  1. Congrats! Be your own boss! I like your logo but still made this for you. My gift to you. use it or not. Good luck with the company. ERIC
  2. I want to remind you all that our e-mail is davyzmikellyeric@yahoo.com... ERIC
  3. Beware of the "others" who never post here!
  4. White heavy weight printer paper is very good for sketching.I never enjoyed sketching on vellum paper. Stay away from AD Markers.(they have great colors but they are not so "precise" on any kind of paper except for vellum and they`ll give you a headache after awhile ) get prismacolor markers instead. Sharpie pens are great for small details, great color variation too. If you want to sketch on something a little better, you should try Canson papers. They have different types. Good luck! ERIC
  5. You`re getting better Max. I like the chrome effect. You should use white prismacolor pencil to define white reflections. Also: There is no shame in using "guides" when you do illustrations/renderings whatever you wanna call it. Use, french curves, ellipse guides, different types of rulers. It`s the result that matters. If you have any questions, feel free to ask! ERIC
  6. Just back from NY... You have to sign up for the contest on or before June 15 2007! You have to turn in pictures of your customs on or before June 30 2007... I will post sample pictures to show you what "angles" we are looking for! You have to name your custom. You have to tell us briefly what parts you used to build your custom.(this includes material you used for scratch-built parts) What we are looking for is "detail". Not just exterior detail but also "interior" detail. Yes, I built a "dragster". Please, if you want to build a dragster/funny car/pro stock/pro street car, be my guest!.. Just do it... Have fun and best of luck to all of you. Photo tutorial coming soon!(No, I will NOT show you how to take pictures, I`ll show you how to take diecast pictures!) ERIC
  7. Great! Let`s take a roll call... So far, VeritechZ Chewievette 280Zforce and wigenOut-S30 are in! Did I miss anyone??? Whoever wants to join, I recommend he/she reads the whole thread from the beginning first. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. 99% of you have never done this before but you will see for yourself that messing with models is a lot of fun! Especially if they are affordable! I will be in New York until Sunday night. I will answer all your questions once I`m back. Meanwhile, anybody can join the contest. Just post a message here that`s all! Best of luck to all of you and have lots of fun! ERIC
  8. I really feel bad for these animals. No food and sometimes no water. Most of them die from starvation before they are 2-3 yr old. Very sad really... ERIC
  9. The biggest dog I`ve ever had was an apollo great dane...Pepper spray sounds like a good idea! Thank you!
  10. I`m not taking any chances...I`d rather be fat than dead ERIC
  11. 3 black bears were spotted near my house in Bradbury. http://cbs2.com/topstories/local_story_135150201.html 2 of them in my inlaws` backyard...They wanted to use the hot tub according to my father-in-law who called the cops. A mother and her cub that ran away. A third one was caught a few days earlier after he used a neighbor`s pond. The problem is, I run every morning in the same area to get back in shape. And I didn`t know that bears can run in excess of 30 mph! (faster than Carl Lewis:shock: ).I`m pretty sure a hungry bear can run even faster What do you do if you see a bear? They can run, they can climb, they can swim:redface: ERIC
  12. I also like the "Blackbird" and the "Messerschmidt ME-109". There are so many great planes from WW2. American planes are my favourite although I find Junkers JU87 Stuka remarkable as a dive bomber/attack plane. Very slow though... Justin, I`ll be in NY until Sunday night. I`ll do my best to make it on the 27th! ERIC
  13. P-51D Mustang...Beautiful design... P-38 Lightning is another great design... Of all the newer aircrafts, I must say the B2 has the most amazing look... Comanche is a close second... ERIC
  14. e-mail received! I sent you a reply already...Just a few tips regarding picture quality...You`re doing a good job Max! ERIC
