  1. How wide of tires do you think could go under the front with these flares? I'm trying to decide on a set of wheels and tires now. Justin
  2. Also, they have two types of flairs available. I bought the ones pictures above. They have another type of flare that are a bit different shape. I am waiting to see a picture out of there catalog. Jody, do you have a catalog handy that you could scan and post pictures?? Justin
  3. I went ahead and order a set of these flares. $59 for the front pair and $69 for the rear pair. $20 shipping out to oregon. Justin
  4. I'd be interested in a complete set of these MSA street flares if anyone has some sitting around. Justin
  5. Theres this beatiful lime green 240z that parks near my work downtown. I'll snap picture of if when I see it next. Justin
  6. Are those BUG flares? Looks sick. I love how everything fits together. Justin
  7. That motor is WIDE! I love that motor, but you could never do turbos on it with how tight the engin bay is. How much does this motor weigh? Justin
  8. Very cool, so I'll probably need a ring gear bolt kit and some shims to go along with this. Justin
  9. BTW, I found this endorsement from a honda vendor: http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1736877
  10. After reading through all of this, I'm a bit unsure if this is a bolt in differential for my 280z. Would I have to change anything other then the differential when doing this swap? BTW, for those that worry about the quality of this differential, I have a friend in UTAH (Cortney Green) making 800whp in a honda application on a OBX diff. Justin

  12. Just build custom headers that run out behind the front wheels(through the area where the factory batter is located and the same spot on the drivers side. The master cylinder and slave cylinder may need to be mounted inboard. Justin
  13. FIA padding looks like it would be the way to go: " SCCA, NASCAR and many other sanctioning bodies now require certified roll bar padding on any member of the cage that may come in contact with the helmet. They recommend it use on any member where the participant's body may have contact. Roll bar padding is not just roll bar padding. Tests have proven that roll bar padding plays a vital role in decreasing the potential of serious injury in crashes. All drivers should be surrounded with FIA Type A ,or SFI 45.1 Spec Approved Padding. FIA padding is thicker than SFI padding and can absorb about three times the impact." http://www.rallylights.com/BSCI/Roll_Cage_Padding.asp Another interesting link I found while search was a video of a crash test with and without a HANS device: http://english.schroth.com/engineering/versuch.php Man, I wouldn't want to wear a helmet without one. Justin
  14. How is a 240z with a full cage less safe then a new jeep wrangler? You have the same risks as that. I would think that high density foam would go a long way in a fullcage 240z. The only thing I can think of is the diameter of the roll bars in a jeep are larger then a standard cage, so there would be more padded tube area to distribute the impact over. This would lessen the peak force on your head in an accident. Justin
  15. 74_5.0L_Z, do you attach your harnesses to the rear horizontal bar that ties the strut tower together?
  16. What is the most comfortable non-reclining seat? Aluminum body or composite body? I really enjoy recaro SPG's in my friends car. Would that be the most comfortable daily driver race seat? Regards, Justin
  17. How well does high density foam work to protect a person not in a race seat with full harness from the roll cage? Even the above example 74_5.0L_Z's cage could break your ribs if you had a hard enough side impact that threw you into the door bars. Justin
  18. Its really interesting that 74_5.0L_Z's cage doesn't have A pillar bars. I really like that on a street car as visibility would be better. As Jon said, theres nothing to hit your head on. How much would you be giving up in terms of rigidity and roll over protect? Justin

  20. Thanks guys. I didn't realize there was a FAQ already. Regards, Justin
  21. I keep reading suspension threads from the past trying to learn more, but I find myself chin deep in acronyms that I dont know the definition to. You guys are as bad as engineers when it comes to talking about suspension. I would like people to define the acronyms used when talking about Z car suspension. Pictures of these parts would be great to help define everything as well. Thanks for you help. I hope I'm not the only person confused by all of these acronyms. Regards, Justin
  22. Whats the word on a G-Force T56? Seems like that is what you'd need for 1000hp with a manual box. http://www.gforcetransmissions.com/tran_gt-56.asp Justin
  23. MMM, someone in the states needs to sell some of these! Justin
  24. I'm looking at welding in a rear diff mount when I install the R230. Would I be shock loading the rear diff case too much if I solid mounted it to brakets welded to the chassis? Regards, Justin
