  1. I'm with tony on this one, think outside the box a little and there is a lot of displacement to be had out of the L. Whether it's worth spending the money on over other options (turbo, RB, 2JZ, etc.) is a completely different argument however.
  2. Don't mind me Tony, I meant "furlough" Hmm, F1 you say...
  3. Nothing wrong with that weight! Why did you expect it to be lighter?
  4. Any status updates on the WG design and the coatings Gabe? I'm curious as to the need to put an additional support on the wastegate since it's hanging so far out. Have you had any issues so far? (any roughly how many miles on it now?)
  5. Nice to see a ferrari parked in it's rightful spot, and an engine stand sitting next to it.
  6. I'm closing this thread: most if not all this info has already been discussed in various threads. This thread is trying to vaguely cover so many different topics at once, I urge the original poster to do some reading, and ask specific questions in a new thread.
  7. I have very similar seats in my car too, the only difference is the thigh support is adjustable on mine. Love them! Great seat for the Z.
  8. I thought we required posts to be made in english on this site?
  9. Check the link in my post about 4 up the list, I made a lot more than that with just a mandrel bent 2.5" DP swap.
  10. If you are looking for the exact replica of your setup, so that you can copy a particular package it's going to be tough going. Best bet is to follow Johnc's advice, learn about the options and make an informed decision. Each car is different, but you'll probably be able to get a good general direction through other members trials and tribulations posted here. FWIW, I don't think you want to copy Johnc's setup for the street...
  11. TonyD, I have no idea what your getting at with your jeffp comment, can you elaborate a bit? I wish I still had a copy of the graphs, but here is a thread about the stock downpipe compared with a 2.5" mandrel bent one. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=108578&highlight=downpipe+stock
  12. I thought so too! Considering that as you listed his "issues", Canadian is one... One thing you need to remember, as Canadians we only get 3 weeks of motorcycle weather a year, the rest of the year its a blanket of snow and we all ride around on dog sleds. Besides, its tough to get out of the igloo at all sometimes with all the polar bears around.
  13. Nice work with the relocation of the power point... the starter button... well... to each their own! Nice install though!
  14. As per the Hybridz rules: 3. Please make a good effort to post a topic "subject" title that is pertinent and descriptive of the subject that you want to convey. When you post a thread with a title like “I need help” this makes it harder for the next guy to find what he is looking for when they try to search the database. It is impossible to know what that thread is about so it must either be skipped over or opened to check the content. The title of your post is not the place to be VAGUE!!!
  15. Maybe peak, but that doesn't tell much of the story. Look at your curves again! You made almost 30rwhp from 4800rpm to redline, and 20rwhp at 3400rpm from a much quicker spoolup. Noticeable gains from 2800rpm to redline, serious area under the curve added on the HP side. On the torque side at 5200rpm and higher you picked up 25ft-lbs, no wonder you need more fuel!! Substantial gains from 2800rpm and up. Once again proving, a good exhaust system is the best bang for your buck on the Z turbo motors, and in general, most turbo motors.
  16. 24.5mpg combined driving so far. I can live with that, though its a bit of a hit from the VW TDI's we had.
  17. Damn, that is a good looking car Pete!
  18. Those wheels could be nice with a center repaint and a polish. I'll bet you can sell them for more than you paid for both cars.
  19. Pretty neat. A-arm transfers motion through a pushrod, through the stock strut hole, to the bellcrank. The bell crank transfers the motion to the shock/spring. Interesting little idea they've got there.
  20. Might as well show Pete up by showing a pic of my "other" daily driven bimmer... wifey's car. 2000 528iT 5 speed... lovely car to drive, and I still can't get over how great of a wagon design it is, everything BMW puts into designing their cars as "drivers" they put into making these wagons exceptional for storage, accessibility, cargo space, etc.
  21. So Pete, when are you going to buy yourself a camera and show us some pics? This is almost as much of a tease as when you got your Z first painted.
  22. Have fun driving your Lotus... somewhere else.
  23. Another option, http://www.trucklite.com has LED headlights in 7" round and 12V available, I bought some 24v ones for another application and they were less than $400 each. 10,000 hour advertised life vs. 3000 for most HID bulbs, lower draw, etc.
