  1. The cometic is only a 3 layer gasket, FWIW, whereas the tomei is 5 layer. I'm sure people have had good luck with the cometic, however I've never heard anything bad about the tomei.....
  2. I got mine from RB Motoring, I am a tomei dealer however my US distributor had run out (sold their last one to RB) so I had to pay a bit more in order to get it by the time I wanted it.
  3. I'd recommend finding a Tomei gasket kit. It comes with the HG, intake mani gasket, all TB gaskets, exhaust gasket, and even an oil restrictor for the head! Its usually 350-400 bucks but it also beats paying repeatedly for the paper gaskets
  4. If anyone picks up the latest edition of Nissan Sport Magazine, you'll see they used a picutre or two from my write-up, and they also mention my forum http://www.rbz32.com
  5. No, I have a 30-1621 which is for any skyline rb/25 or 26 from 89-98......I have an R32 motor
  6. I dont believe you're going to get what you're looking for, with a budget of 800-1000 bucks
  7. Guys I've eliminated a ton of things on my motor, and in doing so, I'm left with quite a few open vacuum/coolant connections. To ease this process, I've taken pics of every connection I need help with First display we have here is the Fuel Pressure Regulator, The throttle body fitting, and the balance tube fitting. Notice I have the FPR tied into the throttle body. Since these pics were taken, I have been advised to route the FPR to the balance tube. I take it I should do that, and then cap off the throttle body fitting? Second display we have is the front of the IACV unit. It has two fittings that come out of it. I have temporarily just used a vaccum hose and looped it to one another. Is this correct? Next we have the rear balance tube....I currently have the red line going to my MAP sensor Here are the two hoses that come out of the backside of the IACV. I currently hav these looped together as well. Also there is a smaller fitting on the bottom of the plenum (accepts 5/16" line) that I have temporarily capped off, is that correct? Lastly I have the rear cooalnt lines. I am aware of where the actual heater core hoses go, however there are two lines coming off of the coolant system. I believe they get routed back into eachother, can anyone confirm? Thanks guys
  8. I assume she'll idle pretty rough until any tuning is done and all the little things are fixed. I have several vaccum leaks, and this was just a basemap that came with the AEM

  10. Yes, It was the first time I've yelled out loud with enjoyment since I can remember, my g/f heard the car start up from all the way in the house(detached garage) and came out to see what all the racket was about! To everyone regarding the last clip, I was at NOPI in St Louis and there was some girls dancing on stage and I had probably drank about 10 beers so naturally I'd be pointing the camera at that!
  11. I cant believe I'm actually typing this but after almost a year of being heartless, My Z fired up with the RB26 tonight. I have been working every night for the last week relentlessly getting all the wiring and the little things done, and it feels so good to hear this beast start up. Obviously I have alot left to do, but this is a HUGE hurdle in the project. I think I woke all the neighbors up in the process.... Here's the vid! Oh and the last little clip was from NOPI like a year ago, had to get some Ho's on tape, lol!!!! http://www.booztd3.com/Videos/RBZ32_1.wmv I'm not going to sleep tonight, haha
  12. Guys I made alot of progress with the wiring over the weekend and I am happy to say that the car actually cranks under its own power! After going through all of the shitty wiring diagrams I had on hand, I really believe the wiring is quite simple. The biggest pain was actually getting rid of the unecessary plugs/wires from the rb harness. I have a HUGE ziplock bag full of them that were removed. I will be trying to document this as well as possible, but I will wait until the car actually runs to post up, just to avoid posting any errors I might have made. Now all I have left to do is find a dropping resistor box for the injectors and finish up welding a dump tube and it'll be ready for go-time!
  13. Guys The wiring diagrams I'm finding in the PDF manuals are pretty much sucking. Seems like the letters are too small and its impossible to blow them up. I'm going through the harness trying to figure out everything I need to get rid rid of, and am not having much luck because of the lack of diagram Thanks in advance
  14. No problem, as long as you accidentally leave a blank evenlope containing 2400 in cash in your mail box
  15. Hey JT, you are David's neighbor correct? We spoke on the phone the other day and he mentioned his neighbor had a 280 with an rb25/th350.......
  16. Precision states I need to run a -10 line drain, so I'm trying to figure out what I need to do for a fitting on the side of the block. I am running a GT42 turbo
  17. Guys I'm starting to piece together my oil feed/return setup for the turbo and I'd like to know how you guys are retrofitting AN lines to the oil return setup. I pulled the plug out of the block and just by judging it looks somewhere in the 22-24mm range, but I have no idea if anyone makes a fitting that size to convert to AN -10 Anyone?
  18. Time for an update! I got the car back from the exhaust fabricator today, and I started getting to work assembling everything. Here's the progress so far Finally back in MY garage, I missed it while it was gone.... As borat once said......'VERY NICE' My bling-bling parts table.... Tomei 5 Layer exhaust gaskets Manifold on, wastegates & dumptubes on Turbo on, and clocked Downpipe on... Radiator & FMIC mounted Engine Shot BOV on the IC piping Obviously there is still alot of work left to do. I need to figure out the vaccum hoses and everything that needs to stay and go, I've got all the wiring to do, I need to figure out the fuel setup, run the turbo feed/return lines........Hopefully I can have it all ironed out in the next few weeks and get it fired up!
  19. These issues have been covered already but I'll reiterate.... The RB25 or RB26 bell housings are identical, so you dont have to go scavenge a bell housing from an rb25. The gear ratios between the Z32, RB25, and AWD RB26 trans are all identical, and they all use the same synchros and internal parts.
  20. No more modification will be taking place. The marker line was just to indicate where the IC pipe would be traveling, we had to bend the metal a little bit in that area. We cut the turbo because there was a huge v-band connection sitting there. I would have had to cut a huge hole in my fender well and then take the IC piping over by the tire in order to get that to work, which IMO would have been way more work than what we did here. The elbow is a 3" diameter, and the OD of the compressor was 3.5" and almost 4" around the V-band flange, so if I would have even gone to all the work to make the v-band setup work, I would have effectively been wasting a 1/2" considering my IC piping is 3".
  21. Sub-Par camera phone pics, but we got the IC piping all done and the dump tubes as well
