Just purchased my second 280zx turbo after a big snafu over the first one . Maybe now I can finish my intended project. Before I get an intense amount of emails and post asking for parts I will not be parting or selling anything just yet considering that it is in running condition. I will let everyone know when I decide to sell parts off of her. Anyway off to the specs and pics 1983 280zx Turbo 2+2 -Digital Dash -Talking computer lady (haha) -L28et all original -84k original miles -5speed borg warner transmission -leather seats and premium interior -15" turbo wheels -Hatch louvers -rust -all for $700. I think this was a steal

It seems to be a good price considering I already have megasquirt. especially with Ztherapy carbs and a set of triple webbers are also around the price range. I guess Ill look up Accurate injection and ask a few questions. I am really interested in the setup. Im curious as to how they sound.

Has anyone used this setup here on Hybridz? curious as to how badly it idles with increased fuel injectors and a semi built motor. (cam headers little head work etc.) Seems like it would be a nice alternative to carbs using megasquirt maybe? I have a complete megasquirt setup catching dust in my shed and a few turbo parts and goodies thinking about putting them to use with a dual ITB turbo set up?? or maybe just a dual ITB setup? ha. Any input would be helpful. I am looking for suggestions for body shops in VA, specifically Hampton Roads area but I am willing to travel as far as Williamsburg. yea Its leaking inside I will be replacing the slave and master. but I believe its the clutch master.

I have the problem of fluid leaking down the fire wall does this mean that the master clutch cylinder is indeed the culprit?

Yea I pulled two from each side the third one by the tranny tunnel was nearly impossible to get out without messing it up.

I dig the light blue. do you remember the model number for the breather filter? I want to replace that ugly hose ASAP. How is the paint holding up?

After doing the floor pans I decided to touch up the engine bay alittle. Spotted a can of Rustoleum High Heat BBQ paint, also good for automotive grills stoves fireplaces radiators etc. I was just gonna pain my vlave cover all one color to make it look better than it did. But I started to get creative as I started sanding. Materials: 100-500 Grit Sandpaper (left over from the floor pan project) Freebie* Painters tape (also left over) Freebie* Drill and wirebrush attachment Freebie* Rustoleum High Heat paint $4.78 (on sale at Lowes and bigger can 15oz!) Total: $5.05 w/tax and 3hrs of work Before: After: Product: Withstands upto 1200 degrees Also noted I did this without removing anything but the spark plugs wires. I really didnt feel like taking the cover off. Painted the headers radiator and manifold I think it came out really nice. Sure beats paying $8 a can at autozone etc. for high temp enamel. I was considering getting the semi gloss or gloss black but, I am pleased with the flat black color. This will do until I swap motors.

Good deal. I had thought about doing this to my corolla at one point except I wanted to swap in a 3sgte or a silver top and either turbo it or add itbs. I just decided to keep it as a DD and hang on the the original low mile engine. The car is in prestine stock shape so it would be a great sleeper lol.

Well, I just wanted the 14s for that reason there arent many street tires avaliable past 215 or 225 plus I plan to get bigger wheels when I swap to my turbo motor. these would just be for now. I saw them as a very good deal that i can resale later Did he have a -9mm offset?

ALL of my trouble has been in my Corolla since only recently I have gotten my Z up and runnin' The first ticket I was bumper clocked by a unmarked car at night goin 61/45. The second was acting stupid with my dad in a rich residential area. Goin 63/35 plus a $200 addition fine. Cop was nice though didnt hit me with reckless just speeding. Those two tickets and the fact that everytime I drive the Z I am afraid to open it up on city streets because the exahuast is so loud has cause me to eb very cautious. Heck whenever im on the interestate I'm check my rear view to be sure no one is pacing me. I am skeptical of ANY GM and FORD car cause ive seen it all as undercover cops. Even when I do open it up and I am by a cop by mistake I usually dont get harrased cause they figure its an old car so the exhaust is old.

Yea I know the 14x7 measurement is fine its just the -9mm offset is throwing me off. -9mm would give it a deeper lip correct? thats what I want but I dont want it to rub anywhere.

Would 14x7 rewinds with -9mm offset work on a 240,260,280z with coilovers? being offered a set for $260 brand new.
