  1. Very cool, that should do just about everything you need to do. Post some pictures of your welds as you get started. I love to watch the progress people make in the first couple weeks. Justin
  2. The 1jz head can't use 2jz cams, and there aren't many cam options out there for the 1jz in the us. I dont really want to be taxe'd to hell buying cams. The ferrea valvetrain was designed for the 2jz head. There are slight differences between the 1jz and 2jz valvetrain along with the aftermarket intake manifolds and available. The inlet valves on the 1jz are smaller and it flows around 20 cfm less stock then the 2jz: http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=339560 http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=388408 Regards, Justin
  3. What kind of deal did you get on it? Its all about practice and its fun as hell!
  4. How much power is this car making and what does it weigh?
  5. I'm intersted in the R154 strength as well. I'm building a 2jz headed 1jz with a big turbo and ferrea valvetrain. The idea is to reliably rev to 10,000+rpm. Justin
  6. Can you put an LS1 in these first gen rx7's?
  7. I wouldn't want to be one of the motorcycle riders when that squirely 911 comes drifting past
  8. I think those Ebay sellers are selling them with R154 5 spds and w58 5spds(weak). If you do get one of ebay make sure its either the r154(5spd) or r160(6spd). Regards, Justin
  9. Saw that a couple days ago. I wanted it, but dont need another project car that doesn't run. Justin
  10. I would say start by getting comfortable moving the puddle on stainless steel. It is really easy to fuse stainless, so just take 2 pieces and but them together. Start your puddle and move down the seem. Once you can fuse together 2 pieces with good color, work on adding filler material to it. Stainless requires less heat then mild steel, and you have to move faster to get good color out of it. I'm no expert tho. Just practice a lot and post some pictures. Pictures are worth a thousand words as they say. Justin
  11. The metrenom sounds like a cool idea. I've just started this turbo header project for my audi 5 cylinder: Justin
  12. I love that turbo placement. I was actually designing a turbo header for my l28 the other day and think placing the turbo over in that area is about the best place to put it. Provides enough room for a nice turbo header! I just wish I didn't have the master and slave cylinder in the way. Have you dynoed or run the quater mile with the car? Justin
  13. I think these wheels will looks alot like this Z's:
  14. I'm buying all of the parts to swap over to 5 lug. I am purchasing a set of MB weapon 17X9 wheels front and rear. They are offered in 17mm and 27mm. I think 27 will fit best up front. Will they clear without spacers in the front? I will be doing ZG flares. http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/findWheelByBrandDetail.do;jsessionid=FBJFDV4Sb92L1c1T2y6DhW58Ym2wx918fsvzJCrgwLD4yxYQ84kT!-421345007!NONE?rc=ORPINT&wd=17&pc=53638&typ=&rcc=null&rw=9&bp=5-114.3 Front: 300zx hubs 300zx rotors ARP wheel studs toyota 4X4 calipers Coil overs with 8" springs New brake lines Rear: Drill Stub Axel for 5 lug 300zx rear rotors 5 lug ARP wheel studs 85-88 FWD Maxima Rear Caliper Flat Bracket- modified for S30 hub. 85-88 Maxima Calipers (similar to 240SX calipers) Coil overs with 8" springs Spacer?(What thickness will I need with 27mm offset?) New brake lines Regards, Justin
  15. So will a TH400 with a factory bell housing fit in the s30 trans tunnel?
  16. I would definitely go with a THERMAL ARC ARCMASTER 185. They just had a price increase in the last two weeks upto around $1950. This is the revised model from the thermal arc 185tsw. Regards, Justin
  17. Ouch, best of luck with the chromoly cage. Should be bad ass!
  18. I just posted those pictures off of his photobucket. Check out the craigslist post. I love those rear flares. They're HUGE.
  19. That manifold is using individual throttle bodies per cylinder. Something like that wouldn't be too difficult to fabricate if the throttle bodies could be sourced affordable. I would be willing to fabricate the plenums if people came up with a throttle body setup. Regards, Justin
  20. Anyone have a dyno chart of one of these above 7000rpm? Justin
  21. Very cool swap. After looking at your swap, its gotten me interested in this motor combo. I found the top 10 dyno charts of these motors here for those that haven't seen them: http://www.7mpower.com/top10.shtml I just wish someone did a solid lifter conversion so you could rev them higher. Justin
  22. I have a 77 280z that I'm working on fixing up and have taken off the big bulky bumpers. I'm looking at fitting metal 240z bumpers. I'm wondering if any companies sell replica 240z bumpers for a reasonable price. If not, am I best getting a used set and rechroming them? I found these from MSA, but I'd like metal bumpers: http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/CTGY/7BSA01 Regards, Justin
