  1. No it did not fix it. I unpluged the computer overnight and cranked it the next day and it droved fine until I turned it off and recranked it. I checked for leaks and could not find any.
  2. I checked the intake bolts and they all were loose. So I retighten them and it seem to do better at idle. Have not test driven it yet because of the wheather; but thanks for the advise. Miles
  3. Will, Thanks for your reply. It basically happens when I turn the car on. If I let it warms up it ilde at 5.6 rpm. When I put it in gear it goes up to 1+ rpm. Sometime if I have it in gear and stay on the brakes it will idle back down to 5.6. Also, sometime, when I am on the freeway doing 50, 60 or 70 at act like it on cruise. I can literally take foot of the gas pedal and it will keep that speed. This does not happen all the time but I know that is not right.
  4. I have a 73 240z with a 5.3 w/ls6 cam and intake. When I start the car and put it into gear, I can take my foot of the gas pedal and sometime it will surge. When it surge, the RPM goes up and I have to ride the brakes to slow it down. What is this all about? I replaced the idle air control value and there were no difference. Anyone else had this problem? Thanks

  7. Ebay has a set of Prothane rear control arm bushings and just wondering if anybody ever used them. Are they any good?
  8. I have a 240z and replaced the shocks and springs about a year ago. I friend gave me a set of good used shocks and springs. Since then the car has been wandering when driving. I sometime hear a knuncking sound and the steering wheel shakes. Today I took off the front tires to check the suspension and found that the spring on the driver side has play. That is I can turn it with my hands. The passenger side has no play. What could be the problem?
  9. I have too much brakes in front (toyota 4x4 conversion and 79 280zx brake booster) and it seems like none in the rear (stock drums). I think I need to add a prop valve but not sure how to do that or what kind to get. Any help will be welcome. Thanks

  12. Cable, thanks for your learned reply. How hard was it to replace the converter, and, did you have to re-tune? Lastly, would this also explain why I can take my foot of the gas pedal, from a dead stop, and the car will accelerate to 10-20-30 and on? Good to hear from you ole friend
  13. So when in neutral the revs are actually less then when in drive or reverse? Yes Can you give some sort of range that you're experiencing? Like what revs are you at in park vs. Drive with your foot off the accelerator. Idle at 5 (in P and N)when put in gear it gose to 9. Sometime if I place it in gear and wait about a min it will lower back down to normal idle.
  14. No the throttle cable seems fine, it only idle up when it in D or R. Park or nuetral the idle is fine. I have another throttle body, will swap it out to see if thats the problem. Thanks
  15. Hey guys need some advice. I have a 2002 5.3 with a LS6 intake. The problem I am having is that when the car is in park or neutral, it idles fine but when I put it in gear Y(D or R)the RPM goes up. It's getting so bad that I can be at a stop light with the car in drive, take my foot of the brake and he car will go to 10 mph to 20 mph to 30 mph without me touching the gas pedal. What could cause this? I have already replaced the throttle sensor and the air sensor with no change.
  16. It a brand new fuel filter/regulator; I checked the line and it looks fine;
  17. I am using a fuel pressure gauge at the rail.
