cleton i have pics included on this topic but i can send you another if you want.My car is just that ugly color brownish red so it does look like a turd even the cops don't think it's fast or anything(which is a good thing)But just a stock stupid red stang can make the cops turn their heads and my car is much better looking.One of these days it'll have good paint.I plan to paint it when my brother in law comes back from BMW and visits if he can paint and do body work on BMWs then he definately can paint my car

hey mak i made a 12 sec pass last year on the stock rear and tranny and i had on street tires.The stock clutch was slipping also so i know i could have gotten better.I don't have the turbo driveshaft cuz it's bigger than the one i have so it won't work:( but i plan to try to make it work for me or something.I'm pretty sure i'll get into the 11's this year the car is MUCH faster and it is a real engine unlike andy's

i only seen the guy once in the last two weeks but i'll call him tomorrow and get something going.Either way i am gonna have him make me a bunch and i'll have him fab a bracket too i'm thinking of making it look like a goose neck from the bmx bikes what do you think just one big one or two smaller ones?

well ya depends on the money you want to spend in my sig is the one i have upgraded to.

if he doesn't backpedal again it'll be this weekend.But if i know andy he will come with a big book of excuses FL327 i'll be more than happy to help when you need it.I am sure i will git at least high 11's with the old girl but it might not be till i get the slicks on her.I don't think the diff mount and drievshaft will handle a shock like slicks yet.So i'll be making my run on street tires then maybe get the slicks out.I plan to have them mounted and balanced waiting to go on the car just in case andy makes me mad

hey rated i fixed mine so it can handle the turbo now.But i still will get a new one sometime.I took mine apart by bending the tabs back and then i cleaned it very good(it had alot of crap in it) and i put it back together.When i resecured the tabs i used a hammer and hit it all the way down the sides to get a good tight fit and then used a screw driver and a hammer and tapped all the little tabs down so they sealed very well and it worked!!!! It still moves a tiny bit when i rev it up but not even close to what it use to do:) So don't worry the volvo ic is still a good ic in my eyes no matter what anyone says. I'll get hopefully 11's this year and i plan to do it with the volvo ic i have faith in it

i'm sure if he was stupid enuf to run in a foot of water he must have owned a V8 Naw i trust you even tho you own a V8 when the L28et is just a better motor, I just know how many rocks are out there i've been in these waters all my life too If you do plan to go fast would you at least run a little bit out before peeling me to the seat?

thanks mak i really want a good one but i have to use what i have for now.I have ALOT of bills that's why i don't have that much money to spend on my car.My lady is already freaking out that i spent this much so far and i told her it's nothing compared to what others with car close or slower spent on theirs.I plan to get timz's ic but if he doesn't have a new one he won't sell the one he has.I plan to pull the volvo ic tonight and epoxy the end caps on so they won't leak anymore.It is actually very efficent as for pressure loss with the stock turbo last year it only had 1-2 psi loss at 18 psi.I measured it before the ic and after and it was only about 1-2psi diff which i thought was good.So hopefully it'll hold till i can get a very nice one.The only reason i asked about the small other one i have is cuz i have it and don't have to buy one just incase mine breaks completely.But i will definately get a good one it would be pointless to get another cheap one with all the stuff i have done so far.

the volvo one i can see is just not gonna cut it.The question is i have a small one from a thunderbird turbocoupe will it work better or the same as the volvo one?I know the volvo one is much bigger but it's thinner and the thunderbird it is much thicker will it make up the diff?also can you suggest an ic for me just incase i can't get timz's ic?Remember the most money i spent on my car has been the turbo and it was alot for me.I don't have alot of money and the little i do have i have to sneak past my lady so she doesn't know.

it's good to have another inliner on my side I'll have to get a hold of tim today and see if he is up for getting a new ic so i can buy his.The volvo one just isn't made for what i'm doing to it Oh well i knew i'd have to get a better one someday just not this soon.But i'll even race you with my bad ic and still whoop you Then we can head to the lake and chill i'd be happy going like 60 in the bost you don't have to go 88 mph I know what is under the water in our lakes lots of big rocks and i'd like to not hit one.Not that i don't trust you andy but i love life

mine only does it like it's the mount but it could be something else.It doesn't make any noise when i get on it but only when i let off the gas with out pushing in the clutch.It deoesn't seem to be hitting the e brake cable and the strap on the diff is still good.So i just think it's the mount being worn out.I changed rears yesterday and the old mount looked really bad so i used another and it seems to be worse than my old one.I'll just have to get a new one and change it again.

