  1. Did you Junk yard it or go get scrap metal $$$? Just curious if the metal guys would give you more than the Junkyard.
  2. Yep pass on it, unless it is cheap.

    Garage Lifts

Funny I called Bend Pak. They referenced the Asedeals site I posted with the cheap Danmar lift. For 500 dollar difference I'd go with the better lift. Thanks for the info guys.
  4. Anyone have one? What you paid? I was looking at this one: http://www.asedeals.com/garage_lift_d-7.html Thoughts? What was you max ceiling height if you used one.

    78 280z

I've been looking all over the state for a 240 with not much luck for those in good shape. I will however be getting a 78 280z pretty soon. It currently doesn't run and does have rust, but I really think it is fixable. I'm probably going to sell it or just keep it for parts.
  6. I think I acutually saved it. Getting ready to put it back on the car for a test. I ended up drilling around the easy out and through the bottom. I re-threaded it with a larger American thread bolt. Now lets see if it holds water.
  7. Thanks guys for the advice. One of the main reasons I want it is to learn more about Fuel Injection. Hard part is I'll have to leave it outside. My wife won't like parking her 28K van for my 150.00 dollar car outside. I think I agree w/ her on this one.

    FedEx woes

Yep, that is how the recipeint of the package that got lost got his money back for my item.

    FedEx woes

What "Jmortensen" said. Also I don't think Fedex is dealing directly with recipients any longer. If the package was lost, then the seller/shipper has to file the claim, not you. I work for Fedex and I've had stuff lost. Eventually got the check and to this day I still have thec check made out to my ebay id. I've never been able to have the check changed to my name and I have direct numbers to boot.
  10. Oh and I cant forget the Evil Kinevil wind up motor cycle that you wound up and let go. It would do all kinds of crazy tricks. Rats, nothing on ebay.
  11. I can get my hands on this fairly rusted Z. Is it worth the purchase to part it out? I'm not 100% if the frame rails are salvageable, but if not it gets chopped if i get it. Thoughts on parts I could sell to recoop my 200 and have some extra parts left over for me? It's bone stock w/5 speed. I'm assuming R200 rear end. I'm thinking of offering $150.00.
  12. I'm 70's era. I had this peddle car thing called a "Cheetha". I broke that thing so many times my dad couldn't fix it any more. My buddy down the street had the "Green machine". Wanted that so bad. I also had this crazy airplane thing on a wire that I got for Xmas called "Harry Canary". My mom broke that like the 2nd day after Xmas. It was total fun.
  13. Orlando, FL or Windermere, right outside of Orlando.
  14. Old post, but will a 280zx thermostat housing fit on a 240z E88 head? Broke both bolts trying to change the thermostat. Got one out on the bench and then snapped the easy out in the bolt on the other. I should have drilled the hole bigger #@$)&)!?!
  15. Out of curiosity, what electric fans you running? Looks nice and clean.
  16. Welcome Newbee! Have fun w/ the project.
  17. You put a different head on then what you had before? Did you do any head work to it? Mill the head, check it for straightness? White is usually water. Blueish is oil. Does it smell oily? How are your plugs looking?
  18. I was in process of coming up with a CAI also for my setup. I was looking at using 3" PVC plumbing at the carbs and then run metal from there. The 3" would have worked but needed to be cut down. The PVC had a great shape, left plenty of room for Velocity stacks. If I get another car I will be playing with it again. I agree 100% about the K&N filters and the heat.
  19. I was not trying to tell you what to do only to watch out. The power of a women will make you do all kinds of crazy things! Good for you on trying to help your mom out. Good luck w/ the build.
  20. Not to old 37. I'm just way over spent on my house. I love it, but I could do without it to have more toys! It is in a great area, great layout and great for the kids, but bottom line it is just a roof over my head and someplace warm to sleep at night. I do totally enjoy my 3 car garage! Funny how in life you want the big house, but man does it cost you. I've not had to many cool cars that have ever been new. I reserve the new ones for the wife even if it is a new van. I always buy used for myself. No regrets except like you I only have my two year degree. Wish I had the other two. Maybe one day I'll go back. Regards, Jeff
  21. I think the majority of the cost is when you stray from the stock L28ET to aftermarket. The initial cost is finding a donor car. 200-750. The rest is labor in the swap. For real performance your range is .01 - $$$$ If it were me in your situation, don't do the swap. Finish school, get a good education, drive the stock 240 the way it is. Once your done, have a good job, buy a house and go crazy on the car. Oh and don't get married just yet. Finish the car first, then get married!
  22. Out of curiousity what kind of money is tied up in the car?
  23. You sure you didn't cross any of the spark plug wires?
