I did the same thing. I went to the local junkyard and got the linkage of an old Maxima. I will take a picture and post it. I wish the rod was a little longer but so far it seems to work. I will position the level on the transmission on top to make sure my gears are correct. After done I plan to post pictures of that too.

As promised, I have included some pictures of the exhaust intake, mod transmission cooler, the Datsun 240z floor shifter and some others. Tell me what you think. This may not be the best way to go but its a way to go.

I understand. I perfered not to cut the hood. The other option was to use a LS1 intake and replace stuff. I am too lazy for that. Maybe one day I will, but for now it is what it is.

I am not saying you are wrong, but I used the exhaust intake from a 02 Camaro. I had to moditfy them, but they work fine. In fact, I like them alot. I amit it may not be the best way of going, but it worked for me. I will try to produce some pictures at some point. Live well and be strong. -
I am in my final stage of completing my project. I have a 73 240z with a 2002 Voctec engine and auto tranny (4l60e). At this point, I could use some help and advise on wiring. I believe I have most of it done but there are a few things I am not sure about. If any of you have a little time to invest to help a friend, please call me at 928-706-0525. I live in Wickenburg. Now, before any of you get started, I searched and searched and could not find an answer. I have a 83 turbo engine in my 78 Datsun and looking to upgrade the turbo, among other things. Do any of you know about any bolt on upgrade, if there is such an animal. I plan to run Supra 440 injector and maybe the Megasquirt system. Any info would be helpful. Thanks

Thats not all together true. I am currently placing the 5.3 into my 240z. I agree you have to replace the oil pan and cut and put a hood scoop on the hood. On the plus side, it is a cheaper engine and tranny combo. On the less side the intake is much higher. Its rated at 285 hp in the truck but my car is much ligther with a 3.7 diff and running stright pipe, no converters, I should get over 300 hp. -
I have a 83 280zx turbo and have a JSK fuel rail and not sure what the proper installation is. Any advice and pictures will be helpful. I searched the site but did not find what I am looking for. Thanks

I am ready to connect my auto trans shifter but not sure what shifter to use. I have the Chevy Camero shifter but its too big or too long. Need something smaller that will work. I have looked and looked but could not find much info. If any of you guyz have any info or pics on this matter, would love to hear from you. I have the 5.3 with the 4L60E tranny. Need help

I have a 280zxt (83) and lately when I turn it on it runs fine after it warms up it acts like it running lean (starving for gas) and then cut off. If I wait a minute it starts fine and do the same thing again. I checked the ECU, TPS and the AFM still doing the samething. What could it be. Need help

I have a 2002 v8 fuel injection motor and wondering what fuel filter to use. I am also using a LT1 gas tank. Need advise.

My 280zx turbo is running funny since this weekend. I replaced the fuel pump and fuel filter and it is still running lean. I used another ECU and still running the same. I checked and cleaned the plugs and still starving for fuel. I am now think about the O2 sensor. Oh, it seems to run good at startup but shortly after when I give it gas it like it starving for fuel. I could really use some advice.

I have the diff and the half shafts (6 bolt holes patterr) from a 87 300zx. I am putting it into a 73 240z. the 240z has the 4 bolts half shafts. Will the 85 300zx half shafts work? I was told that they came with the 4 bolt pattern. Confused
