  1. Riske, When I first came on here I was looking to do the same thing with my Z as I do want to show it. But then it progressed into something I really enjoyed driving. And now I am trying to go for somewhat of a median for both. Car will not be as low as it was before and will not be cambered like crazy. The modding has also gone to more functional parts as I will be planning a stroker build soon. There is a wealth of knowledge on here and although I don't post much I spend a lot of time just reading what all these guys have done, afterall were not all engineers but we can learn a lot from all the time and effort they have put into the car.
  2. I am going with 16x9.5 all around with 4" backspacing and 4.25" backspacing which is roughly around -32 and -25 I will be running 225/50/16 tires on them with the flares. I would have preferred to go wider but I have connections through Continental and that is the widest that comes in around the 50/16 or 45/16 John I will be sure to do that before powder coating them so I don't screw the wheels up. Right now plans might actually be to just anodize the barrel black and leave the polished face, I am starting to like the look of it. Either way wheels should be arriving to me in 10 business days so I will see how it all fits.
  3. Hey guys just some input on the whole Tokico thing from someone on the inside of the Industry as I used to work there. The US distributor (warehouse and assembly) for Tokico has ceased business with Hitachi and from what I remember Hitachi is looking for a new distributor. They are in fact out of all of the Z car shock part #'s including the kits for both illumine and HP (blues). My set was one of the last to be available as I set them aside for myself as things were going sour with the negotiations with Hitachi. Regardless of which shop you go to for ordering the shops you have to keep in mind most of the online shops you are looking to get them from don't stock anything and drop ship it from the source so don't waste your time looking around for shops who have them in stock. Tokico will recover in about a month or 2's time so you can expect to start seeing movement on those parts and new management of the company.
  4. Spinwerks makes different versions of wheels. they have some for drag and some they make for road racing which are probably the ones you see street driven. Luckily with Z's we have pretty good size tires so I don't think the wheel will take too much of a beating. I am picking up a set very soon and I will post it and see since I am in the Los Angeles area I do lots of driving around lots of pot holes lol.
  5. If you are looking for a wheel like the Diamond Racing but want something lighter you can go with Spinwerks wheels, The 82 series looks similar to diamond and they can be ordered to whatever size you want. A 15x8 is roughly 13.3lbs in the 82 series. They are a bit hard to find online but you can contact Bisimoto over here in so cal, he is a dealer for one. (also makes some badass porsches you may have seen) http://bisimoto.com/
  6. Ordered mine. Gonna go for something similar to this. Thanks for the inspiration. Cant wait to get these doors in.
  7. Really interested in some fiberglass panels with speaker provisions. PM'd
