Does anybody know the part # or specific year of the trans that we should be looking for? I'd like to get a jump on this.
I've read that some early years have problems.
240hoke,
I know you said you were doing the shifter re locator but how well is that coming? I would love to be able to keep the stock console.
I'm really interested in this! I think this will be the best mod for the Z yet.
Nice Rotisserie! Great work Sirpent. I'm curious about the frame work in the engine bay? Does it leave enough room for headers/exhaust when the egine is mounted? Looks like a great idea for adding support to the frame.
Look under the passengers seat. There's a plug for the rear harness that connects the rear lights. Check those connections in the plug.
Make sure the brake pedal switch gromet is in.
Check all light sockets for voltage and corrosion
This sounds like two different problems at once
Check the combo switch and work your way back with a meter for the parking lights.
Hi datsundrifter
I had the same problem om my 78 280. It turned out to be the plug on the AFM was pulled out on one side. I think your on the right track
To get my ARP studs (100-7708) in my 78 Datsun z I used an impact and some open end lug nuts and sucked them right in. Just be careful and watch the back of the stud closely as it goes in and stop the impact because you don't want to damage the threads. It only took seconds to install them that way. This is after I removed the hubs.
Nice WORK!!! I'm really interested in this power steering setup your doing. Would you mind posting some more info on that? What year Subaru Legacy, How did you mount it to the cross member?
Any Help on this is GREATLY APPRECIATED
Great Build!!! Is it possible for you to show more pics of that second cross member you added to mount the LS3? I've just purchased an LS1 for my Z and am REALLY interested in how you tied that together. Thanks! Keep up the great work
Nice work !!! It's funny how it starts just fixing or cleaning up an area then BAM!!! the whole car is disassembled LOL! I'm there right now. I'm curious how did you choose that spring rate. Are those for daily driver use or track day or a mix between?
Keep up good work and updates
Thanks for sharing your project
Great Find! Are you planning on doing a complete rebuild? I am curious about that clock as well, is that like the one in the Z 432?
Looks like a great project. Please post lots of progress pics
