  1. you can use the connecter to your ignition box under the right side of the dash, connect to the white wire, and your fuel pump will only run when the key is in the run or start position, thats what i did when i had carbs on mine. it worked like it should have till i decided to put the FI back on.
  2. well you cant win for losing, but it was a good idea! LOL i will keep looking and thinking of new ideas for our wonderful Z-cars!
  3. well its been a long time since i have been reporting on my thread, the good news is the L26 is still running excellent! I just did an oil change and put in a new set of plugs( the engine is running perfect according to the plug reading) it is getting around 23-26 mpg hwy, and around 18 city. the five speed in it is just about done for, I have a 5 speed from an 81 maxima i am going to use. any ideas what the difference in gearings are? I have put on an old set of zx wheels from an 82 and they look ok on the z but till i find the right wheels-17 in. should be about right- I will be installing a new to the car 1.25 inch sway bar I found in an old z we are tearing apart due to massive amounts of rust! the car is done, but the parts are ok!
  4. I really hope to see you at the msa show, Joe!
  5. can't wait to see it in person on sunday! at the MSA show! and finally meet the man with the plan.
  6. btw how much was the adapter plate? because i am going to be putting a maxima trans in from a 82 max for the time being
  7. LOL i know, I just watched it and it must have been quite windy in there without the doors and hatch!
  8. just toadd to this discussion, i did a little head work on an E88 head and made it work with the fuel injection N42 non EGR manifold from my old N42 L28, it worked no problem! but i resorted to going back to carbs because I still had a low vacuum issue that i had with the 28. so I have an L26 that can sue FI as well
  9. every day i get a chance i drive mine, which is just about every day!!!!

  19. LMAO!!! awsome burnie! tome for a new set of halfshafts!
  20. another idea is to check that your throttle body is closing all the way, and also check your idle screw on the top of the t/b
  21. look into getting a radiator for a 78 280 at the J/Y and make sure it comes out of a car w/ AIR and maybe even an auto transmission. I live in the desert in so california and it gets just as hot here as it does in tx... i used to live in dallas. anyway that is what i am using and i dont have any heating problems, just dont forget to change your hoses and thermostat before you get to rockin!
