  1. Ya man no prob. The relay is located behind the glovebox. It is mounted on the wall right beside the passenger fender under teh dash. If its a pre 1980 i think is just one relay, mine was, on later models, it was 2 relays interconnected. I think they sell the individual ignition relay and acc relay. I actually ordered mine from the dealer, it was the cheapest i found. I think it was like $59.95. Hope it works for ya man. -Tyler-
  2. I did a full ST spring, swaybar, and bushing kit combined with tokico illuminas front, and kyb gas adjust shocks in the rear. This setup is awsome. it definitely is stiffer than the s130's previous suspension. I run the front illuminas on the 4 setting.
  3. Mines a 79 s130, all i have done is your basic wieght reduction, gutted the insides, and pieced everything back together. Went from steelies to factory toyota supra wheels (13lbs a piece) Falken tires, 10.5lbs fidanza flywheel. replaced my fullback seats with momo fiberglass START 2007 seats (18lbs a piece), i cant remember what all i did, but i took the car to my local gravel place and used their scale and wieghed in at 2594lbs, pretty lieght for an s130. Im about to put some 15x8 watanabes on with some wider tires, that will increase the wieght some as well. Im looking into 12 gallon fuel cells.
  4. This issue sounds similar to the one i was having. Theres two ways of going about fixing it. First, the cheapest, is to check all the fuses. If its not a fuse, i would check your ignition/ACC relay. This can cause what you were talking about. mine made the blower go out, and the signals, all my guages, and such went out. Good luck, -Tyler-
  5. ya man, im going to get some parts today, if i hadnt done the st springs tokico illuminas, and kyb gas adjust shocks, it would have been worse. I went up under the bumper and the hood took the impact. Oh ya, i blew a brake lin in the rear, when it was raining. It should be fine thoguh. Next thing after getting it painted, my budy is selling me some 15x7 watanabes, for 300 bucks, then im putting hankook rs-2's in a 225/50/15 on it. heres some pics of the car after teh wreck. sorry bout changing the subject.
  6. Good deal man. Makes me sad when i see a z with a straigh body, i wrecked mine on thursday. so its not perfect anymore. but congrats on the buy!
  7. Was the slave cylinder or the casing around the slave cylinder wet or gunky? How bout around the master cylinder? It could be a seal. if so i got a slave cylinder for like 8 bucks at autozone with a lifetime warrenty. Its prolly worth replaceing anyway.
  8. I have a quick question, and i know im going to prolly get hatemail or something for not looking throoughly, but i have read through some articles and read about swapping r200 diffs into a 240z with an r180, but i cant find anything about swapping an r200 into a 280zx r180 car. I have a january 1979 s130 manual 2 seater, and im not sure what diff i have. What are some ways of identifying the diff type, and gear ratio? I think its a r180 with a 3.36 gear but im not posative. and what would swapping a diff from an 87-89 clsd invlove. I need an lsd for autox, im getting fed up with not cornering to my max. anyway thanks. -Tyler-
  9. Prolem solved. i had a bad ignition relay, and a bad power wire to my ignition box.
  10. so im having a bad electrical problem at the moment, its been going on for a while. I have a 79 model, and there seems to be a short in my electrical system, but i can pinpoint it. None of my guages work, my ac blower doesnt work, my turn signals dont work, radio doesnt work, occasionally the car will die randomly. the funny thing is, everythign works when the key is on ACC, then when i turn to start, everything goes out. I replaced the ignition switch and that didnt solve my problem, i checked every fuse one by one, and they are all fine. im venturing to think it might be the ignition/acc relay. I need help, this short is getting the best of me. thanks
  11. So i just got my suspension in the z and it is amazing. Theres a hairpin i used to take at 40 now i an take at 55mph. Its extremely rough riding, but its worth it. This is the best mod i have done so far.
  12. I have a 79 s130, i just got done doing the suspension techniques spring, sway bars, front tokico illuminas, and rear kyb gas adjust struts, all new polyurethane bushings, and it is incredible. It cost me around 800 for everything, and thats including all my bushings, including the control arms and rear crossmember insulator. The beswt investment ive made in the car.
  13. I dont want to go through the hassle of putting larger valves in and new valve seats. Ive been reading that the p90 heads had the best quench for flattop pistons, and that they had the largest vlaves and steel seats. im not sure at the moment what head im goign to build right now, as far as heads go. im trying to get more ideas, im going to be runnig fuel injection still. right now ive got the n42/n47 combo, i have a january 79 s130. the block is from an 83. its an f54. i own 3 heads, p79, e31, n47. im about 600 feet above sea level, im in north georgia. my goal is to have a streetable engine that will run 93 octane at 600 fett above sea level. Any more suggestions?
  14. I want to build a p90, because i dont want to have to do all the work on th e31 i have. my buddy works in a machine shop, and hes going to do all my work for free, plus the p90 is the best flowing head. im just going to shave it down and build it, and then fit it to my f54 1mm overbore block. ya im going to do a lieghtert hood in the future. i got some supra wheels, bored the hubs out, and painted the spokes graphite, and left the rim polished. i dont have any pics of them yet thgouh.
  15. im trying to build one at the moment. Its used for autox, i have done suspension, your normal bolt-ons, and a little internal head work and crank balance. Im building an f54/p91 combo for all motor. and ive done some wieght reductions and went and wieghed the car and it was 2594lbs. And the interior isnt stripped to hell. its the pic in my avatar. ill try and post a larger one.
  16. im not going to ha ve to unbolt the thing from the floor am i? just from the bottom of the car right?
  17. do you recomend painting everytihing? ive already got poly bushings and new swaybars and threy are amazing. now on the insulators, i could only find rubbe3r ones. my existing insulator has rotten away, and there is only th espring left inside . lol so its about time.
  18. I have a friend that wants to sell me some wantanabe wheels, im really thinking harder about it now, after seeing that. would it be a crime to paint them?
  19. Ya i understand what you said, im not attacking you, it just sounds like you did the same thing to yours as mine is, and cams dotn really do anything unless teh compression is bumped up, and if it took 2 seconds off your quartermile, then your compression is not stock. i put a cam in and it didnt change my quartermile at all.
  20. theres no way a stock zx could run even a 14.2, that motor in your zx-r probably had higher compression than stock. i rebuilt my zx motor, and put a cam in it, and i was only able to run high 15's, no difference from my stock cam, accept my powerband was higher. i ran 140 in my car, but i have alot of headwork, and ive adjusted my cam and ignition timeing, and alot of othe rgoodies i dont have room to list, and im still in the 15's, what are the numbers on your head and block zx-rkid?
  21. Ive looked around, and i cant find anything about the s130 rear crossmember. Im trying to figure out if you can replace the rear crossmember insulators with the crossmember in the air, or if i have to take the crossmember off to do it.
  22. ya i have some supra wheels im working on right now, i paited them graphite with a polished lip. im goign to be running a 225/60/14 on them. those are my dailys, i am buying some avon slicks for my 15's for autox. Im also running the 1 1/4 front sway bar, and a 7/8 rear. it should be a nice setup, i just cant wait to get it out. but it might take a few weeks, due to fuel tank repairs, due to blown struts. I am also interested in all motor build if anyone has any useful info. I have an f54 flattop block on the stand, but i cant decide which head i want to try and build, i have a n47, p79, and an old e31 laying around. I can always find another one around as well. anyway, thanks guy. oh ya, i forgot to tell you its not my daily, its my resto-mod, im trying out new things on it, so ideas are welcome.
  23. sweet dude, how does it drive compared to stock? do you know the spring rates for the Suspension Techniques springs, i cant seem to find them?
