I'm looking at this truck. Its got 96K on it looks to be in pretty good shape. Not a king cab, just a plain old short ped. Only a two owner, original FL truck. Is it worth $3200? According to KBB it is not, $2500 or so. Checked ebay and not a lot for this year but the few I found were in the 25-2700 range. Is the 4 cyl in these trucks pretty stout? Timing chain? I'm wondering if KBB takes into account the demand for small, good running, little trucks? Any advice? Thoughts? Any major concerns, known problems? Things to look for?

If the car is lowered due to shorter stiffer springs, do the bumpsteer spaces affect the ride height at all?

I would change the plugs for sure. Being that it has been sitting so long I'd venture to say the vacum hoses are probably shot. Especially in the extreme cold as you are in. I'd replace all of it because it is cheap. Sitting 25 years also i'm suprissed it started at all with the injectors sitting that long. I'm sure their dirty. Did you flush the lines? Who knows what kind of build up are in those lines. And as you run it, more of it (build up from the old gas) will probably come off.

I think Zero and my concern is just not touching are cars until it works even minimally. I don't want to lose the use of my car at all unless I can have planned down time. I'm always amazed at how a few hour project on my Z turns into an all weekend thing. I've got the space in the garage so I don't mind setting up the stand.

Great question. I'm thinking of doing the same thing. I missed out on my 83zx turbo car purchase for 400.00 so I'm still looking. My concern was the starter since if I recall it bolts up to the tranny. How would you run this and cap the drive shaft end w/out oil coming out? Also would you mock the piping for the intercooler?

So how much is the total Package? Includes VR sensor mount, EDIS 6, Escort Crank wheel, etc?

Picked up a Hayden Adjustable Controler from Pep Boys good from 160 - 210 @ 30AMPs. $44.99. Couldn't find a Flexalite, even though Napa suppossedly sells them. Looked all over Orlando.

For controling the fan, which wire is best to connect into for the ignition? 73 240z.

Where do you buy Spal and Flexlite controlers? The one I picked up from Autozone did not have a tempature adjustment screw. It was 24.99. Pepboys had one which had a screw adjustable from 160-210 but was 44.99. I did search on the fan but didn't find anything about the controler. I was curious to what other folks had installed. Thanks! Tried to remove the ~~ to no avail. Even in advance mode.

I'm upgrading to an aluminum radiator from Jags that run and replacing the mech. fan w/ an electric. Can you guys tell me where you got your Electric fan control unit from? What brand? Is your temp adjustable? Or are you using Megasquirt to control the fan? This is for a 73 NA w/carbs. And what electric fan did you find that fit best from the Junk yard? Model of car. Thanks!

Welcome! This is an amazing site! I always thought Dirty injectors would result in a poor idle? I would check the timing, and fuel pressure. Make sure the plugs are clean along w/ the air filter and fuel filter. Check all hoses including vacum, PCV valve, etc. How long was it sitting? Do you know the history of maintenance?

Let me be more specific. What year cars/trucks have EDIS in Ford. Is Ford best to use? I was under the impression that the coil pack came from a Six cylinder and the VR Sensor and 36-1 came from an escort? Is this correct? Did all Escorts come w/ VR and 36-1? Which Fords came w/ EIDS 6? Thanks, just a little clueless! Forgive me If I seem dumb, I'm just trying to get a little better understanding.
