  1. anotherexpensivehobby ............nice car you are about to buy i would check all the wiring in the bay engine area, what alternator he's running? i ran a 130amps alternator on the stock 280z body harness+ fusible links, my alternator went bad once, and the fusible links were on fire well, not only the fusible links, 1/4 of my engine bay was on fire... be carefull
  2. WOOOW great progress and love every detail about your car.....man you are giving me bad bad bad ideas about getting a 8.8 at the back of my ride instead of the R200, shortened to be able to stick 15x10's with nice BFGoodrich 275/60-15s BTW, i'm really interested in your engine mount, is it possible to tell me where to get one from, or a chart with the dimensions so i can fabricate one. great job and can't wait to see the finished projects. thanks
  3. hi guys, well since i'm having problems with my stock SC/MC setup and my old dual friction clutch, i decided to do a clutch upgrade to my 302 powered Z, knowing that i'll be sprayin a 150HP dry shot. photos: wilwood MC/SC, braided -4AN hose, -4AN fittings. 7/8 MC SC -4AN fittings RAM powergrip HD clutch kit rated to 600HP the whole kit + the pilot bearing i will start working on the car tomorow, will drop the tranny, install the clutch kit and the wilwood setup. thanks to ThomaZ who gave me all the info needed for the wilwood setup. i've been told the RAM powergrip HD clutch is better then the Centerforce dualfriction one, if anybody has comments/ advices, please dont hesitate, i hope this new clutch upgrade will work well. thanks
  4. hi guys, my clutch is here will drop the tranny tomorow and install the clutch kit + the wilwood setup, hope it will turn out as goos as i want

WOOOOOOOOOW, i love those flares and the wheels too, sounds like a really fast Z
  7. i would check the fuel injectors too, maybe they are plugged with dirt
  8. I HATE SUNROOFS, please dont do it to a Z please
  9. WOOOOOW, great car IMO, i would have changed the front bumper for a new air dam. any photos of the engine?
  10. x64v......love the car and the wheels, what are those?
  11. hi Ed...... i know it aint bull$hit because i've been sprayin 150 shot for 5 years now, and swapped the engine into my Z and i'm going to spray it again all my internals are stock and never had a problem with it on the street or the track (talking about my mustang)..... thanks God i found someone who loves NOS as much as i do maybe i'll stop sprayin if my car runs 8 flat!! maybe. but wait, if i spray it, i'll be in the 7s LOOOOL
  12. hi guys, just to let you know that i haven't worked on my car yet, since i'm dropping the tranny and my clutch is old (1999) , i thought about buying a new kit and install it, went to 3 local shops here in kuwait and they don't have any high performance clutches, so i ordered a new RAM powergrip HD clutch from summit instead of the dual friction one that i've been using for the last 8 years, i should receive it in 5-7 days and install it with the new MC/SC setup did any of you guys try this clutch? i've been told that it's much better than the dual friction and holds up to 600HP!!
  13. WOOOOOOW, i love the car and a very very very clean engine bay well, if you only want an additional 75HP, i dont think you have to change anything except for the timing, your timing should be between 8 to 10 degrees, i dont think you need an extra fuel pump for a 75hp shot, if you go 100hp and more, the inline boost pump from NOS (15763NOS) is a good one. on my 302, my timing is set at 8 degrees with stock spark plugs (gapped at 0.32) and 98oct pump gas (kuwait) for my 75HP shot, i haven't tryed to install the 150HP jets yet, maybe next week, i only have one Bosch fuel pump and its working great with the 75HP shot, not sure if it will be enough for the 150hp shot, i'll have to check it on the dyno . but let me tell you dude, even with the 75HP shot, you will have alot of fun i think shaving 0.9 second on you ET will not be a difficult task.
  14. Hi lilredZ and welcome here sounds like a strong Z you've got, would you write more details about the car please, a nice list of mods would be cool and photos too. about your 50-100 additional HP you want, i would say supercharger with high boost capacity so if you ever think about passing the 600+HP, you wouldn't need to buy a new unit. for now, set the boost to what you want. and why not NITROUS? i love it
  15. hahahahah great job Justin, and i think the hoodie they put on is worth more than 300 bucks now LOOOL
  16. i started this thread for 2 reasons: 1- i just love to see the transformation that Zs go threw 2- to motivate members and guests with any unfinished projects BTW, my car was a stock white 1977 280Z with a blown L28 engine, 4spd tranny and a rusty body back in november 2006, by march 2007 (4 monthes later) i'm driving a 500Z powered by a 302 ford engine/T5, lots and lots of mods, NOS, a fresh paint job with a custom made air dam and a new cowl hood so it is possible for everyone to finish his/her project and have fun with it. GOOD LUCK
  17. bschiltz, i'm sorry but this is my opinion, i dont like the ZX's at all, whatever you do, they will never look as good as the 240/260/280Z never.
  18. IMO, sell the ZX and buy a 280Z, spare yourself all the pain. another thing, 280Zs look much much better than the ZX, but still this is my opinion. i would never install a V8 in a 280ZX, they are not worth it, once again, this is MO.
  19. thanks God and i do agree with you about doing this right the first time. good luck and we need progress photos
  20. would you please send me the same box as a birthday gift on April 30th?
