  1. well damn... anybody have used set of the 16x7 panasports they want to sell? lol
  2. its my understanding that the wheels on the cars in the links below are a reproduction of older Z wheels http://www.sr240z.com/sr240z/sr240z.htm http://gallery.voodoo-people.com/album599 i was wondering where these wheels can be purchased at, specificly the offest of wheels that dosent need the fender lips..(the wheels on the bottom link) im debating whether or not i should do a 5 lug front conversion because i really love the way these wheels look...
  3. you could always buy a trans sperate. as for not fitting under the hood, you put an LS6 intake on it and it will fit no problem. LT1 is a decent motor but its time is up... you arent going to see the same developments as you are going to see witht he LSx motors.. LSx motor developemt is just staring to take off. its like the transition from flathead Ford V8s to OHV SBCs.. flathead and SBC initialy had diffrent goods/bads but if you stuck with the older tech you would deffinatly regret it in the long run
  4. i think its just a quwinkey dink that its a 7L motor and its an LS7... LS1 --> LS2.... LS6--->LS7
  5. a 2000 vortech is much much much (totaly) diffrent from a 1997 Vortech truck motor... the LSx based truck motors are infinately better than the older vortechs. LT1 would produce decent power (and yes the iron LT1 heads from Caprices are better) but the 5.3 and all the other motors have tons more potential... cam only (also headers) with an auto you would have 350rwhp easy..
  6. L98 is a decent motor... but you would be better off starting off with an LT1 or LS1... much better motors stock TPI motors dont breath well up top, your powerband stops at about 4500. way to cure that is to get diffrent intake and runners. if budget is your mind set id suggest just getting a carbed small block, otherwise step up to LT/LS motors
  7. LT1 heads are crap, get the LT4 style heads. you will be glad you did, and then think about a cam..
  8. press the scrader valve on the fuel rail to see if it has pressure at the rails.. (little screw off cap on the fuel rail)
  9. that motor isnt a big secret, its all over LS1tech...
  10. alright, so i registered like 3 days ago but i couldnt post so ive been lurking.. must say, lots of nice info on this site.. so this is my Z a 1973 Datsun 240Z that i bought as you see it in the pics... Narrowed Ford 9", QA1 coil overs, LS1 motor and A4 trans mounts. ill be needing to upgrade the front brakes to compensate for the added hp of the LS1... im still undecided which brake swap im going to do. i hope to become part of this forum and find threads to whore out accordingly. one last thing.. if any of you are on LS1tech im on there as "cop car"
