  1. Car looks great! Damn I need to lower my rear...it's got lowering springs on it, but it went down maybe 1/4 inch only.
  2. Yeah, for some reason they changed the name from Silverstreak to Bluestreak for the American market...have no idea why.
  3. The s30's had chapman struts in the rear if I remember correctly..correct me if I'm wrong. This debate will continue to rage on as long as there are Z's around..lol. Each one has it's pro's and con's and I really don't think one is worse than the other...."crappy interior"?? They're both plastic and look like the decade they came from..we're not talking about Jags here..lol And as was stated earlier..the S130 base was in fact lighter than the 280 S30's they replaced. In my opinion the two cars were really built for different markets and can't ever really be compared together...they kind of went the way of the t-birds.
  4. ^^I used to have that book too...pretty cool.
  5. do you have any pics of your S130?

  6. Prowl, Bluestreak, and Smokescreen were all S130's.
  7. A manual rack and a power rack with the belt off are WAY different. I don't have any problem with the manual rack in my car, however, mine doesn't have a v8 in it either.
  8. I've done the swap from early bumpers to late ones...once you get them off and sitting next to each other, it's pretty self explanatory. Pretty easy mod. The rear is the most different as the side mounts are completely different from each other.
  9. I've done it several times...I find it much easier to do it together, but that's just me.
  10. Yeah...that's what I was refering to. I noticed after I posted he said he was gonna keep the same style.
  11. Don't forget the little tabs that are welded onto the body for the side molding...and on the rear there is a hole that needs to be drilled for mounting on the side...of course, I did none of this on mine, they're just kind of sitting inside the front bumper and attached in the wheel wells...If that makes sense to you.
  12. cool! Where are you working?

  13. Nope...just got a new job tho

  14. Yep! I'm fine with my lowly stock half shafts...

I was using an '80 motor [Flat top F54/P79] out of one of Steve's trashed S130s, and it started leaking oil really bad out of the Passenger side head gasket. When I did that my timing got messed up, and it turned out to be a bad dizzy.

It was only out of commission for about 3 weeks, but it felt like a month or two :) I have Spring Break this week and I'll be putting in a Ron Tyler diff mount as my lower mount has severed and the diff is banging around back there. Not a good thing.

So I don't know if you guys are going but I'll be on the Spring Fun Run in the S30 next weekend.

Anything exciting going on in Mack's Creek?

  15. I know in the Z31 you have to swap out the dash harness too.
  16. haha No it's cool, it's been relatively dead around here but for the newbs coming in and asking about the usual turbo swaps and 'how do I power up a 240.'

So hearing the 'big wigs' coming back in here for some good 'ol experience is nice :-)

I'm excited about branson, my Z was down for a while, I just got a new head gasket on it and ARP head studs, and I'm installing my Ron Tyler front diff mount this week during spring break. I'm really busy, otherwise your ZXT would already be gone :-) I want to start playing with it.

  17. This is true...I wouldn't think it would be a problem..not sure tho?
  18. Are you going to make it to Branson Z Fest this year?
  19. Mines been like this for over a year...but then I drive it maybe 5000 miles a year.
  20. Cobra...If you can afford it, which it sounds like you can, I'd just do what 2eightyZ4me is doing. $$ is the only reason I didn't do it when I put this setup in my car...this is really a budget car.lol 2eighty...I look forward to seeing your install pics as I will eventually be doing something similar in mine....unemployement really put the brakes on a project!! FYI, this motor was vigorously cleaned and then repainted before it went in...that's why it's so purty..lol. Thanks for the compliments tho!
