Final 5.3 update with pictures
milesz replied to milesz's topic in Gen III & IV Chevy V8Z Tech Board
Thanks, the exhaust starts with a pair of Camaro intakes with the flanges cut off to fit and welding a 2.5 exhaust pipe from there. I choose to use the Hooker Tunable Mufflers and is very pleased with the result. The car is one of the quietest V8 I have ever heard at idle but give it some gas and you will wake the monster. Its a custom job that only cost $180.00 minus the mufflers. -

I have a stock 2002 5.3L in my 73 240z. I had the ECU reprogramed by, at the time, LT1 Wiring. I am thinking about using the Hypertech 30008 programmer to get better preformance. What are your thoughts and will it work? Thanks in advance

Will the 280z seat belts fit in a 73 240z?

I sent mines to Engine Wiring and they did a great job. Not only did they reworked the V8 wiring harness to fit my application, they also reprogram the ECU. I only had to connect a few wires and the way I go. Save your the headache, farm it out.

Ok, I am almost finished with this project. I owe sooo much to too many people; I am afraid if I try to list them all, I will leave someone out. But, I would like to thank Tom at Engine Wiring because he is a man of his word and took care of my problem when he didn't have too. If you guys need engine wiring or ECU reprograming, throw your business his way. You will be glad you did; I know I am. I could never forget Dan, for all his help. Guss and Jose at Master Aircraft, I can't thank you guys enough. If you guys need your air craft painted give them a call in Wickenburg, AZ they will do you right. I need to thank my lovely wife Inder and my baby boy Jeevan for putting up with me while I invested so much time developing this project. I will stop here but there are so many more people I could thank. The pictures goes throught the stages of the project and shows the then and now. It is a fun little car and I hope you enjoy the pictures. Let me know what you really think. Milesz

What would it take to replace the auto tranny (4l60e) to a T56. I have a 2002 Vortec from a 5.3L Silverado in my 73 240z. I am thinking about going manual.

I have looked and looked and could not find an answer to my question. I have a 83 280zx turbo, HSK fuel rail, and Surpa turbo injectors (440cc) and need advice on turning. I have been turning the afm and now it will stay crank but will die in about 5 minutes because of too much fuel. I am also using the stock FPR. What else do I need to do? What am I overlooking? I am at a lost and need some advice. Thanks

I sent the harness to then, LT1 Wiring now Engine Wiring but had to send it back and should be getting it soon. Tom seems to be a nice guy at Engine Wiring and know what he is doing; so send him you business if you need their services. They reprogramed the computer and mod the harness.

Thanks all for the advice. What I did was to relocate the the PVC valve.

I am putting the N42 intake on my 83 280zx turbo. I am also upgrading the fuel rail and adding supra 440cc injectors. I am running into a problem with the PVC valve clearing the turbo. How important is connecting the PVC to the block? Can I plug it on the block and intake? Please call me at 928-706-0525. Need some advice. Thanks
