what codecs do you have installed on your pc, tim?
edit: also, what are you playing the avi with?
-
that's great!!

this is how my engine sat with the hooker/scarab kit. if your motor is sitting farther forward than this, it's too far. this is about as far forward as you can go with the hooker kit. pay attention to what the others are saying here... buy the jtr book. even if you're making your own mounts, it's worth the read.

yeah, very nice. would love to have access to a lift like that for my projects.... and the video games and multiple tv's are pretty cool, too, but that might slow my progress down.
-
that's basically my point. you are going to hear it... even running my car now with open headers (and it is seriously loud this way), i can hear the fuel pump. the way you mount it has a lot to do with the amount of noise that gets transferred inside the car. if it's mounted solidly to the car (even with the rubber grommets that usually come with the mounting bracket... not so good on noise reduction), it will be noisier than mounting it with something like paul pointed out.
-
which one did you get and how did you mount it? an electric fuel pump is going to make noise....

make sure the fluid level is right, and that the tv cable is adjusted properly. if you need info on how to check/adjust it, check bowtieoverdrives.com's site: http://www.tvmadeez.com/tvinstadj.php
if you are still stumped, contact them. they know their stuff. phone calls are recommended over emails.

im also using a carter and it works really well. i mounted mine on my fuel cell box with the included rubber grommets. as stated above, when the engine is running, you can't hear it. mine's a carb'd 377.

wow, that's a good starting point. good luck! planning to put similarly-sized wheels as your Z as well?
-
i thought a fury was a plymouth?
-
crap... thought i looked more carefully.... sorry for the repost.
-
repost. sorry.
-
very impressive. i've always thought a 510 wagon would look good with flares and larger wheels. thanks for the proof!! i've had 2 opportunities to buy 510 wagons in the past 2 years and passed up on both to keep working on the z. i only hope another opportunity comes along. your work has inspired

i agree with tim. oil pans are easy enough to change without having to put the engine on a stand. also, the one piece rubber pan gaskets are wonderful!

I mounted all my gauges similar to Mike. No problems....
same here.

i have the radiator kit and am very happy with it. one thing that had bothered me before was what i would do about a top bracket. the one that comes with this kit looks great and works nicely with mounting the electric fan.
-
yes, those are the scarab/hooker mounts. that's exactly what i had for mine before going jtr.
-
if i recall correctly, it will give you 2 to 2.5"
-
i agree that it looks better. also glad to see you got rid of the rear bumper.
-
a 280 spring on 240 struts will raise your car. that's how my car was raised originally to allow for a 27" diameter tire. depending on how much you need/want to raise, just changing the spring hats from 240 to 280 will give you about 0.75".

do you mean the horizontal bars? if so, you are required to remove those, as they are bad news for any fiberglass hood. when i purchased my hood, the instructions that came with said to remove them.
-
that's an awesome find!! 8) i have an orange '70 240 that i found similarly. that is, stored in a barn for 10 years. good, but not as good as yours and worth every penny of the $600 i paid. tony d is right on in stepping back and thinking about your goals. it's your car now, so do what brings you the most happiness.
again, great find!
