  1. You can run wasted spark with just the inner ring of teeth on the wheel - this is covered in our guide to using this trigger wheel.
  2. What MS variant were you planning to use with this? Low impedance injectors should not be driven full current full time, or they'll overheat. You either add current limiting resistors or hit them with a very short shot of full current and then switch to current limiting.
  3. You can remove the retainer in that case - may be I should add that to the directions.
  4. If you are using coil on plug, it would be pretty easy. It may be possible to put a timing light on an injector wire if not. Haven't tried it myself - with the hardware we have, I would probably use an oscilloscope with a pick-up on the #1 cylinder plug wire and backprobe the #1 injector.
  5. The way the MegaSquirt wheel decoder works, that actually would not be as good. Having the #1 tooth at TDC would mean the missing tooth is in the 30 degrees BTDC area, which is close to the spark advance the engine will often be running. Having a real tooth shortly before the spark advance insures maximum accuracy. So by putting the missing tooth right after the 30 degree tooth (and in many installations, right after TDC) puts the missing tooth in a spot where it won't diminish accuracy where you need it. I'll admit the missing tooth location was somewhat of an accident - but it turns out to work really well.
  6. The decals were originally made for this: http://www.diyautotune.com/events/pri_2011/diyautotune_pri_2011_20000_rpm_death_machine.html We had enough people asking for copies that we thought it would be a good gag to print up a batch of them.
  7. It depends on the MicroSquirt variant. V1.0 and 2.0s would use OptoIn and VR2; V3.0s are the only ones that can use VR1 input (but they can use the opto input instead). Pull ups are required. I'll see if I can get MicroSquirt and DIYPNP instructions added.
  8. Sam - thanks for confirming that angle works on the L28 as well! You're the first one to report back on the trigger angle used for this motor; I had based the article on accounts from KA owners up until then.
  9. TunerStudio going offline is either a problem with the power to the MS being interrupted, or noise interfering with the serial coms. Neither is going to show up in the diagnostic logs. Are you using a serial port or USB adapter?
  10. That shouldn't be an issue; what wideband are you running?
  11. Fixed it now. That was a cut and paste mistake from copying over the SR20 ad copy.
  12. Right, that's why we made a new one in the first place. The RB guys are likely to get native MS3 support for their CAS, plus, that wheel is a bigger pain to swap out.
  13. And I've put up a page on how to use the trigger discs as well: http://www.diyautotune.com/tech_articles/using_diyautotune_nissan_trigger_discs.htm
  14. Thanks, guys! Glad to see this one has gone over so well.
  15. And they are now ready to order! http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/optical-trigger-wheel-for-nissan-l28et-or-vg30e-p-497.html
  16. Almost from the get-go; it was one of the biggest improvements over MegaTune.
  17. Yep, that looks good to me. Alternatively, you can use the pullup on the MS3X.
  18. MS3 will need to be set up for pull ups on the cam and crank sensors, but needs no other mods.
  19. We should have plenty to go around, and they should be in soon, so we haven't planned a pre-order.
  20. I believe they are LEDs, not lasers, but yes, there's two such sensors and MS only uses one of them. (At least, not unless you modify the trigger wheel.)
  21. What firmware are you using? Some options don't appear in all firmware versions, and fixed angle is one of them.
  22. Yes, when they arrive, I'll put a link to where you can order them on the website.
  23. Sure! This is just a simple bolt on option. I checked with the contract manufacturer; looks like the email I'd sent to place the order may have accidentally disappeared. They'll get them to us as soon as they can now. (That's why we don't usually post so much about exactly when we're going to have a product ready; never know when there may be a few unexpected delays.)
  24. If you could put together a list of what features you're having trouble finding information on, I'll get it to the guys who maintain the manual.