  15. Good idea! Please don`t send pictures to each other!... Max, take your time. Patience is the key...
  16. Dave, better get another model or use krazy glue... ERIC
  17. I guess I`m gonna have to give away a "most enthusiastic contestant award"... This is what this contest is all about: Fun and enthusiasm. It`s not about winning. As JADA TOYS we always encourage customizers. It doesn`t matter if you are a pro or a beginner. Just try and do your best and have fun doing it. As you know, DavyZ, Mikelly and myself will pick the TOP 5 customs. And HybridZ members will pick the winner after a poll. We will pick the "Most Enthusiastic Contestant" candidates from those who will not be in the TOP5 and again, HybridZ members will pick the "Most Enthusiastic Contestant" after a poll...This person will receive a special prize!... Just do your best. Best of luck and have fun! PS: I know, for most of you this is the first time. If you think you are doing something against the rules or need advice on JADA models feel free to e-mail your questions to: davyzmikellyeric@yahoo.com Take your time, be patient and take "clear" pictures like the ones I posted. ERIC
  18. Here`s what a rush job looks like:-D I didn`t really have time from work to use acrylics and go into detail, instead I used sharpie marker pens...Flames, as you can tell are freehand... You can sign up until june 15..Due date is june 30! good luck to you all and have fun! PS: Dang! I forgot the chute and the wheelie bars:redface: ERIC
  19. Thanks...I`m sure you will come up with something real cool... Looks like a foot rest or something. Was that a `72 Z option???? ERIC
  20. I worked on this about 5 hours. This is a very simple custom. There isn`t really anything interesting about it. But I hope it will give you some ideas. I used parts from 3 different cars and one 18 wheeler. These are: Engine, supercharger, scoop, rear end and NOS bottle from 1956 Ford F-100 Inter-cooler and seat from Mustang GTR Pro street tires from any BigTime Muscle car with pro street tires. ie: Fuel Cell came from a 1/32 RoadRigz hauler.http://www.jadatoys.com/products.php?id=2263&category=Road%20Rigz&scale=32&dir=-1 I want to remind you that I work for JADA Toys and I`m lucky enough to have access to many parts cars:smile: Mirrors and bumpers deleted. I will add freehand racing graphics on this car using acrylic and markers. Headlights will be installed afterwards. I might add sponsor decals which I printed out using sticker paper. Removing glass is very tricky. I don`t recommend it. Instead try to mask them inside and out using(duh!) masking tape. Because of the valve covers and the radiator I wasn`t able to use the original hood. I might leave it like this or create a custom hood. The quality of the pictures you will take and e-mail us, is MOST important!!! If you must, use photoshop to balance the light but do not modify the model itself! A yahoo! e-mail account will be created just for this contest. It will be accessed by DavyZ, Mikelly and myself. Here are the pics. Any questions? feel free to ask and good luck to all of you! Yep...It used to be orange... Racing graphics will be applied soon! ERIC
  21. The car is finished but I lost daylight and can`t really take a decent picture...I`m taking it to work in the morning. I`ll use our light-box to take some nice pictures! Tomorrow before noon for sure! ERIC
  22. People can join until june 15! Due date is June 30... I do believe our model is Hybrid enough. As a matter of fact most of our models are hybrids/customs...And yes, I work for JADA toys. Is there a better 1/24 240Z hybrid out there for the same price?...My custom Z sample is almost done...It`s nothing too fancy. I think I`ll be posting pics at around 7 pm PST... ERIC
  23. Still working on the sample custom...But I`m sure it`ll be ready by sunday afternoon. A few more people decided to participate this week. More the merrier:grin: ERIC
  24. The Short Wheel Base Sport Coupe Quattro(Baby quattro) is still considered one of the best rally cars ever built and it is an extremely rare car. What do you think are the possibilities of a Group B event in the US? Or maybe something similar?...
  25. I guess it is safe to say "he had it coming"... About Group B cars: It is really sad, 99% of those cars were not really available to the US. Peugeot 205 T16, Lancia Delta Integrale Evo, R5 air turbo, Ford RS200 and Escort RS Cosworth(for obvious reasons) and the Baby Quattro... I get to see some of these cars once a year at the French-Italian car show in Burbank,CA. These were my dream cars. Well, at least we have our Z`s and 510`s... Although we don`t have any events like the Group B here in the US ( safety issues????).. They banned a Corvette commercial saying children might want to try to drive their parents` cars, I wonder what they would do to the idea of creating an event like this-Mothers against rally cars anyone? BTW, almost every Group B car is AWD...I wonder if anybody tried to build an AWD Z? ERIC
