  1. Not a fan of the rear bumper/body kit, but a if its a real turbo swap its a good deal for 1000 bucks if done properly. Post some pics of the engine bay and floor pans.
  2. Not sure if you finished up your setup yet but the stock lines work fine and I would get stainless steel or braided lines.
  3. I was able to fix it! The spring indeed needed to be reset. Used a screw driver with out even taking the window or latch out pushed the pin back and it popped back into place. Thanks.
  4. Got it fixed. Now I need to get the exhaust brackets replaced. I'll try to do it myself If not I'll get a friend who owns a muffler shop to do it. The main brackets are sold at pep boys for relatively cheap. Thanks everyone for the input really.
  5. Yea I removed the door panel already from examination the knob on top and the key cylinder works fine just that doesnt work properly. At the moment I'm trying to remove the metal trim around the window so I can gain access to the lock mechanism but one of screws broke inside the thread hole :/
  6. As far as the transmission seals go. Do I have to get different seals cause I have a 5spd transmission from a 84' turbo 200sx? (installed by PO)
  7. Yea the latch doesnt move it all I tried moving it by hand but it just springs back into place. I'm going to try removing it and compare each side.
  8. Well, I have been trying to figure out for the longest time what the heavy vibration my car does at any speed above 35mph. I balance the tires etc. The balancing helped a little. But after last monday I think I know the culprit. Anyway, long story short I was on the interstate driving and then boom I hear this long rattle and after words I run over several metal pieces. I pull over immediately and check underneath. I see my exhaust pipe hanginf kind low so i figured it fell apart. I call AAA car gets on the tow truck and the driver points out that it is not the exhaust its the driveshaft thats hanging down. Evidently the 4 bolts came out that connects it to the differential yoke. My question is is there anything else that I should check/replace when putting the bolts back in? My dad says I need new U joints as well, but the joints are only in the front of the shaft according to my haynes manual. Any help is welcomed. Also should i get the driveshaft rebalanced since it hit the street? Pics: Damage done (dented my exhaust pipe): Passenger side (knocked my bracket loose): Rear (broke my rear bracket): As for the rear should I take it to a muffler shop to get the bracket replaced? I have twice pipe (I think) it was on the car when I bought it. Not sure where to get that bracket piece from.
  9. Mine doesnt close at all anymore the lock mechanism is stuck backwards is there anyway to fix this with replacing? Passenger side (correct) Driver side (problem wont close)
  10. on the rear there are quite a few LARGE holes when you take off the rubber strips. Not sure if you want to do that lol.
  11. At least he took care of the car. You guys are bagging him like he completely made a travesty out of the project. I've seen alot worse although those examples weren't finished they obvious were going down the wrong path to begin with. I don't agree with the price, but overall the car is not bad at all; minus the scoop and side pipes. I'll take the stripes.
  12. Just remove the rubber guards and rubber strips on each side along with the over riders. its not too hard just need deep sockets. after which you are gonna need to get the holes covered either welded or something not to sure. Or you can just find a smooth 240z bumper and brackets and mount it on. Your last two options would be to collapse the shocks to bring the bumper closer to the body. Or get a MSA carbon fiber or Fiberglass bumper. http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/CTGY/7BSA01 http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29347 Personally, I like the early 260z bumper it looks nice and isnt as big as the later 260z and 280z I would just remove the over riders.
  13. Did you ever get the problem fixed? I am interested to hear the results I too have the vibration problem. Actually my driveshaft just came apart on me on the interstate today. the bolts are gone so I will be replacing them and the u joints and go from there.
  14. You are apart of the emerald green club. Nice complete 260z cheers.
  15. Thanks, I may try that. I wonder if Maxima, 200sx 82-83 and 240sx are the same rotors as the 280zx?
  16. After coming to a decision against getting cross drilled and slotted rotors. I've decided to get a good set of regular 280zx rotors in the rear and new stock 260z rotors up front. Is there any way that I can prevent rusting from occuring like anytype of clear spray? Or are there specific rotors made of titanium or something that do not rust? My current rotors are warped to hell.
  17. Well, thats the problem in the US we are really limited to colors. Do they still mix colors over there in canada with the tremclad base?
  18. I see you are in canada it sure would be a blessing for you to send me a galon of the key lime or green apple color over to the states at my expense. Btw very nice job so far keep us posted!
  19. What are you talking about? All 240z's and 260z's (1970-1974) had the turn signals in the valances below the bumper. 280zs have them in the grill.
  20. Well My dad has encountered a guy with a 87 supra non turbo with the 7MGE and a 5 speed tranny. The guy will sell everything needed from the engine, transmission, ecm,to the driveshaft and rear end for $500. My question is this a good deal? And would it be a good swap into a Z? I know of plenty of 7MGTE swaps, but not too much on the 7MGE motor. I see that it has 190-200hp but is this at the wheels or crank? Also wondering how much power is avaliable if I built the motor i.e. lots of head work etc. N/A power.
  21. Thanks, I'm curious as to how Krylon holds up as apposed to rustoleum or duplicolor spray. I like krylons caps tho they feel so nice and the rotating cap is nice. I was also considering the olive green it reminds me of an army green. They also have satin green I forgot the name of it but its slightly darker then the olive. How many cans did you use in total Young Z?
