  1. If you want to re-hook up all the wires, I dont see a problem. I changed mine back to single fire(instead of batch fire). I didnt notice any "real" difference. So then I went back with the batch fire because there wasnt any benefits.
  2. Onefast87 is right this wiring was part of the fuel injector campaign done by nissan. It is done properly and should be batch firing left bank and right bank. The reason for the fires was not the wiring' date=' but it was the leaky fuel injectors. The reason for the wiring change was due to fuel mileage I believe. I dont think there would be a problem as long as you tell them. There are only a few differences between the years. Most changes are hardware and software, but nothing major in the wiring.
  3. 240Z Master, You need to sell me your exhaust manifold! I want it! You really want to give it to me! Hahaha, but really I would like to have an aftermarket cast manifold, if you happen to come across another one. Please let me know.
  4. :iagree:why are you being secretive? How did you use the turbo crossmember? I could have sworn that one mount faces forward and the other faces backwards? Like this ? the n/a crossmember is on the top, turbo on the bottom.
  5. Dont worry I wont tell anyone. 600whp sounds like a great number, Personally I would go with the holset, those things are bada**! Then again so is the GT35R. Wouldn't a 125 shot get you almost to 600? BTW what did you break down at branson? I seen the pics, but no one answered.
  6. Exactly, I have a N/A so that is what I will be using. The crossmember should be dirt cheap also. Hopefully RB25DET Z31 got this message before He paid for some new mounts to be made.
  7. Great Numbers!!! When I get my car done I will I will be out in Kzoo, we will have to hook up, I wanna see your ride!
  8. RB25DET Z31, I found out today that you do not need custom made engine mounts, If you have a N/A Z31. Are you ready for this... Cut the existing mounts and flip them around, this will make them 2 inches further forward for your mounts. Also I was emailed today that MGPauto can get 200ZR crossmembers. Here is a link to his website. http://www.mgpautoparts.com. Ryan informed me that it will take about a month to get the part to you and about $600 shipped. Good Luck!
  9. Dramier told me the same thing about the 200zr mounts in our US version 300zx, you will need the crossmember to utilize the 200zr mounts. It looks like you and I are working at about the same speed in our swaps. What year Z31 do you have? Do you have any pics of what you have done? Later
  10. MAF was completely different than our style, I was just wondering. Come to think about it one of the villagers that I had to work on broke the camshaft pulley pin and no damage was done to the valves or pistons. ran perfect once I fixed it though! I compared the heads once off and couldnt see any differences in combustion chamber or valve sizes.
  11. what about the villager/quest? are they the same as the Z31's?
  12. My Dad's car is an 87 N/A 2+2 auto. He is the original owner, no winters, very little rain= no rust. I think right now it has almost 80k on the odometer. How bad is the damage? Do you have pics? Is it fixable? There are a lot of parts available in our area. You may want to ask 88hybrid, as he has access to a junkyard and probably has a rolling chassis sitting there. He is in St. Loius. That is about a 6 hour dirve? Not too sure I cant remember the last time I went through there. http://www.88hybrid.com/ Give him a shout, I am willing to bet he has a few chassis' for you.
  13. most of the setups out there are running 2.25in inlet/outlet on the I/C's. Here is a good link to some pics and details... http://www.redz31.com/turbofaq/intercoolers.html
  14. Great info! as always! Everytime I turn around I am learning something new from this site!
  15. OKAY Z, Why not use your VG30ET in the swap instead of a SBC? It would save you a lot of money, I think? You already have the drivetrain, all you would need is a shell/rolling chassis. Just tryin to help. BTW my Dad may part with his pristine 87 Z31 soon. I will let you know if he does.
  16. there will be a lot of 240's there, maybe 2 with SBC's in them. But most of them have the SR20's in em. There may also be a 280zx with an RB26DETT in it, dont know the status of the project as of right now, but last I seen of it the engine was in it. I will probably drive my 65 drop top galaxie. Dont know what exactly I will drive yet though.
  17. Diamond, Are you on www.xceedspeed.com? There is a huge BBQ at stony creek this weekend june 3rd. Come on out if you can. There are a few 240's with SBC's in them SLO240 has an LS1 in his... BADARSE!!! I hope to see the car around. Here is the link to the BBQ details... http://www.xceedspeed.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=41449. Awesome swap! Good to see new things being tried.
  18. what exactly do you need? Do you need engineering specs? I'll look for some more, in the meantime.
  19. Is it me or is this spoiler on backwards? I always thought that the side peices are supposed to be smaller in the front and larger in the back?

  21. Well got the engine out today, As I decided to go out and party yesterday. It was really easy just forgot to take off the crank pulley at first. The new home for the RB25DET!!!
  22. Well, it has been a while and the car has been sitting for about 2 weeks now, but I noticed that the gap between the passenger door and rear quarter is waaaaay off, so I took off the fender to get at the hinges to adjust. And I finally got ahold of the person that I lent my cherrypicker to, and He is bringing it to me on saturday... As long as it is nice outside the Z will no longer have a heart or a tranny on saturday! I will update as soon as I get tired enough to quit working on the car.
  23. I have 2 VG30E's sitting in my garage. One is complete plenum to oil pan, the other is a shortblock. I have full wiring and ECU if needed. Make me an offer. Here is a link.... http://classifieds.hybridz.org/showproduct.php?product=2306&cat=16. I was thinking somewhere in the price range of 200-250 for everything plus shipping. Both engines and complete wiring/ECU.
  24. The turbo and N/A are the same bearing, According to race bread http://racebread.com/smf/index.php?topic=395.0 and will work with RB series engine/trannies. Also the pilot bushing is the same as the VG30. Hope this helped you out!
