  1. The guy that had my car was a delta engine mechanic, and i figure, that by tieing into the brake booster, it pulls vacuum on top end, advanceing the timing more on top end. Now that i fixed it, it does feel more sluggish on top end.
  2. Ok, so the line i had on my 79 model went from the ignition advance like in the second picture, but instead of going to the throttle body, like yours, it went to the vacuum line going into the brake booster and t'd into that. But i changed that, its now like yours.
  3. DO motorsport springs, or ST springs and illumina struts. Its just right i think, for a street car.
  4. DO suspension for sure. You can get a cherry bomb muffler for only like 30 bucks at autozone. Def suspension.
  5. Ya thats what im going to do, I just wish i had an o2 sensor to see what my mixtures were so i could see where the leanest part of the power band is.
  6. Google stores, it was back in like january of 2007 though. The drivers side requires a bracket being made, but the passenger side just needs new holesdrilled in the momo bracket.
  7. Thanks, that helps a ton. Ya its hooked up right. The guy that had the car before me had the vacuum advance T'd into the brake booster, has anyone ever heard of this?
  8. So, if the bcdd squeels and whines when you decel, is it broken you think? Mine pulls a ton of vaccum right now. I think its advancing my ignition timing more than it should. WOuld it be better to just plug it bcdd?
  9. Do you want racing seats or do you want something somewhat practical? I Put momo Start 2007's in my s130
  10. spray some ether down in the intake and see if it will start up on the ether fumes, if it does, then its something to do with fuel delivery.
  11. It wouldnt be a bad idea put a wideband 02 sensor with a guage in it though, thats what im going to end up doing. Im having issues with the motor missing and running lean now that i plugged the egr and put 2.5 inch msa exhaust on.
  12. Wow, thats kinda scary, I wish the photos of the damage were still visable, i would like to check mine, but im not exactly sure where to start, ive been running energy suspension tc rod bushings for almost a year and a half. So your saying on the front under the radiator support, change that bushing out for a stock rubber one?
  13. hmm thats wierd mine came off with mo problem. Id probably cut them and splice in new connectors.
  14. I used the gasket that came with it. The problem occured randomly, nothing to do with the header, the header heas been on for years, i just changed the gasket out because my old stock steel one leaked. I think its a mixture problem or an ignition timing problem. Does anyone have a good timing setup they like for a stock 79 car with IHE and a stock motor?
  15. Heater core, mine did that for years and had to fix the floor boards afterward. Mine was leaking from around the intake pipe on the core.
  16. Ya i had had problems in the past with the wts, and replaced it, but it seemed to flood the motor before, i think i may replace it again, its cheap and couldnt hurt.
  17. ok will do, can the temp sensor in the 79 model affect the mixture at all?
  18. Mine is a january 79 and it doesnt have an oxygen sensor, and it has "no catalyst" on the hood too, so it doesnt have a cat.
  19. ok thanks guys, i retorqued thegasket, and it still runs a bit lean, but itdoesnt really backfire anymore. I did a little reading in the efi bible, and it sounds to me like the mixture spring might be wound too tightly, but im not sure i want to go in and tamper with it. Is there a way to get fuel mixture readings on the car if it has no oxygen sensor on it? I have a port for one, because the header came with it, but the car didnt come with one stock. again thanks for the help.
  20. Ive heard about the efi bible but what is it? No i dont have any oxygen sensors, its a january 79 model. The only emissions stuff it had stock were the carbon canister and the egr. thanks for the input
  21. I have a 79 s130 and i just replaced the intake/header gasket, and it was like a kind of paper gasket. I torqued it to the 15 lbs that the manual recomended, and it ran fine for about a few weeks, then it gradually started running rougher. I have no exhaust leaks, but i do have a header with 2.5 inch msa exhaust all the way back. It kinda hisses when you accelerate, sounds like an exhaust leak, but its not leaking, and it seems to come from inside the MAF. It also run smooth then gets rougher as it warms up. ill also mention that i plugged the egr. so it was a little on the lean side, so i richened it up a bit. It also started backfiring a bit, i thought it was because it was rich, but i leaned it out and it still back fires, the back fire occures every time i let off the throttle, it just starts popping bad. Does it sound like i might have a intake manifold leak and jsut needs retorqueing? or are there other underlying problem that arise when pluging the egr? anyway, thanks guys.
  22. I was wondering just about the same thing, I have a 79 na, and it idles really rough now that i plugged the egr, and it back fires on deceleration, but the plugs are fine, nice light tan color. Just put a new manifold gasket on, and it has crane cams ignition. I have no cat, but i have a 6-2-1 header, 2.5 inch pipe all the way back. I havent removed the bccd, yet but im really thinking about it.
  23. I cant remember where i bought it, I want to say i bought it from Centerforce directly.
  24. ya i did, he checked the flywheel first and said it was fine, its a fidanza aluminum flywheel, then he put the pressure plate on the fly wheel and balanced that.
