  1. i'll try that today but i'm sure i got them right i had to splice the wires cuz the old connectors where junk so i think they are right.The afm is junk tho and i was thinking maybe the ecu if the new afm won't fix it.I think my thermotime sensor is bad would that cause problems too?
  2. i got it all together and actually took it for a ride today it was great in first but second and the rest of the gears where laggy.The only thing is i had to unhook the temp sensor and take the afm off but leave it hooked up to make it run even close to ok.I'm thinking my afm is bad but i don't know for sure anyone got any ideas?Here's what it does when the afm is hooked up it seems like i can't get the spring tight enuf if i rev it up it gets too much fuel and bogs down i can use my finger and push the little arm back to simulate less air getting sucked in and it'll rev right up but only if i hang on to the little arm and control it with my finger.Please help i'm about to go nuts maybe it was the over exposure to the fumes. I did spend alot of time in with the truck eyes watering and trying to breathe a few times i had to step out of the garage to get soem fresh air and yes the door was open i didn't run it with the door closed.It's runnign way tooo rich and i do have all the sensors hooked this time.

  4. that's what i did i took scottie's advice and left a post on the wtb section and a really nice guy got ahold of me and i have been giving him business lately.Alot of people ask where i got my injectors and i tell them and rudy (his name)hooks them up.I have the bigger injectors and i tuned mine back to run ok.It's better to get past all the problems first like replacing the injectors if your gonna do it might as well do it right the first time.
  5. ok guys i have the tunnel modiflied but i had family stuff to do today so i didn't get a whole lot acomplished but i did get it all in ready to bolt in i have to slot the front motor mounts and then find something i can use for a tranny mount but it's coming along nicely i even power washed out the engine bay it was so oily i had to i hated reaching in to grab something to hand on to and getting a hand full of grease. But the radiator is ready to bolt in and i'm placing the electric fan infront of the radiator.I'l get pics up tonight
  6. well the engine is in but not mounted i have to do some more tunnel poundi....i mean custom bending To get the tranny to fit right.But it does fit and i'll get pics tomorrow.This truck has more z parts than mazda parts.I plan to use the small turbo on it too i have to get the exhaust manifold tomorrow along with the intake manifold i have from my friend's house.But it is progressing nicely.The biggest hurdle so far is the drive shaft the splines are different so i'll have to do some cutting and welding.I'll keep an update
  7. aaron it will have power on both sides till it grounds out to make the spark so check the line that makes it fire that little box might be bad mine wouldn't run with it not grounded.

  11. i guess just the humor in the swap kept me from getting kicked off .I just wanted more power is that too much to ask? Ok that all done thanks i like to make stuff i guess. I was coming home today from work and this camaro was behind me at a light so i figured i'd punch it at the light to see what he would do, older camaro like mid 80's you know rectangle headlights t tops all that stuff i think the 305 in it.Well i think i kinda scared him with all the black smoke coming out of the exhaust then he realized i wasn't in the smoke screen and stepped on it (saw the front of the car lift up) he just stayed right back there didn't get close(scared of oil or something getting on his car )i think he was impressed but it does feel way slower but then i might just be use to it.I figure the L28 is the way to go they can kick butt and still last along time.I just have to figure out what rear end to use i'm sure the little thing won't last too long on the truck but i guess we'll see.I plan to take more pics of the install from the measurements i'm going to have to use the electric fan i have to make this thing work very tight hopefully everything goes smooth like the shifter in the right spot if not no big deal would be nice.I plan to put the little turbo on it if i had another i'd twin turbocharge it but only have one i could sequental them i have a t3 and the little tbo2 that is on there now hmmmmmmm No maybe i should just get it to run right then mess with performance.I plan to take it to the track in the summer just for kicks so see some of the guy's faces when this thing rolls up to the line and smokes the tires like crazy
  12. didn't think of that len. it didn't help after a few miles it started loosing oil pressure again, just too worn out But now i get the excuse to put in an L28 this weekend i dunno if i'm going to turbocharge it yet.I want to but i don't want to spend all weekend doing it i have worked on that truck more than my car!I figure after the z engine it'll run forever those engines never die.
  13. well i decided to give her another oil change since the other one only lasted about a week and it was saturated with gas.So i change it and put in the engine restorer stuff and good filter all that stuff and started it to let the oil circulate and all of a sudden poof gas was spraying everywhere the return line had burst.So i fixed the line and thought there is not suppose to be pressure on the return then thought oh ya i used the roll over valve for a return line come to find out the roll over valve has a hole the size of a pin head and only let a tiny bit thru.So i pulled it out and drilled it out and it made a huge differnece in the truck's performance it runs really good now and seems to get better gas mileage and the oil so far is holding up.The knock is gone too i guess it helps with oil pressure I think she just might live but i think i have a leak in the intake system right now it's not hooked up to the wastegate and it's only boosting 10 psi and it even backs down i dunno if it's the door opening or if it's all leaking out somewhere. i'll have to check out what is going on there it might help to ifnd out why it seems so much slower than before.well that is the update

