Most the guys here will says it's not worth it..unless you get it cheap and can install it yourself..also the power goals you are trying to achieve have alot to do with it too..Is there anything wrong with your stocker??? In my case, for years i wanted to do a JZ or RB into a s30..so thats what I'm doing...forfilling my dream, whats yours?

I wonder what kind of power you can put out with a set cams, exhaust and head work..???

The more i read about the 1UZ, the more im thinking that i should have mabye chose that engine for my swap, but the 1jz is already turbo so i went with that..I my vote goes to the 1UZ....

that would be a cool project!!! 300hp in stock trim!! Those motors are a bit wider than the garden variety v8, so it will be a pita..but doable....

Great progress..but one thing i noticed is it seems as if you could mount your engine alittle further back, is there a reason for not doing this?

Did it say which diff had to be used...for example use the stock r180 with lsd short nose guts?

Paid $600 for the car..as some may know im in the process of a 1jz swap...so far i got around $4000 including the price of the car..

Any chance we can get some kind of wiring diagram comparing the z harness with the jz harness???? Something that shows which wires go where??? If know one else does, then i will try to post something when i get there..

I thought your tank was 16gal??? Any way i had no other choice but to buy a fuel cell, cause I'm not paying $300 for a gas tank...I got a 12 gal cell sump/foam $54 from ebay:biggrin: I have a 255 walbro and will prolly run standard gas lines. Today i finished the front of the engine...New water pump(2jz) new timing belt, alum pulley set..etc looking like it's going to be a clean swap...Next week I'm going to work on the down pipe, and hopefully start the wiring..

Well i was working on the fuel system today and i got some good news and bad news...bad news is my fuel tank is garbage, good news is I'm Glad i took my dads advice and pulled the tank and found the problem before it found my fuel system....It's funny the L26 ran very well with this fuel tank. which is the reason i had no intension to pull it...Boy was i wrong, this is the rustiest gas tank i have ever seen..I has spots so rusty it looks as if you can poke right though i have no idea how it didn't leak.. Also i alway thought that this isn't the stock fuel tank, can anyone confirm my guess? What are some low cost alternatives for a gas tank? I thinking about going with a 10gal cell....

I have the standard r154 that comes in the supras(no extension) And i can put my trans in any gear with full interior..maybe my engine is further back than yours...

My intercooler is 31X12X3....so yeah it will fit...

I will Get to everything else in due time..I am thinking long trem though....Im thinking about rear ends...Should i foot the bill now and buy a $800 r200 or just use what i got now and enjoy the smell of burnt rubber and metal as the rear end explode...hummmmm......might take the ladder:twisted:

You know what you are correct, i do want to get the car up and running as quick as possible..And no i didn't replace any bushings as of yet...But i do understand that this car is a project, so that means i have to stay focus on one thing at a time..i have seen to many project fail because people get so deep into everything else, that they never even get there car running...thats when you see people parting whole projects... I agree take car of the hard to get areas while you can..Those bushings i can reach with the engine in the car...

Hummmm, theres not to many ways you can do the tranny mount...i'll have to tackle that when i get to exhaust .....I do plan on lowering the car 1 1/2 to 2in so that could be a problem...

Well Tranny crossmemeber is done...i think it looks good.....will it hold 400hp+?....well just have to see won't we..

crossmber already made, engine is in the car..fitment is very good...I agree John at betamotorsports seems to have quality custom parts, almost made me pull the trigger...but me and my brother decided to make our own...I have about $40 buck in my cross member..not counting our labor..