if i'm cruising along i don't hear anything but when i let off the throttle in gear it whines.It only does it when it's being dragged down by the motor and not when i just push in the clutch.I think it's the diff mount but i'm not sure can anyone verify this?Also is there any good diff mounts besides the solid one and stock one?

hey rated i think i broke mine cuz it flew off two times really hard when the ic hose came off from not tighting it.So i think it's mostly my fault.So far it's holding fine and i didn't do anything to it but fix what came off.I plan to use it until it completely breaks.I'll see soon if it'll hold i plan to run at the drag strip next weekend so if it holds up there then i shouldn't have any probs later.Lockjaw i think they are good ic's for the money mine has held up very good and i'm very pleased with it's results and i'm sure i'll hit past 12's with it.I'll post the outcome of the day at the track when it comes.

ya scottie i know this ic isn't that great but it did hold up very good to the beating i gave it.I plan to use it till tim gets another one.I knew from the start that it was not the best but i did need something and if it got me into the 12's then i know it can handle some crap:)

it does sound like he is wimping out But if you seen in my other post i kinda wounded my ic so it'll have to give it some tlc before i can drag with it.But that's cool andy just look me up i plan to be swapping the rears tomorrow and lowering the car.If your lucky i'll let you go for a ride

well guys i got my new bov a blitz and it sounds sweet.But finally the ic gave out,i took my friend for a ride and i ended up blowing the ic pipe off so i put it back on and it didn't run right.So i looked around and my friend found that the ic would flex when i gave it gas and let off just free reving it.I noticed that it bent the bracket holding the end caps on I also noticed that it made two big holes where the core meets where the end cap is.I bent it back together and epoxyed the holes and it works again.I plan to get a new ic from TIMZ but he has to find another one then i can buy his.So i think i am gonna fiberglass the plastic so it doesn't flex for now.So if you have a volvo ic and plan to run it with a hybrid turbo make sure you reinforce it.The plastic is weak on the end caps.The stock one was fine but this turbo moves so much air that it causes the ic to move alot.Well i didn't expect the ic to last this long so i got my use out of it

i have vid of my car from last year but i has alot more power this year.I have to do some tweaking tho like timing and bov and tires but all in all i'm hoping for mid 11's if i get that i'll be happy.Now anything lower or just getting that will make me REALLY happy.I like the turbo over the V8 cuz i still have drivability and power usually when you get a V8 set up to run fast it has crappy gas mileage.And i love the sound of the turbo here is the link to the place where the vid is http://www.zhome.com/~aktar/zcar/scotty/

lol it'll be good, are you gonna run slicks?If so i have to get mine mounted and the rear fixed before i throw parts out the back from the hard take offs.I plan to make a few runs on the street tires just to see what she will pull with it like i drive it everyday.I'll be cool to see some vid of me spanking you in the quarter on the econoline Hey utvoltman99 i am a firm believer of run what you brung too i was just messin with him Everything is fair in a race even hair pullin and eye poking if you can get close enuf But all joking aside andy has a very nice and fast car i am looking forward to seeing it run(i seen it sitting alot just not moving ) I plan to put on new struts and lower the car too but if you need help andy with somethings you might not get done just let me know i'd be more than happy to help.

now putting in the secret weapon is what your gonna have to do cuz i know that old scrap under the hood can't even pull a 15 sec pass I hope timz doesn't come either he will make us both look bad.I personally think you'd be better off bringing the econoline to the track it has more power than the old tired V8 does in the z.Looking forward to getting a ride on the boat it just looks fast(unlike your z) What's left to do to it ? I bet just one of those motors cost more than my whole car with every mod i have done You realize andy when you come up to run we are gonna be the only imports at the track.Well yours is half import half american but still and definately the only datsuns. Oh ya i'm gonna run next weekend this one they aren't open so the weekend of the 6th a bunch of people are going.You are gonna need at least all eight cylinders and the nos to even leave the staging lanes.It's all in good fun tho cuz i can prolly say he will whoop my butt but it'll be fun.But watch out if you do i might just have to get some naaaawwwwwwwwwwwsssssssssssss.
