  1. And a turbo exhaust manifold
  2. Alright little update, I got a turbo and a downpipe. Im going to buy supra turbo injectors online unless someone has a set they would sell me for cheaper then $150. Im now looking for.. FMIC Wideband o2 and gauge fuel pump 280zx turbo distributor blow off valve supra 440cc injectors
  3. Just picked up a Garrett AVO turbo. Casting number on the exhaust housing is 449010-1. The compressor wheel is twin scroll. Its oil and water cooled. I also got a msa downpipe. The turbo has a 5 bolt downpipe. So I need to cut and weld the old down pipe flange that came with the turbo to the new downpipe. I am not sure what flange is on the turbo but it doesn't look t3. But I can fab up an adapter plate. Also Tuesday I get paid so I'm going to pick up some 515cc high impedience supra injectors. Now I just need the dizzy, manifold, fmic, oil feed and water feed, boost gauge and wideband.
  4. Quick question, are thease the correct supra injectors? http://www.ebay.com/itm/SET-OF-6-NEW-FJ57-FUEL-INJECTORS-TOYOTA-CRESSIDA-SUPRA-1989-1992-3-0L-6Cyl-/111345272477?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A1989%7CModel%3ASupra&hash=item19ecb2069d&vxp=mtr Im about to buy thease but want to make sure they are the right ones
  5. Hey guys, Im looking for a 280zx turbo manifold, turbo, intercooler, 280zx turbo distributor, blow off valve anything turbo related I might be interested. Thanks
  6. Thank you all so much for showing some interest and giving me advise instead of dogging me about posting a redundant question. The block is F54. I took a snap on camera probe inside the spark plug hole to check the pistons. They are dished. So. The engine calculator states that I should have 8.2-8.4 compression. Depending on which calculator you use. The n47 is round but if you put a square port exhaust on it fits. You can't go square to round. But you can go round to square.
  7. My motor is fast already Its a turbo motor with a cam and a port job. It is twice as fast as my old stock motor that I blew.. anyway I am just looking for a little more omph on the top end that being said I am comfortable enough running 5psi daily and maybe 10 if I take it slow to make sure my motor can handle that boost. But of course everyone knows once the turbo bug bites... it bites deep.. So this is my plan as of now (might change over the course of time but who knows) I already have a turbo motor. I just dont have the turbo. So my shopping list consists of Turbo manifold stock turbo (or simple T3) with internal wastegate at 5psi 2.5 down pipe and full exhaust 280ZXT dizzy 280ZXT oil pump (if I don't already have one ill have to check) Cheep front mount intercooler so no J-pipe needed Intercooler piping turbo oil line kit Tap my oil pan for the return line 280zxt injectors (I have seen some 400cc l28 injectors floating around the internet that may be an option as well) I am going to make a custom fuel rail as well I already have the fittings for it. Blow off valve because every turbo car should go choo choo (MCM reference) I have a brand new 280z clutch i can throw in as well boost gauge Wideband o2 I think I am forgetting something.. I have the list written down somewhere. I am going to post a thread in the for sale/trade section because I have some parts lying around that maybe I can trade or make some money for my turbo build. If anyone has any parts I may need please feel free to pm me.
  8. I have no problem swaping a complete turbo motor into my car, the only contributing factors are 1) I need it done in a weekend (not to hard i have done it before) and 2) I need to source a good running motor and in socal junkyards is not an easy find.. I just wanted to turbo my motor that I have because it is already a turbo motor but if I swap then I have a spare if I happen to blow the turbo motor.. So I guess I have some thinking to do and some part sourcing. The reason I liked the msd idea was because it is a stand alone thing and I like all the features they have like spark cut rev limit and 2 step. So now I guess I need to find a tuner who is familiar with Megasquirt and start sourcing a motor. Ill keep you guys posted
  9. Thats me haha. Headers 2.5 exhaust and a cat that's it.
  10. Another question I have is if I get the 280zxt dizzy does it have a trigger wheel for megasquirt or do I still need to get the trigger wheel and sensor from diyAutotune?
  11. So I currently saving up my money right now so I can go on a shopping spree of turbo Goodies and before I make all the purchases I would like to run my shopping list by you guys for your input. My current setup is... F54 block n47 head Dished pistons I believe Megasquirt II 3.57 assembled board with relay board as well running fuel only (needs to be tuned) 5-speed 3.9 diff soon to be welded Shaved and ported intake with 240sx tb Stock Injectors Headers (not relevant with a turbo I guess) My plan is to run 5-10lbs safely Its my DD so I am afraid to blow it but I have the ability to rebuild it..... again.... The motor is really strong and I am a very spirited driver. Anything I throw at my car it can handle. So I think the motor can handle boost. Things I want to buy are.. MSD 6al with spark rev limit and I think they have boost retard. I don't have a 280zx dizzy so I am wondering if I can run Megasquirt fuel only and use the msd to handle the spark. (is it possible to run the stock ing? Im worried about detonation..) Turbo manifold Stock turbo and wastegate cheap intercooler BOV 2.5 inch down pipe boost gauge and eventually a wideband. I work right next door to Mckinney motorsports and a few other race shops so I am going to ask around for a good tune/dyno shop. I am also wondering if the stock injectors can handle 5-10lbs of boost if I increase the fuel pressure and maybe the pulse width(duration) of the injectors through megasquirt? I know everyone is going to tell me to get turbo injectors or rx7 injectors but im on a budget so anywhere possible to save money im going to take it. I have done alot of research on the subject and I think I have a decent beginner setup I am just wondering what your thoughts are on my build before I spend the money.
