  1. I have an 82 with the same issue... I replaced my tranny fluid with ATF, and my diff fluid with 80/90. Im still seeing the issue.. although i think this is a normal problem for the zx's from what I hear. I am going to have my tranny rebuilt soon though. Hopefuly with the rebuild I should be quick shifting in no time
  2. I have a 280ZX that used to have a sunroof and it sucked. The whole thing was put in aftermarket, and was the biggest flaw in my Z before i had it welded over. Now its one big spot of primer, -50 pounds, more head room and a fancy looking headliner... Ive got to say, with leaking in mind....... SUNROOF Z = NOOOOO. My Z is oven in the Texas weather, but its better then having all of my other parts I just installed ruined by the rain. Ill post pictures later
  3. Did you photoshop that tint? Must be 5%, looks darker then any other tint i have seen before. Looks sweet
  4. If you didnt use photo bucket I would be able to see the pictures Thanks photobucket
  5. I found this thread pretty helpful, as i am also trying to modify my 1982 N/A 280zx to have a little more punch on the gas. I was also looking into an MSA cam. The one thing that concerns me about mega squirt is not having my vehicle for a while and not being able to get to work. Has anyone ever heard of a mega squirt installation that went smoothly and could be accomplished over a weekends time? Im thinking i might have to buy another Z to drive first, that way I will have more time to tune. I am also thinking about soldering the MS togeather. -Ben
  6. I have this same Issue with my 280zx 2+2! the clunk. I shall check out the mustache mounting points soon.
  7. I would love to see a source for s130 specific info! But yes as 280zxfromdiego suggested the name does need to changed.. how about www.dirty130.org? or .com
  8. I agree, I would be down to buy one of these
  9. Ohhhh The Texas Heat Wave. I know the guy who won this show last year with his supra. Me and his daughter are pretty good friends. We should rally up some Z's for the show.
  10. Where in austin? Is it a Z show? Ben
  11. I am still trying to locate a spring to fit on the rear. I called MSA and asked them if they knew of a spring for a 2+2 and they said that they assumed the non 2+2 springs should be fine. Does anyone have any thoughts an wether this will make much of a difference on the track?
  12. Rick, Before your order the Tokico kit make sure that it is compatable with the 2+2 model. I actualy just installed the tokico kit on my 280zx 2+2 and found out that the rear springs are not rated for the 2+2 model. The car drives great, it just seems as if the rear of the car is sitting a little too low. I am now having trouble locating springs ther are made for the 2+2 model, and dont think I will have any sucess.
  13. Does anyone know where to get one of these not through ebay? I dont have an ebay account and dont think I am going to anytime soon. I googled the hell out of the name and didnt come up with much. And yes that melted stamp looks like crap
  14. UPDATE: I called tokico and they have advised me that the rear springs are not rated for the 2+2 Model. Does anyone know of a distributor who sells the rears? By the way the car handels really nicely with the current setup... but as you can see the rear sits pretty low Thanks
  15. What wheel setup would work best on an 82 S130? Will the RBs that have the 4 lug setup work directly with the s130 without lug converters or spacers? Currently my s130 is 1 inch lowered; what wheel setup would be best for clearance and no rubbing. Thanks
  16. Hey 80LT1, Your strut tower covers look great! mine are all burnt and cracking. Did you do any restoration on them? What material? Thanks
  17. Thanks. This would have been useful to me before I paid for my tokico set. . Do you think konis are better then tokico?
  18. This article is killer. More inspiration for my ZX. I like the way he has the tokico setup with the ST sway bars, just like me
  19. I drove the car around with the front shocks on and it drives great. Takes turns quicker then i could ever before. The ride hight is a lot lower. Not sure if its actually an inch drop or more. I forgot to measure before i made the swap. Does this look normal? Also here are the parts I installed http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=123144 Basicly this kit. Only purchased somewhere else http://www.racinglab.com/tok-hpp-hpk255.html
  20. I just installed the rear tokico spring/struts on my 280zx 2+2 and the new spring did not even have to be compress onto the strut assembly... IN FACT when the top mount was screwed down the spring could move a good 3 or 4 inches up and down when the car was not sitting on the ground. Whenever we dropped the car we just made sure that the bottom of the coil was seated in its groove. Is this a normal thing for lowering springs? Any advice is much appreciated. thanks ben
  21. I think what they call this is a 280ZX
  22. I just replaced my sway bars with suspension technique bars and this was apprent on my controll arms.... I dont really have access to a welder. Do you think it is absolutly necessary to correct this? Should i take off my controll arms and take them to a machine shop or somthing? Thanks
  23. Heres my 82' 280zx N/A. Stock so far. Installed Suspension technique sway bars (front and rear). This weekend I should be installing my tokico shocks/springs, and a cool air intake from MSA This is my first car, Gotta love those S130s
  24. I have the tokico spring shock combo set, and I should be installing them on my 82' 280zx this weekend. I just installed the suspension technique sway bars yesterday. Car drives completly different.
