  1. Off topic, but I'd like to see what your shop would do to the interior of an S30 Z.
  2. http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/open-element-iat-sensor-with-pigtail-p-62.html There's really only 2. closed and open element. With a turbo you want the open element b/c it responds faster
  3. Uturn. The hard way http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=1193729
  4. A few I was rather proud of http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=975484 http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=976526 http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=1019828
  5. Hahaha That is the last thing I need with school starting again soon. Its awesome!
  6. I got a bunch of sap on my daily driver one time. I went to a wand wash which had lots of pressure and nice hot water. It took a little while, but eventually I got it all off with no damage to the paint.
  7. Love it. Are there any more from different angles? I'd love to see it in profile and what the rear would look like.
  8. First. Congrats for your accomplishments this far. capacitors must be installed with the proper polarity
  9. My Wednesday night project. Does anybody else use satellite radio in their Z? Where did you mount yours?
  10. http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/innovate-gauge-only-red-p-170.html I've rewired it once already, and made sure the ground is good. Next I think I'm going to make sure its getting good power. Its not always stuck on 14.5 it moves +/- 0.1 once in a while, but its completely random. Usually between 14 and 14.6. I've re-calibrated everything and updated the firmware and no difference.
  11. The Audi is FWD. My brother seems pretty keen on this one. I agree that RWD would be the most exciting. I'm kinda leaning towards the suzuki though. Super light and you can rev the piss out of it.
  12. Hahaha thats awesome!!! Did it go together well?
  13. I'm not completely satisfied with mine either. It works fine for sending a signal to the ECU, but the output to the gauge only ever gives me 14.5. Has anybody else had a similar problem?
  14. My brother and I are looking at getting into some rallycross later this fall and we're looking for something (under or around $500) that we can strip down and beat the crap out of. + We'd like something that would be fairly competitive. List of vehicles we've found in our price range that we're considering. 78 280Z $400 runs but there's lots of rust 89 Suzuki Swift GTi - needs head gasket - $500 86 Subaru XT AWD Turbo - no spark - $200 86 Audi GT Coupe $500 body damage 83 VW Rabbit GTi $1400 high comp pistons + Head work - newly rebuilt 90 Toyota Celica GTS $500 needs some engine work 84 Toyota Celica GTS $500 doesn't run - owner says it needs a fuel pump 86 Mazda RX7 $750 I'm not too knowledgeable on rotarys. What would you choose? Or, What would you use if you were going to build a rallycross beater?
  15. Ya I pulled it off the stock rail and mounted it in front of the valve cover. I just ran hose from the front of the return on the fuel rail and through the regulator. I don't think you'll need both regulators
  16. I used the stock fuel pressure regulator on 11 lbs of boost with no problems. But I was also using megasquirt and 440cc supra injectors. Just last week I bought and installed a new Aeromotive boost referenced fuel pressure regulator. $170 CAD. You can probably get them cheaper in the states. Car parts always seem to cost so much more up here.
  17. Why would a compression ratio of 8.1:1 be too high? Forgive my ignorance, but what factors does one consider when calculating the ideal compression ratio? Doesn't an RB26dett have a compression ratio of around 8.5:1?
  18. Thanks for the info Daeron. Before I did the turbo swap I was running an L26 with the e31 & triple webbers. It was a blast to drive but it was getting old and was burning lots of oil. I had to rebuild something and I decided to rebuild the turbo motor instead and the L26 has been sitting in the garage the past couple years. Running the e31 might be something fun to try. How much would the compression ratio increase with the swap? Would it oil and cool properly? Also just for interest sake, what's an e31 head worth?
  19. I searched but couldn't really find much. Has anybody have experience fitting an E31 head on the L28ET block? I've got an E31 (needs a rebuild, but has extensive porting and larger valves) just sitting and not doing anything so I started thinking; "say... I wonder if that would work better than the P90 I have in the car now?" I think would have to get the intake ports cut out for the fuel injection. What else would it take to get it to work? and would it be worth the effort?
  20. No We were waiting in the pit before the race to try and see her and paul tracy, but we had to leave before the drivers got there.
  21. Thanks David. It was an incredible experience. Here's the photos from Saturday.
  22. David you're awesome! Thanks again. I'll be sure to take and post lots of pictures. Mark. When's the Calgary Z Club show? I'll have to make it down there and meet up with you.
  23. That'd be incredible. I'd hate for something like that to go to waste.
  24. I'll be in Edmonton all week. What's up? edit* nm just caught the previous post.