  12. I did the ground fix about a year ago. The one that phill posted. I dont have low or high beams. Nothing. I have the wiring diagram and I highlighted the whole headlight circuit I just need to find the time to do it. I might tonight if im not too tired. And the alternator I used was from a 280zx.
  13. Alright I fixed the alternator issue! I ran a wire from the Batt on the alternator straight to the + on the battery leaving the original connector still in place because it did not work right when I disconnected it. Then I ran the S on the T connector (yellow wire) to the batt terminal on the alternator so that it will have 12v constant, I cleaned the ground with sandpaper on the connector and the body of the alternator, and everyting works correctly! My volt gauge works, the alternator light works, my battery is getting 13-14v. I guess my only other question would be could I run a ground from the alt to the body for safe measure or would it be pointless? Other then that it works great so far. Now all I need to figure out is how to fix my Headlights..
  14. Can I run Batt on the alternator directly to the battery + terminal? Or would that cause issues
  15. So, I have a 1977 280z 2+2 and the voltage regulator went out. Causing my voltage gauge to turn off and only work with the engine running, not charging my battery and most likey sending voltage spikes through my car. Anyway I had an old internally regulated alternator lying around so I had it tested at pepboys and I swapped them using the wiring diagram from atlanticz. The voltage gauge still does not show anything, until I start the car. Then it shoots up and hovers around 16v. but the alternator is putting out 15 and the battery is at 12, but was slowly charging so I thought nothing of it. well today I had torn apart my interior trying to trace down a shorted wire in my running lights circuit and I had grounded out a wire accidentally but it made my voltage gauge work correctly. But when I accidentally shorted the batt terminal on the alternator it started doing the same thing again. No voltage on the gauge when key off, acc, on. Only with the engine running. So I had found the short in the wire to my running lights and I ran a jumper wire around the short but the lights don't work when the car is off, acc, on like they use to. The lights only work with the engine running, and then shut off when the engine is turned off. And also my headlights stopped working, but the fuses are not blown. Im not sure if its just because my battery wasnt being charged and had gone down to 11v when i tried to turn them on but they always worked before. I only had probems with the running lights blowing their fuse. On a side note I have removed the combo switch and I use individual switches for the running lights and headlights so the combo switch is not the culprit this time. Any ideas on whats going on in my car? It has been a real pain and I am tapped out on ideas. I tore the whole car apart. Nothing is grounding out. the fuses are all good. I did the maxi fuse box upgrade on the fusible links and all thoes fuses are okay. Im just lost now. I have had this car going on 7 years now. Im so frustrated I might consider selling it and buying another z and start fresh. (...maybe)
  16. Im looking for the Victory wing from msa, not the bre. Im checking Hybridz first before I buy it from msa. Maybe I can get a better deal.
  17. I'm looking for a set of fender mirrors for my Z. I'm interested in the plastic remakes that they sell on eBay but I thought I would check here first that way I dont have to wait so long for shipping. I want the plastic ones because they are a lot cheaper, but if anyone has a real set for a reasonable price I might be interested.
  18. I'm looking for a cheap stock rear diff that I can weld the gears in for weekend drift events. I think its just an open r200 with 3.57 gears. If im wrong please correct me. I'm in socal.
  19. Hey guys I need a little help. I used the search but couldn't find anything specific to my standards call me picky I guess.. Anyway, I just bought megasquirt 2 v3.57 with the relay board and harnesses. Map sensor. I have made a whole harness already and it's ready to be installed and wired up. My engine setup is a NA setup. f54 turbo block. N47 head. Flat top pistons. 10:1 compression. 240sx throttle body. 6-2-1 headers open cat. 5 speed manual. Stock ign. Brand new injectors. (Pretty sure they are stock cc) NA dizzy. Im looking to run only fuel. Not spark. I'm ready to set up everything and was hoping someone hear could lend me a pre tune for me to build off of. I know for a fact I wont find the perfect tune I just need something to get the car started so I can get a road tune. Any input is greatly appreciated.
  20. Want to buy or trade for A set of turbo injectors for my project. Stock turbo injectors that will fit to the stock rail, or supra/RX-7 400cc injectors with the rail to fit them. I have a post in the for sale forum if anyone wants to trade.
  21. I have a L28 freshly painte needs rings and bearings. N42 block and n47 head. 6-2-1 square port header. And lots more. PM if interested in anything.
  22. hello hybridZ I have a ported intake with a 240sx TB on it left over from my old motor. I swapped motors from stock to a f54 n47 flat top 10:1 setup. I want to swap over my 60mm TB to my new motor but i'm afraid that I might run too lean with the stock ecu. Do you think this will happen or am I in the green?
  23. Looking for just a block and head that don't need extensive rebuild. Basicaly i'm looking for an easy block and head swap for my car. I dont wan't to have to machine the block and head or replace main bearings. I can do a valve job and gaskets. I can pick up the motor if its near. Ill even pull the motor myself if needed.
