Here was my scenario: Driving down the highway at about 60-80, listening to music, thinking about how safe my Z is in the rain, when all of the sudden *BAM* *CRASH* *BOOM*, the rear end of my car dropps to the ground. I slam on my brakes and drift in a zig zag patern trying to stay in my own lane. I slow down to a hault and get out of my car..... The right/rear side is sitting maybe a few inches from the ground. Luckly some police and road workers stop to help. I have my vehicle towed, and inspect the dammage. Apparently the bolt that goes through the bottom of the rear strut that holds it to the controll arm had shaken loose and fell out. My car had dropped to the ground and had been resting on the stub axles CV joint. The boot was shreaded. After trying to dissasemble the CV joint to replace the boot I noticed that the end joint seemed to be machined on in some way. Contacted a local axle repair man, brought him the stub axle and had him replace the boot. upon reinstallation I noticed the other bolt holding on the left side was nearly falling out too.. Kind of a crazy scenario. I will post pics later if anyone cares.

I just purchased a tokico set and suspension techniques springs for my zx. Do you have any tips for the installation? Should I purchase new controll arm bushing first? Thanks!

Its an 82'. The sunroof looks to be after market (noticeable hacking at the the roof). I actualy just had the sun roof welded over and taken out. Its now cleanly shaved with more headroom then ever! Also the restored headliner from the parts car (notice the green tarp) fits perfectly and matches up with the mounting holes from the previous hard top head liner.

Thanks for the quick response! I think I might drop by an auto zone. I checked my Local Pep Boys and Car Quest, but yeilded nothing usefull. Are you sure my local Parts store will have a silicone Kit for this old vehicle?

while cleaning my injectors I ended up breaking this tube because of the horrible dry rot. (Mine is not silicone of corse. Yanked this picture off of someone elses site) Anyone know where i can buy this pre-formed tube? By the way my car is still functional with the crappy broken tube. The argument started over me telling her that she was stupid for wrecking her 240sx, and seizing the enging in her 3000gt by knowningly running it without oil for months, which were both purchased for her by my family. Then after she ruined those 2 cars my mom and grandma decided to buy her a 2005 altima..... the argument escalated once I told her she was a slut for sleeping (had sex) with a friend of mine (who is a complete dickhead to begin with) Pics of the dammage will come soon

Ive had the same issue happening with my NA 1982 280zx. After letting the car sit for a few hours, then attempt to start the engine and take off, upon hitting the gas my engine will seem to be cutting in and out of actually igniting. Just replaced 3 of the small vacume lines.... not fixed. Once the engine builds up pressure the issue dissapears quickly. Also one of the injectors seems to have gas leaking onto the outside. I will post pics soon, also I will try replacing the coil. Would it be wise to replace the coil with a proformance coil with the rest of the engine stock? im thinking about doing more upgrades to the engine, but dont really know where to start.

Where did you purchase the gauge cluster? I need one for my s130. Will this work on the US left hand driver version? Thanks!

so you like the HPs? what springs would you suggest, now that the eibachs are discontinued? thanks

So I was going to get upgraded KYB GR-2 cartraiges for the front, some KYB Gas-a-just shocks for the rear, suspension techniques sway bars, and one of the eibach 1" lowering pro kits Time goes by waiting for the parts to come into my local pro shop. Pro shop calls me and tells me that the Eibach springs have been discontinued! The guy who helps me out over at the proshop said that he could find some suspension techniques springs for my ride, but i let him know that I was going to look into some other options. What would you guys suggest? Also do you think there are still distributers out there with the eibachs still in stock? The dastun was manufactured march 1982 280zx Also would you fellas suggest i buy a bushings set, and or bumpstops before i start replacing all of these parts? Thanks alot for the help

Zmanco, Was this the post you were referring too? I cant find any other posts in this thread where someone is talking about upgrading the front brakes on a 280zx. I am vary sorry if it is clearly stated somewhere, but i am having trouble finding the correct information. Thanks!

Will the Toyota brake upgrade work on a 1982 280zx? Also will the rims have clearance? If so what materials are required? just the calipers and the new brake lines? Or do I need to do the rotor upgrade at the same time? THANKS!
