  1. Do you remember what they charged you to ship to Atlanta?

as stated above, they can still be bought from msa and they are still the same price they have been there for the past six years that i can recall. shipping, unfortunately, was $90. it's a huge box they ship it in. i saw the one on ebay and almost bought it as a spare for my next car.

kenny, i still have the pics you sent me two years ago and am using them as reference for mounting my new air dam on my 280. thanks again! :-D

  3. the carb linkage is what gave it away for me. at first, i thought it might be a different car, as tory used to have anodized red moroso valve covers and air cleaner top. paul does all his cars with that linkage and even bought the rods for Tory to do the same. we did my car the same way.

bimmerman, as for the initial question, the jtr kit would definitely be the way to go to get the engine further back and lower. it should be pretty easy on that car, as the only thing that stands out with the hooker to jtr swap on that particular car is getting the drive shaft shortened, longer radiator hoses, and possibly longer transmission cooler lines.

i'll be in conyers this weekend doing suspension work on my 280 if you want to meet up and talk shop. you should definitely come and check out paul's (the z guru in your area) 240 drag car.

  4. i know that billy kittle(?) at pro1 in conyers did the short block. it's a 400 block with 400 rods, 0.30 over. nothing too special, but it was done right. it's a complete holley system max kit with holley heads and lunati cam. supposed to have a 10" torque converter with the t350. the tranny was freshened up before it went in the car. i know tory didn't drive it much.

i also know the front springs are rear 240 springs and the rear springs are 280 rear springs. he got a lot of incluence on that car from a friend that tory and i have in common: paul corson.

  5. those masks are pretty popular in china. i saw them everywhere in beijing a few weeks ago. i snapped this pic of the girl with the mask and happened to get the girl with the gloves in the same frame..... the masks and gloves were popularized in china as a result of the sars epidemic.

  6. Saw an orange 240 or 260 next to Home Depot off of Windward Parkway in Alpharetta, Ga.

the owner of that 240 must work at home depot. i see it there too often. i saw a yellow 240 around noon today on windward in alpharetta and a brown 280 on north point parkway in alpharetta around 5:30 pm.

  7. What that statement means to me is that when you talk to them they will help you to determine what your needs are and provide you with the correct spring rates. This is exactly what would be expected of a profesional operation and a profesional operation is what you will be dealing with when deal with Modern Motorsports.

Agreed. Ross will help you determine the appropriate spring rates based on what you are using the car for.

  8. Where is the best place to buy? MSA has them for like 55 a piece. Is that my best source? Where do they get them from?

definitely not msa or victoria british. try ebay. i just recently bought a complete set for $120. the sets you usually find there are used, but occasionally you will run across new ones.

what gaudge fits the JSK rail (fuel pressure)

any 1.5" fuel pressure gauge with 1/8" NPT fitting will fit. summit and jegs have them listed.

what did you all do for mounts on the JSK rail?

i bought a metal strip at home depot that i will be cutting and bending to fit. i have the jsk rail, too, but haven't installed it yet. still waiting on fittings and braided line...
