  1. Yes,this suspension will work fine. I was going to upgrade to custom Stance coilover set up. THIS CAR HAS BEEN SOLD. I never completed the project due to money issues. I'm sorry there haven't been updates. I WILL build a 1JZ 240Z in the future.
  2. Finally got some time to work and order some parts for this damn car, motor should be in next week on my custom crossmember. - Ian.
  3. Looks good, but spray the tank black and put an exhaust on it. Orange is hot, and I usually hate orange. - Ian.
  4. That chassis is going to twist so fast... - Ian.
  5. Looking good, now lower the car! The motor sits so nicely, I can't wait to get my 1JZ mounted. - Ian.
  6. Sounds fun. Mine is a highway/drift car.
  7. The cross member is alright. The tubes should be gusseted to the L-plate, but whatever. I hope this swap doesn't become that popular. Its kind of nice only having a few of us running around.
  8. Looks like we're both going at this project the same exact way! The only difference is I have no fuel cell, I'm using EZ Wiring instead of Painless ($180 cheaper than Painless), and I'm fabricating my own crossmember. Great build. What are your plans with the car? Road racing, drag, etc.?
  9. The solid mounts are different, but if you use the 5M rubber mounts, you can put it in.
  10. Progress is looking good. Body work is such a pain, but so worth it.
  11. Stop tempting me. I wanted to do something like this on the 7M that's going in my '85 Cressida.
  12. I have brake plans, don't worry. Thanks for the feedback.
  13. I thought I might as well join in and let everybody know about my project that I have going on. By the way, this is my drift car... A little background on the car. I bought the car for $900 last January, and spent a good amount of time getting it running, doing some mild suspension, fixing the brakes, and putting the air dam off of my old car on it. Specs: - Tokico Illumina Shocks - Eibach Pro-Spring Kit - Nismo T/C Kit - Nismo Steering Couplers - Long-nose R200 Rear Differential - Rear Sway Bar - BRE Hangers - Poly Bushings Here are some pictures before I tore the car apart: Then one day, after a few beers, my buddy convinced me to go for the 1JZ-GTE swap: Then I gave in again and did the S13 dash swap, not complete, obviously: And test fitted some 15x10 -38 Diamond Racing Wheels. I will be running the exact width and offset, but in a 16" rim: Here are the specs on my motor so far: - 1JZ-GTE from Toyota Chaser - W58 5-Speed (Came out of my friend's 1JZ powered MX83 Cressida, 400rwhp) - XTD Stage-3 Clutch - 2JZ-GE OEM Flywheel - OEM Flywheel Bolts - 2JZ-GE Bellhousing - MKIV Clutch Fork - 5M Starter - Megasquirt w/ 2-Step and Boost Cut I have the whole front of the motor to finish. I'll keep you guys updated. - Ian.
  14. Pete: It would, just paint the valve covers or something. I will be doing a write up on my 1JZ swap into my '71 soon. Thanks to Russ, I have a lot more information than before. - Ian.
  15. Excited to see how this turns out, be sure it dyno it. - Ian.
  16. You can also order it through MTR: http://www.manictechracing.com/1jzgteparts.html Just remember, you can only use that bellhousing if you are using an R154. If you are using a W58 you need to get the bellhousing for a 2JZ-GE (N/A; out of SC300 or IS300). - Ian.
  17. I got a price for about $125 for a pan from Toyota. The 2JZ pan will fit a 1JZ, its the same block, just the 2JZ block is taller.
  18. Supra - Rear sump. Chaser - Front sump.
  19. I am putting a 1JZ into my '71 240Z, and I've searched through the other posts, but have found next to no posts about the actual motor mounts for the 1J. Any help?
