  3. he lives down here in milwaukee, i would have saved mine if i'd known he had a z, but for the past 4 years he's never once said a word to me about his z, even with how much i talk about mine til i show'd him pics of my build and some pics of your start. how much were the materials? i guess within the next couple months he wants to start.

  7. correct, i applogize, i was implying that the blocks (mounting) is pretty much the same from my experiences
  8. pretty sure all 350 sbc blocks are the same. the biggest difference is carburation or tbi or tpi
  9. alright, thats kind of what i originally thought you guys meant, but wasnt too sure. im having a welding friend of mine weld in my new quarter panels since im clueless. i did however just buy a lincoln powermig 140c to learn with. thanks guys
  10. okay, you guys ready for a really dumb question? alright, on a body piece like that, if you stitch it in, how would you fill the rest of the gap (ie, the gaps between beads)?
  11. alright, my shell is on saw horses right now... any suggestions on how to get them welded in such a way they do their job right?
  12. if it is going ot be a track car, replace the floors and frame rails and you'll be fine, my first z looked like that and turned out great
  13. yeah, i got the windshield out, and the screws out of the sides, and was yanking, but they wouldnt budge, and i didnt want to break them. oh well

  16. mind sharing what he quoted you for that? best around here so far is about 700 for media blasting the whole shell (in and out)
  17. where in WI are you located? im in milwaukee. what shop will do that for 75/hr and said it would only take an hour? goodluck man!
  18. the guy who runs the shop i take my motors to races ASA, he said that it is pretty much an ls6/ls7 hybrid with a dry sump. or at least last time i talked to him thats what they were.

  20. okay, i saw pics of a car with the suble z kit AND flares... thats like 6" wider or something isnt? anyone else ever seen something similar? i kind of liked it
  21. so i searched, but couldnt really find a definate answer. Heres the deal, i bought my 73 z with new frame rails, new rockers, and floor pans as well as quarter panels welded in. the only problem with it is whoever welded the quarters in warped them. My question is where can i get new replacement quarters? the ones he used just re-did the wheel arches. so if i can get either entire panels or just to the bottom of the window, and door to taillight i will be okay. the search came back with most poeple saying that no quarters fit very well. anyone have any suggestions on at least the best fitting ones? thanks adam
