  1. Ive got one from a 81 turbo if youd like. It includes the torque convertor and flex plate. Name a price and its yours.
  2. You didnt CLEAN the head before you put it together??
  3. It looks like the guy is smiling as he walks by. Very funny!
  4. Also, the MC has the two bleeder valves on the side for I assume just draining the MC. Is it possibly to connect rubber lines from those back into the top of the reservoirs to get air out of the MC if there is any.
  5. More problems. Still getting clean air free fluid to the calipers but the pedal is still very soft, better than before but still very soft. My concern is when you apply the brake there is almost a bubbling/gurgle noise from inside the mastercylinder. Just curious if this means I need to bench bleed the MC again or if this could be some other kind of problem.
  6. GTP for sure. Nissan or Datsun?
  7. Well I was thinking maybe a valve might have been stuck partially open, dont know how to check that neccesarily. Is the intake manifold on?
  8. Car its going into... my 78 2+2, slowly emerging from 7 years of restoration/storage. Project since I was 11. Donor car, purchased about 6 months or so ago. Drove it to school for awhile, was a ton of fun to actually drive a sports car since Ive never really gotten to drive my 78. It got me a couple tickets and got me into some trouble where I wasnt allowed to drive it.... its just been sitting for most of the summer and I was tired of not getting to drive it (and I didnt really ever see me getting to drive it again) so I pulled the engine. What can I say, Ive sold quite a few parts off of it, selling it for $250, got a nice engine from it, my insurance went down when I drove it, blah, blah, blah, it was well worth the $550 + $300 in tickets. Engine bay as of now, engine runs great and it will be driven this way atleast until sometime next summer permitting I get the car on the road. Basically what the engine looked like before it was pulled out. Most of yesterday was spent cleaning the block with it all still together, minus manifolds. Got alot of the grease off, made it nice on dissassembly. Its a turbo kit in a box. Pretty much everything that was detachable from the block, manifolds, wiring, afm, intake etc. Got it down to the bare block today. Cool photo... Crank is out. Cylinders dont look great in the picture but are actually quite nice. It looks as if its been honed recently. The rustly looking stuff you see will all come off with a hone. Should come out really nice. Thats all I have for now. Im trying to do all the stuff I can without spending money so I can still work on prepping my n42 intake, cleaning up the turbo/manifold, dissassemble the head and clean it up. Probably wont replace much on it, but well see. Anyways, goal is to basically clean the block up, hone it, replace all the gaskets, bearings, maybe rings, n42 intake, aluminum fuel rail, 60mm TB (not that it does anything, looks better), MSA downpipe, deck the head if needed, maybe recut the valve seats, intercooler setup that runs under the oil pan, some sort of recirculation valve, stock turbo electronics, fuel injectors, running at 10-12 psi. Basically a refreshed stock l28et with minor cosmetic and perforance modifications. At some point down the line I would love to raise the boost up to somewhere in the 15+ range, standalone ECU, holset, something in the 300 hp range. But I doubt any of that will happen till Im out of school.
  9. Volvo... nicer than... Datsun???? Mmmmm.........
  10. How are you doing the compression test? Just cranking it over by hand? How long since it ran? Least you could do is pull the valve cover to check if all the drivetrain is intact, functional.
  11. As mentioned what about a low end electrical assist for the turbo. Have some sort of capacitor that will charge up as you drive and then when you step on it it discharges to a really powerful motor that assists the turbo in spooling up............. just an idea, Id just stick with a good old, normal, run of the mill turbo set up. But I always like seeing people doing new stuff, regardless of outcome.
  12. Kind of hard to buy one if you dont know if it fits...
  13. Thats a pretty good idea aarang. I had my n42 on my turbo engine just to see how it looked and I noticed the heat shield mount but never thought to drill and tap it. Ill maybe do that this afternoon.
  14. I would work on checking all your vacume lines. Also is your egr working?
  15. Yeah 17s are pretty common. Look at all the Rotas. They in my opinion do look somewhat large on the s30 but nice. Whats the offset of those wheels? I cant imagine those working perfect without spacers.
  16. Thats awesome! Id definitely either replace the steering wheel or refurbish it and clear coat it to save the signature. Great find. Those Bob Sharp parts are woth a bit.
