  1. I really really like Maverick! Those fenders remind me a lot of the audi sport quattro:
  2. I want a wide and stubby front end. All of the wide body kits out there ruin the front of the car. Come up with something shorter(like stock length) but wide like the imsa and YZ flares. Regards, Justin
  3. Very cool, I want to see some roll race videos from 50-60. Does the car sound any different under load with the larger turbo? How about at idle?
  4. No worries, the rear end will be fine. With that power I wouldn't even worry about subframe connectors. Check out JNJ: http://www.jnjdragracing.com/
  5. Thats very nice. Does it have internal velocity stacks or atleast some grinding work to give a nice radius transition from the plenum to runner? Justin
  6. Yeah, I've decided that the L28 is going to stay for a while in my car. I need to learn how to drive and spend more of my money on the suspension and brakes of my car before I even think of more power. I'm just trying to make the most of what I have. I think I'll work on following Johns example. Regards, Justin
  7. Thats definitely a good idea. It wouldn't be too hard for me to make a shorter pan as far as welding goes. Its a matter of everything clearing in the crank case. I could add windage tray of my own making while I'm at it.
  8. I was doing some measuring in the engine bay last night and I'm planning on moving the engine back 3.5" On the todolist I have: Shorten driveshaft Z32 transmission with mazworx adapter custom engine mounts custom transmission mount longer radiator hoses new throttle linkage What else am I missing? My biggest concern is the placement of the shifter so that shifting is comfortable. Who around here as moved the engine back in there car? Regards, Justin
  9. I'm looking at getting a set of Ferrea oversized valves when i build my cylinder head. Here are the units I'm looking at: http://www.importperformanceparts.net/imports/ferreacompplus-nissan.html 45mm intake valves $21.50/valve 36mm exhaust valves $22.50/valve Anyone use these? How much combustion chamber work do you need to do to get these to flow nicely? Regards, Justin
  10. I think your setup is solid. I would try the nitrous before making a decision on the converter. You dont want to go to a loose loose converter if you still drive it long distances. It will definitely be a rocket once you get it sorted! Justin
  11. Damn, nice swap. Are you using the etp or factory ls7 heads? Regards, Justin
  12. The problem with the 4L80E is size and weight. Its a heavy transmission at over 150lbs. Plus converting it to a manual reverse valve body isn't exactly cheap. They are bullet proof, but really its not going to help Z Gad for this issue. He needs a little nitrous to make this work and be streetable. Justin
  13. How much weight did you add with the sound deadoning? Did you remove the factory sound deadoning before putting in the new stuff? Regards, Justin
  14. What clutch do you use with a 2jzgte engine and flywheel when using the R154 with 1jzgte bellhousing? Eventually I'll go TH400 in the car, but want to stay manual until its unreliable. Justin
  15. I move forward, stop, dip, forward, stop, dip. I dont really come to a complete stop tho, just slow down as I'm diping. I dont move in a zig zag unless it is a t joint or large bevel that I'm trying to get good penetration. If its a nice lap joint or butt joint I move straight along the seem, and make the puddle as big as I want with the amount of pedal and filler. Funny, my latest welds are getting much better. No sugaring (burn through) on the back side and pretty consistent bead size and color. I was talking to my welding instructor and he told me he can get me a job tigging stainless at $18 an hour at my current ability level. Pretty crazy to me since I've only been doing this 3 weeks. I'm just going to keep practicing and get better. Regards, Justin
  16. Wheres da nos? Have you had the convereted restalled
  17. Yeah, I use Ross Machinings oval runners and velocity stacks and -10 AN fuel rail extrusion on my audi intake manifolds:
  18. So how strong are the 5spd toyota transmissions? I'm looking at doing a 2jzgte swap, but can't find a 6spd to save myself. I want a good manual trans for fairly big powered streetcar. Regards, Justin
  19. Digressive valving means they cover a wide range? I've read JohnC talks about it, but what does that mean exactly? Regards, Justin
  20. Digressive valving means they cover a wide range? I've read JohnC talks about it, but what does that mean exactly? Regards, Justin
  21. John, did you ever have problems with the crankshaft at those Rpms on engine 1? Also, any change you have an engine dyno from either the chassis or engine dyno? Regards Justin
