On the flip side, I'm just very grateful the site is still here. You could spend months reading old threads. Change is always a little difficult, but is necessary. It is not right, it is not wrong, it is just different.

I never liked my combo, nor did my wife, but my mom did. Not quite red though.

It is good to see a young crowd so involved in these cars. I was 18 when I bought my first 1970 240Z. I still remember when my dad and I looked at the original Z I wanted. He steered me away from it though. It had a bad front end, but it was totally mint otherwise. I wish I had bought that one.

Yes get the screw out of the tire first! Welcome, it is a very nice car. 10cjennings bought my 73 240z. He is in Coral Cables, he is 17 as well. There is a Z meet I thought this weekend down that way.

This is my opinion, but I think the back hieght is too low. To me it looks a little funny the way the tire sits under the flare. I do however like the over all look. Very agressive.

Looking good so far. The only thing different I would have done is paint the underside before mounting all the newly painted suspension parts. I love watching people motivated working on projects!

Another thought is that when I replaced the pump the connection wasn't solid for some reason. Cut off all (car and pump) the connections and replace with new ones. I didn't have any new ones at the time and reused the old ones from the pump.

Good idea. I would run a new wire and add a relay.

Here is the factory FSM scanned that you can download: http://www.xenons30.com/files/FSM/1973%20240z%20FSM.zip Look at page BE-5 when you open the ZIP file. BE Body Electrical.pdf Check also the colors on the wires to the pump from the car. On page BE-4 (Diagream 4) it shows the fuel sending unit wire as Yellow "Y" going to the gauge and I think the Green "G" is what is powering the pump. You may need to get some rubbing alcohol and rag to rub down the wire to determine the true color. The Original 73 Pump was mechanical. So the wire being used to power the pump I believe was / is for something else. That was how it was hooked up when I had the car originally. If all else fails you could run a new relay to the pump if that wire is definitely not getting power.

Chris, I sent you the electrical diagrams for the 240z in PM. In the meantime, put the pump back in. Run a new wire from your Battery to the pump. See if it runs okay this way first. If it does you know it is wiring, which is completely bizzare to me at this point. I would then put the old wires back on and check the pump again. Also did you physically check all the fuses with an Ohm meter and not just by sight?

Made the 8 hour round trip and passed. It was original paint, but it needed to be re-done. There were to many dents to contend with. I'll keep looking.

Agreed and Agreed, I noticed the elimnation of said pics too. From speaking to him on the phone, he said there were only two small areas on the body. If it is the orignal paint, it will be very obvious to find the rust on the body. I know all about rust issues with Z cars. Running and rust issues aside, other thoughts? Verbally over the phone were down to $4000.
