  1. Glad it worked for you. Post up some pictures of your progress!
  2. Clean paint. I don't think you could pay me enough money to move to Cali to have to deal with all of the emissions crap and regulations on cars...
  3. Be different, go with a five spoke then powder coat them takata green...
  4. Man not even fair...Those fenders look amazing as well as the head light buckets as well as a vented hood!! I could so use all of those parts and probably the shell itself...
  5. Jealous!! That dash is what I want for my track 280z....Ugh amazing work.
  6. Thanks. I feel so bad cutting into this Datsun, every time I do I feel like I am killing a unicorn..haha. It has been a long build and I am just ready to finally drive this beast on the road. I know it isn't the best built Datsun s30 but it has been my best build so far. Almost there though. Last things to do is finish the tubing and mounting the SC400 suspension then make my new brake and clutch lines and she will be on the road. Of course the project never ends, there is always something else to do, something to improve, something to add, etc. Z's are never ending projects.
  7. This is how I did mine. Not the same as what I think you are wanting to do. But I mounted my fuel cell above my rear diff and ran my fuel pump and fuel filter down in line from the fuel cell. I have braided SS -8AN all the way from my fuel cell to my fuel rail and even mounted -6AN fittings on the fuel rail so my entire fuel system is AN fittings and not a single fuel clamp anywhere.
  8. Very cool technique. I might just have to try that.
  9. Are there any vendors or members who have made or make Carbon fiber or fiberglass doorshells for the S30's? I have been looking for a set and have yet to find anything.
  10. I have yet to encounter any issues with Google chrome, firefox fails every now and then and IE just all around sucks.
  11. Well that makes me fell better that there is a class where I can run my car and not worry about if my cage conforms. As when the cage was built SCCA was not in mind...
  12. If you did a flat plate on the firewall and attached them there. I do not see how that would be a violation. Just as long as you do not go through the firewall. Hopefully Johnc can chime in.
  13. This is a lot to take in. Never thought there were so many factors in choosing a tire. Good info though none the less.
  14. What person selling a Z doesn't have extra parts to go with the car...haha.
  15. No it is not legal because it clearly passes through the firewall.
  16. No problem, hope it works well for you. Seam sealant is a pain to deal with. Both removing and applying it.
  17. Wow, those are all really nice. The orange one would be the best one to start, it looks like from the pictures. And because they are on the west coast there is probably minimal to no rust on them. Shipping would be a fair amount. Defiantly good bases to start from.
  18. I hope it fixes your problem Hero. If you ever need mechanical help let me know. I would gladly lend a hand.
  19. That's the point. He wants to remove the seam sealant before he starts welding. As when he welds the sealant is melting out and contaminating the welds.
  20. Good work my man, I am local and if you ever need a hand let me know. Would love to help you out. I am on year 3 of my build, so I feel you on the time.
  21. Any luck on finding out how many splines you have?
  22. That appears to be what he has done. As the stock z32 rear knuckles has a long extended mount point that he appears to have cut off as it isn't used.
  23. No, Apex's information is incorrect. I talked to Les the other day. The Hood scoop's are now made to order. The price for the Fiberglass are 195 plus shipping, he quoted me 45 for shipping as well. He isn't making them in bulk any longer but from what he discussed with me he is now just making them on a order bases. His prices may rise though as is with any small business and rising production costs.
  24. Yeah my samsung galaxy s2 takes some good photos but I have my Canon DSLR for those good pictures you need to take.
