LSx s30 Longtube group buy thread
1 tuff z replied to 1 tuff z's topic in Gen III & IV Chevy V8Z Tech Board
Unfortunate it has come to this. Sure wish he [blake] would do the right thing, finish the job he agreed to: ship the remaining 4 pair, either ship gaskets or issue refund in proper amount to us all. Feel bad that other/potential LSx Z swaps may not get to enjoy what we will... -

If just a track Z I'd really need to call her a track pig-way too overweight! -

Front to rear; kamanair air dam, stock steel bumper, hood, fenders, LS1/T56, alum radiator, zf racing front control arms, all stock glass & door panels, 304ss exhaust, autopower 6pt cage, corbeau seats, carpeting, stereo with speakers in the kick panels & an 8" sub/box/amp between the rear strut towers, gas in the tank, 17" compomotive wheels [not forged so they're a bit heavy], 13" front rotors, 2011 mustang rear rotors/calipers, q45 diff. think that's about it. She's no lightweight for sure. -
Good friend who races always tells me "anytime you need come over and use my; lift, tools, Longacre scales, etc." so I finally took him up on his offer. Last evening my son Alan and I went to his house [Alan was key as he is within 5 pounds of my weight and is perfect "driver ballast", 178 lbs last evening...] to set ride height and corner weights. Began by measuring the "rake", looking for about a 1/4" forward [for me anyway] measured where the front fender & leading edge of the door meet and where the rocker seam [near trailing edge of the door] is. Got that within 1/16" side to side & front to rear then onto the corner weights. Couple of his vehicles in the background, new Audi S4 on top, Z06 below. Missing from the picture is his Porsche GT2 and GMC dual cab long bed diesel tow monster which hauls his 1987 Porsche 911 race car inside the 38' new aluminum enclosed trailer. Z on the scales Below image is with no driver [didn't think to snap one with him in the z] With driver; Left / Right Front 730 / 708 Rear 772 / 733 Cross weight 50.30%!

Decided that satin black was what the z really needed, color-wise for the rear spoiler. Speed/downforce test will be in about 2 weeks when I'm at Watkins Glen next [6/25-26]. Backstory; back in December last year when my new spoiler arrived, it was temporarily taped on, took pics then back inside where it was warmer. Fast forward a couple of months, I measure, drill, mount the spoiler-all looks fantastic and I'm psyched. Go to close the hatch and the spoiler [fortunately I closed it slowly just in case] contacts both quarter panels. I now wonder if I installed it incorrectly [it's happened before...] but all looks good. I planned on a foam tape [weather & waterproof] on the bottom side of the spoiler but had yet to install it-so now I"m thinking the extra 'space' would do the trick. Tried but no dice. Call Brian-he can't believe it and asks me to send pics-calls me back and tells me to return it and he'll send another. Love Brian's customer service! 2nd spoiler arrives [i now return the 1st as I had recycled the box quite awhile ago] and same issue. Call Brian again-we now suspect something is up with my z as it fits his [he tested it prior to shipping] and no one else has had this problem. Thinking that it's not my z I walk a few steps and test it on my 71-same problem. We both ponder solutions [brian offers to refund but I really want the spoiler!] so I install the spoiler, use my sharpie, mark where I think i needs to be trimmed and send it to Brian for surgery. A little while later I get my surgically altered spoiler in the mail and it fits like a champ. Did some quick sanding then shot it satin black [what you see now]. Before installing I went to orange box store and purchased vinyl foam weatherstrip [3/4 wide, 3/16 thick] and used it around the perimeter of the mounting surface-slightly inboard to make it somewhat invisible when mounted. this helped to both stabilize and seal it to the hatch since the wxstrip is both water & weatherproof will seal out moisture.

Believe they are an m8 x 1.25mm pitch, 20mm long.

Funny, I never warped the stock rotors on my z-ran over 100 auto-x's but normally had some inexpensive off the shelf pads-which seemed to work ok. At the track [road course] was another story... Perhaps you need a less aggressive pad. Also, you can't go fast with your foot on the brake!

List is now complete - regarding who has or not received their LT's. Those [4 of you, shown in all bold] that opted for ceramic coating are the only ones who do not have their LT's. None of us have received our new oem Multi Layer Steel (MLS) exhaust gaskets as per our original agreement. Open to any ideas as to how/what to do next. I can say that I really like mine, wish that I was more of an engineer so that they would have been nearer perfect from the beginning and that no mods would have been needed but hindsight is always 20/20. 1. tuff z - Y 2. sunnyz - Y 3. evilc - Y 4. I'm hoping that he does follow through. This morning I pm'd; nullbound, 78 LS2 Z and Joemama for confirmation if they've received their LT's or not-will update post #378 when they've replied. Assuming they all received theirs it's just you and RebekahsZ [ceramic coating] who don't have theirs-then we have the matter of the oe factory multi layer gaskets which are outstanding and not sure what Blake is doing about them-if you all recall they were part of the pricing. Basic math tells me that at $50 a pair x 18 is $900-certainly not chump change... -

Tried to pm u but wasn't able to...you still need the dash? I have one that's cracked that I purchased as one to repair [following the threads on hbz] that would eventually get swapped into my z. Would I get it back?

I have repeatedly over the past few called [both shop & cell], texted, emailed and posted on fb without any response whatsoever and feel this completely unacceptable! Perhaps if someone else tries he'll take the call [seems he knows my # and simply ignores me]. I'd like to know who-from our list has yet to receive their LT's? Too bad there isn't someone on HBZ that lives close who could 'help'. What recourse is there? Local law, legal action, small claims court, all of us on fb trying to contact or post with our lack of product received? Blake Hughes-owner [and person I've dealt with since beginning this thread] 417 Motorsports 326 North Kansas Expressway Springfield, MO 65803 417-865-1314 shop 417-880-2329 cell 417motorsports@gmail.com -
I have hood hinges either replated [pretty] $60 or plain [pulled from a parts car] $20 + shipping, both pair are straight and working condition. They fit in a usps flat rate large box, $15 max.
