  1. Not that fast. He (yorgee) was following me back to justins house after a meet and we were only doing about 75. He has since reinforced the air damn. Search his SN and you will see it. On the topic of speeds over 100mph. I had the opportunity to once take my car (s30) to 150mph. The car seems to get lazy in steering (lag in response). The sounds was also deafing. The wind noise was insane. I could not hear my engine over the noise. Im hoping some of the data in the windtunnel thread about blocking the giant s30 mouth will help alleviate the problem. Im pretty sure the s130 would be way more stable without that giant mouth and all the other things nissan changed since the s30. When I had a 280zx it seemed pretty planted imo.
  2. Cant wait to order mine. Looking good bo.
  3. You got those pics for me?
  4. Trying not to cut up the car. But maybe i can somehow move the radiator to the front of the car and angle it? Wouldnt this do the same concept? Ill do some measuring to see if it will even fit or is worth that much work. Id like to refrain from cutting the car. Makes sense. But it would have to go down before it went to the sides but I get what you mean. I was thinking to basically make a shallower (skinnier) version of the front piece on the back side. Where the rectangular piece is now on the front piece, would be where i would split the air to go on either side to the brakes. Ill make something out of card board to better show my idea. I dont think it would be too much work considering I was going to put the car on the lift anyway to stretch the air dam lower, using aluminum on the same way people are using the Home Depot door molding stuff (Im going to try and angle the aluminum though instead of straight up and down), and build a belly pan while im down there. Stretching it lower should get the pan closer to the ground like its suppose to be anyway while giving me a bit of clearance to tuck the back side of the radiator exhaust to the brakes.
  5. Hmmm. The only way I see that I can keep the angle less than 12 degrees is to shorten the actual top of that leaving the radiator "exposed" behind the second piece covering the main "mouth" of the car. The other option would be to extend the bottom out and have multiple angles in it. So instead of one angle in the the goes from the opening to the top of the radiator make it two angles. It would technically still cover the whole radiator and keep all angles under 12 degrees if im visualizing it correctly. To get the sides to be under 12 degrees though I would have to make the rectangular opening wider. As far as continuing it on the other side. I have been trying to think of a clean way to do it. I saw the recent "radiator exhaust" thread and have keep my eye on it. Think is I would like to refrain from cutting up my hood or my car. I did get the idea of pushing the air down and outward towards the brakes. But I would think that would create lift If im not mistaken?
  6. No sir you are not crazy. The car is not being driven but I needed to get the car on the ground til I order new lugs and studs. So yes thats 3 lug nuts. Good eyes.
  7. Ha I dont know if joy is the word I would use haha. I really wanted to borrow the water pressure from work and hit the whole bottom of the car before I started to work on it like I had done with Aziza. I never got around to that (obviously).
  8. Thanks. For right now we actually have a "top secret" solution I will share when its done and on the car. I will keep you in mind though if the solution doesnt work out.
  9. Thanks prox. Here is a straight picture to better visualize where i want the "ramp" the air up.
  10. Here is the aston martin I mentioned earlier. Notice how the air is "ramped up". Thinking of making a mini version of this inside the rectangular area in the picture above on my car.
  11. Alright people, so I been lurking in this thread for a while and seen everyones wonderful ideas. Also did some reading in the windtunnel thread and decided to give this a shot. I even did some snooping around at http://www.gurneyflap.com/focus.html And came up with this cardboard model. I hope to make the final product out of aluminum. My camera died so I have to take another picture of the second piece that "covers" this one and blocks the front of the car. That one will also have airduct to cool the brakes. Ill post pictures of that one soon. This is the only picture I have of it. This would be the "inside". The air would first go through the a/c heat exchange deal then to the radiator. I was thinking of using spare weatherseal to better seal it front the duct to the a/c and also around the radiator. I also think to add a "ramp" in the little mouth opening to push air up. Idea came to me while looking at the front of one of the aston martins on the website above. The shape of the aston martin mouth is somewhat similar to the mouth of an s30. Just an idea anyway. Ill keep everyone posted on the progress. Suggestions welcome. Ill try to take better pictures tommrow. Let me know what you guys think. As you can see I would like to keep all the stock hood hinges, hold up mechanisms and even the grill in front like before to hide everything. It seems to be very doable. Anyway its late. Ima get some sleep.
  12. Send me pictures. Ill make another trip down there.
  13. I need these things badly to get my car running. -s30 automatic transmission shift indicator for center console -s30 automatic transmission-under-car-rod-assembly (those threaded rod things and the rectangular end piece) -240z fuse box I prefer local pick up but if price is right shipped to 92627 costa mesa ca. WORKING ON A BUDGET SO MAKE ME A PACKAGE DEAL PLEASE!!!!
  14. Bringing back this thread. I havnt destoryed an alternator since this thread. But its still in the back of my mind cause I didnt really change much. Here are pictures of how everything is hooked up. Maybe someone will see something obvious? Excuse the mess. Some wiring changes were happening when the pictures were changing and the car had been sitting a while.
  15. What paint did you use for the under body? or is that the color of the Eastwood rust encapsulate?
  16. Yes you are correct. It is a 283. My mistake. The car is coming along. 5 lug conversion is nearly done (little things left). We got some temporary 350z wheels cheap until our budget premits up to get the wheels we really want to fill up the flares. Might have the motor fired up this week sometime (need a 240z fuse box to finish up wiring). Ill post an update with pictures soon.
  17. Tell me you saved me those from signal mount I pm'd you about!
  18. I miss my e30. why did I sell the damn thing.....
  19. Id be intrested in a fiberglass version. Possible group buy?
  20. haha I did. Although an ls1 would be amazing, Ive been dreaming of swapping an s52 motor in an e30. I ended up selling that e30 sadly. But only cause I want another one! A better motor swap candidate (later model).
  21. btw im open to other shocks. Illuminas would be nice though.
