  1. Heard somewhere that TRD were going to offer a turbo kit or was it to be a new car option? Not sure but it would not make sense if there was no turbo version, eventually anyway.
  2. Need them to have up/down windows of some sort or else take the OE windows with manual winders and be set up to bolt to OE hinges and door catches. Shipping may be a problem, could be too big to go air but there is no great hurry so sea may be OK. Will pay a realistic all up price including shipping which I know will not be cheap. PM best.
  3. Here is a highlights video the Mazda driver has made of the entire race, it shows just how much passing was going on. My own modest experience with driving a fairly powerful car is when passing someone you want them to hold their line once you get close, it can get a bit scarey otherwise.
  4. Mate, have a good look at the videos and you will see that the flag marshalls/corner workers were not in the picture, the last post is at the beginning of the long high speed sweeper that leads onto the straight where the pass took place. At that post the cars were not even in view of each other. It basically is the closing speed which catches everyone out but all involved did what they were supposed to do and that is why the pass worked safely. Good on anyone who donates their time to waving flags though, it is people like you who help make racing safe and enjoyable.
  5. It may sound strange, not that I care, but it is this sort of incident which makes circuit racing the pinnacle of motorsport for me. No matter what car you drive at what level. You just never know what may happen next while you are furiously concentrating on doing the best you can with what you have right now, although, geez, driving a powerful nicely handling car is a buzz all by itself. How do you retire from this, can't imagine.
  6. It was the M10 block which was used for a BMW turbo F1 engine I believe, could have used a stock crank too although I doubt it.
  7. Driver of the Mazda said he did not realise how quickly the Lotus came upon them otherwise I guess he would not have been caught racing side by side with the Porsche all along the straight. Lotus driver was chasing the yellow Gallardo for a place so I guess he was not going to hang around while a couple of slowbies took their time sorting things out and so wreck his chances. At the drivers briefing it was emphased that slower drivers were to hold their lines and allow the fast blokes to find their own way around. Which maybe, strictly speaking, is what happened. But big speed differentials on a race track are a bit scarey anytime in my limited experience, for the passer as much as the passee.
  8. Mazda MX5 incar, he is chasing down a Boxter. Lambo passes both then a Lotus Exige does the same. Sound OK?
  9. How much extra caster from stock with the Kmac setup John, do you know?
  10. A full twin scroll/divided housing setup will be good for road racing, better performance all round including improved throttle response. That's assuming it's all sized etc correctly.
  11. Ship it to AU and finish it off. It's probably old enough to be legally driven on AU roads in it's present left hand drive configuration although the resale here will not be as good as if it was 'normal'. All of which does not answer your question
  12. The amount of caster adjustment available in any S30 strut top is severely limited by the small diameter design of the strut towers. That is the limiting factor with a S30 and that is why to get good caster cutting the towers is unavoidable.
  13. Engine cooling through vents etc has been done to death over on this subforum http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/forum/47-windtunnel-test-results-and-analysis/ As far as retaining heat in a turbo consider what happens to the turbo oil after shut down. My theory is that the oil is more likely to overheat and so leave deposits in the turbo the longer it retains heat once oil circulation ceases.
  14. Haulin axe has a quality all of its own
  15. That's an awkward question, basically the State governments agressively market the 'speed kills' message which a lot of people accept which then justifys the revenue grab. There are more reasons, AU just being AU is one of them
  16. Oh to drive my 280ZXT at one of those super speedways
  17. Lots of revenue getting attention in AU, fixed speed cameras everywhere. Modified cars cop it so the idea is to have a modified car that does not look modified. When I used to drive a lot in a job on one occasion in the outback I drove with the accelerator on the floor flat out for several hours, used to change feet when the accelerator one got sore Get caught doing that now and you would lose your car and your licence.
  18. In my part of the world there are several speciality liquids used to spray inside (car!) body cavities such as fish oil. Hell of a messy job though if done properly, stuff runs out everywhere. Use a spray gun with a flexible wand tipped with a 360 degree spray nipple
  19. The valve cutouts are different, two valve, four valve.
  20. If you change the link pivot point on the ARB then it won't line up with the point on the LCA. What diameter ARB do you have and is a stiffer one available as a replacement?
  21. Yeh, modify the strut towers so the tops can be located further back towards the firewall. That's what was done with my 280ZX to allow up to 8* of caster, it's a very rewarding mod for handling improvement, particularly turn in.
  22. If it was me I would contact shipping agents servicing the port of departure your car would go from. Google may help.