  16. ummm thanks for the vote len maybe if i can vote a few time and then you do it a few times it might just get featured But as for the rims i love them i got them from a guy fro 200 bucks with tires.They where on his mustang and they are unilug so they fit right on.There is no spacers at all i had to grind a bit off the front spring to make them fit but i didn't take alot off just enuf to fit still safe.As for the sewer man do i have some mods in the works for it i was thinking a turbo-grinder to accellerate flo down the tube and then coat the inside of the tubes with a super slick compound....dang it i did it again man i have to stop thinking of ways to mod stuff I really hate plumbing the dand pipe is still leaking and all this work on the house has made me neglect my truck it needs an oil change bad all the oil broke down and has gas in it so it has no oil pressure and i heard it knocking today I changed the oil filter and then added one quart of fresh stuff to get me to the garage i usually work at then i'll change the rest of the oil.It's not knocking anymore but i probably shortened the life of the turbo and engine by alot.explains why when it got warm the oil pressure dropped ya i know better but i have to please the woman or it's no nookie for me and i get alot of this I love thses new little guys
  17. thanks guys the ic works great so far i still have to work on it.I have been working on my house for the last week fixing the sewer not a good thing but it works now.I have to change the oil and i have been looking for some wheels but i have a budget and this is a winter car so they would have to be aluminum.Hey warren what kind of turbo truck do you have?hey len you should sit in it it's great can't see anything while driving down the road everything is blurred

  19. no len i used a t-bird one it's perfect for the truck and cheap.Plus if i want to use it on my friend's 82zx i can later.I'll get pics up in a few i have to take some first. i love thses new guys
  20. i got it all installed yesterday i was just too tired to post any pics or anything.I still have to take some tonight when i get a chance but it works great i have the boost up to 10 psi now and it goes like hell.I'm going to put in a smaller restrictor on the controller line so i can get higher maybe even 12 to 15 psi on that little beast i guess if i blow it up i blow it up. these new ones are great
  21. hey julian i put an 81 zxt motor in my 76 and it was easy the engine just drops right in and then you just have to wire in the zxt harness.It took me about two days on and off working on it to get it done.If you have questions feel free to email me.
  22. jarrett scottie know a whole heck of alot about turbos and he's right i was on the same path as you when i decided on a turbo set up scottie showed me the way and i took it from there.I swapped an 81zxt motor in my 76 and i got good power for cheap even with the stock bottom end and turbo.I am right now in the middle of modding it more i have rebuilt the engine and plan for a new clutch and turbo.The stock engine can handle alot of abuse mine did great i beat the crap out of it and it just took it all and smiled asking for more.I was running high 12's in the quarter with mine the only mods i had where basic exhaust injectors and an ic with 18 psi of boost and the stock clutch which was slipping.I'd have to say start with a stock turbo and work up it's the best way and you learn in the process.
  23. well it don't like to start in the morning so the cold start injector is going in tonight i need it bad so when it's cold like that it doesn't act the way it does.I got the boost turned up now and it hauls but i'll have to see about an ic i'm worried about running much more boost with out one.It is fun tho it just spins in the rain it's kinda fun it spools up and the wheels go weeeeeeee it slid sideways on my lastnight it was great i didn't think it would it's a one wheel wonder and both decided to let loose it was fun.Now the race is set my friend's 4.3 sonoma he said he'd trade it in if i beat him and i think i just might not for sure it's hard to judge them just by sitting in them.I'll definately post the results.There is another guy dave from Grand Rapids that has a conquest i keep teasing him i'm going to beat him(prolly won't) but i like to mess with him he said he'd cry if it did i'd just laugh.I do have a traction problem now in the rain on dry pavement i bet it'll be way better i'll just have to wait and see.That truck is a combo of nissan, mazda and GM.I have alot of time in it but hardly any money sunk into it so that's the best part.
  24. glad to hear that you got a set.I just might put the cold start injector in it cuz it is hard to start in the morning well it was yesterday i'll see today in a few minuates when i leave for work.I have to race my friend's 01 sonoma with the 4.3 vortec engine in it he has an aotu so i think i'll get him off the line but it'll be close at 4 psi i think i'm just going to turn it up to 10 it goes much better at 10psi.Keep me posted on the injector thing he sends his stuff quick and is very nice i'm glad i delt with him instead of some jerk hopefully it works out good for you too.
  25. hey len it runnign right now i ust hooked up the temp sensor and it made all the difference in the world and it has balls lots of balls for a B2000 i'm going to get pics up tomorrow i have to clean up the unused wires there are alot.I'm only running 4-5psi of boost right now i have to turn it up more i've had it up to 11 psi today with no detonation and it pulls hard
