found phosphoric etch and some spray can epoxy primer. I guess thats what I'll do Justin
  21. WD40 is what I had originally planed to use to seal the metal from getting rusty. I was told that if I want to paint the car down the road the penetrating lubricant part of WD40 would be troublesome to completely remove from the metal. What do you guys think? Justin
  22. So I'm going to redo my brake lines no my 280z. I'm planning on doing 3/16 stainless hard line. How many feet do I need to do the whole car? http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=SUM%2D220236&N=700+115&autoview=sku I want to do AN fittings throughout. So I need a 37 degree flare tool and a tubing bender: http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=SUM%2DCSUM2401&N=700+115&autoview=sku What fittings do I need to connect to my factory master cylinder? What fittings do I need to connect to my Toyota 4X4 S12+8 Calipers up front? (I will be changing these to Arizona Z car brakes in the near future when I have the funds) What fittings do I need for the back drums? (eekkk, I will be changing these to Arizona Z car brakes in the near future when I have the funds) What brand proportioning valve do you guys like? Regards, Justin
  23. I have the runners cut and all tacked up. I'm going to test fit the (head flange/runners/plenum base) this weekend and mock up a plenum out of cardboard. I have all the material along with the throttle body here or in the mail here. I should have the plenum mocked up by next saturday if my 3" tubing shows up by then. Justin
