  1. so i have a chance to get two HRE wheels for a $500. problem is that it is only two wheels. i dont have a a ton of money, and i know HRE wheels are really expensive, but i wanted to know if anybody knew where i could pick up just two wheels fairly cheap. also, do you think if i bought them that i could sell them for more than that? i think i could but i was just wondering about the potential sale of only 2 wheels (as soon as i find out what model they are i will post what they are)
  2. just use rustolem spraypaint. its what i used on rotors and callipers
  3. im powdercoating the whole hatch matte black, and then might replace all glass with lexan, but i dont know yet
  4. im about ready to remove the glass from the hatch of my car, i started poking at it with a screwdriver and all i did was start to tear the rubber, what did you guys do when you removed the window?
  5. leave it alone, the color will grow on you, or you will hate it and repaint it 5 years from now
  6. is the goal to take away the weight advantage of these cars? my car is backhalved, with straight frame rails running through the passanger compartment through the firewall and into the front subframes, and then im going to top it off with a 6 point cage and it will be more than enough
  7. for the return.. f bodies use a seperate line for fuel return, corvettes use a single line
  8. if i was closer id come and buy it as is for 500... thats not in a very important area of the block. it would pretty much need to be welded just to stop any oil leaking and for some strength but thats it. from the pictures, it looks like you are taking pictures of the passanger side front part of the block, that would be where AC mounts, and if you arent running AC you dont need those anyways..
  9. thats what i dislike about SBCs, they all seem to leak around the oil pans no matter what you do..
  10. 305 heads bump up the compression and make it have lotso torque its a cheap way to bump up compression, and making close to 300 hp at the wheels is most impressive.. shows you that the heads arent that restrictive. but yeah, you should get some like L98 heads or some aftermarket heads and you would see great gains
  11. i want to see an LS1 weighed on here.. currently my car probably weighs around 1000lbs lol.. its almost completly stripped, no doors, hood, fenders, hatch, interior or motor
  12. my suggestion would be to use the stock harness. we have a painless harness on our LT1 swapped 83 malibu wagon and it seems to work alright
  13. are the JTRs Long tubes? i do not want shorty headers, id rather run manifolds than shortys
  14. you can sleeve the block... that gets kinda expensive though find another 98 block with a spun bearing and put your rotating assembly in it
  15. yeah i deffinatly see it now, im an F body guy.. and ive totaled one myself haha, thats why i was asking
  16. what headers are you using? im wondering if corvette headers will work
  17. that car looks straight... why did you pick it to be a donor?
  18. i got some "halos" for my LS1 camaro.. those look really nice, if someone had driving lights in the grille it would look sweet driving around with those halos on..
  19. LT1 f body compressor probably wouldnt work becuase of placement, a vette system would be more likely to work
  20. since my donor LS1 car was wrecked we just cut off the front part. put the car on rollers and pulled the whole car back using a dixie chopper while the motor/trans and cross memeber just sat on the ground
  21. should have gone ahead and kept it bare carbon fiber, even if it looked bad, it would have still looked badass
  22. there is a small number of people painting cars at home, why dont they work on something that is actualy an issue, like the random dumping of trash
  23. its been done before.. a guy got LT1 heads and intake and had them machined (think was around $500 for it to be machined) to be adapted to a regular gen one block. then used the TPI computer harness to get his spark and fuel injection
  24. problems with the opti spark come from a worn out water pump leaking on it. vented optis cure that problem very well. LT1s are cheap to buy and the parts for them are cheap becuase they are just an upgraded gen1 sbc. LT1 would also use the JTR mounts and any angled plug header for a regular sbc. for about $2500 you can get a new supercharger kit for the car, and it would be hella fast and with a M6 be very reliable and get 30 mpg. LT1s need high fuel pressure though, so you would need to upgrade your fuel pump
