  3. I'm not sure if my post was unclear. I wasn't stating that he should run the same wheel/tire setup that Greg Ira's running. I was just stating the tire size so he could see the fitment of them under the Subtle Z body kit. Giving stock fenders, what size wheels would give the best selection of slick sizes? 15X9? Justin

They are really limiting what wheels you can run.   8. If those Street flares where expoxied to the car I'd say go for it. I like those MSA street flares when they are molded on. Justin
  9. Ideal Gas Law should help your understanding of the relation of pressure and number of moles in the motor. PV=nRT P is the pressure (SI unit: pascal) V is the volume (SI unit: cubic meter) n is the number of moles of gas R is the ideal gas constant (SI: 8.3145 J/(mol K)) T is the thermodynamic temperature (SI unit: kelvin). If you double the pressure you will flow twice the moles of air(twice the amount of air). The problem is the intake temperatures aren't equal between NA and turbo motors. This also doesn't take into account the difference in reversion into the combustion chamber due to backpressure from the turbo. There are a lot of factors that will effect the power the motor actually makes.
  10. Garrett Cored Intercoolers are very good and can be had for that price. Look into Precision intercoolers. They use garrett cores and thick cast endtanks. Justin

When sizing a control valve you need to following information: Line Size (inlet and outlet size) Fluid Type (air) peak fluid flow Inlet pressure Acceptable pressure drop across valve With this information you come up with CV number that allows you to size your control valve. You find a valve that fits your application and flows your required CV at about 80% open. Generally control valves are sized smaller then line size to get good control. I will see if I can find some CV tables for butterfly valves to help with understanding. Having a cam on the throttle will help some in drivability, but isn't the end all solution to an oversized control valve. Justin
  12. Funny thing is that I size control valves at work for large industrial control systems. For a drag car like the honda above, I'd imagine there is very little throttle "modulation". Its likely 0% throttle at idle or 100% throttle when running down the drag strip. In this instance, there isn't a great deal of throttling required. There is likely enough traction since its a NA car to put all of its power down in every gear. The larger the throttle valve, the lower the pressure drop across the valve. What you lose by going to a huge valve is modulation. Driveability goes to pot when you go to a huge valve because at very small valve openings you are flowing tons of air. I size valves so that they flow 100% of the fluid at 80% of their percent open. This gives good control with resonable pressure drop. When you are dealing with a system that is just off or on, you can go to a huge valve because there isn't any modulation control issues. Justin
  13. Those tires have a very large diameter for a datsun. They are 26.6" tall. I would say you'd be better off going with a shorter tire. Here is what a 275/40-18 looks like with ZG flares. These are 26.6" tall as well.

  16. Here's a picture of Mikelly's car for reference which is running unsectioned struts, Ground Control camber plates up front and Arizona Z car camber plates in the rear. Koni 8610 inserts. Wheels are 18X9.5" with 275/40-18's. Hope you dont mind me listing the specs. I searched around and found them in various threads of yours.
