  1. Its really easy to make one. Just get some new line and a flaring tool and you can re-use the original hardware.
  2. I have used just the mechanical pump with triple webers before with no issues.
  3. I'm no expert on this stuff, but I did a quick search for 'edis v2.2' and there are a lot of threads on here that may answer your questions.
  4. Here's some good reading that will probably help you a lot with your install. http://www.diyautotune.com/tech_articles/how_to_megasquirt_your_280zx_turbo.htm http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=88246
  5. Thanks for the offer, but I'm going to stay away from this scam.
  6. "I am selling the car at this price because i divorced with my husband and after the divorce i owned this car, now as a woman i don`t need it (i don`t have driver license)....We will use eBay`s protection program for our safety." Almost identical to what she said to me in the email!!!!!! Oh wow! Thats insane! 'she' sent me an email invoice that looks legit e-bay but the email address that it came from was - trading.assistance@financier.com
  7. Thanks for all the input guys. Sounds like it is a scam. She stopped emailing me as soon as I asked for the VIN to do a Carfax report.
  8. Thanks. She sent me some pics. Does anybody recognize this car. Its from Toronto;
  9. I was on an online classifieds site last night and I saw a low mileage 1992 300zx (non turbo) listed for $2,xxx.00. I figure that it probably should read $2x,xxx but I email the seller just in case. A few emails back and forth with the seller and this she tells me -$2xxx.00 is the correct price (but she's won't go any lower - darn) and oh ya she'll ship it for that price too. -about 70 000 miles -went through a divorce, doesn't need the car (she doesn't even drive) - She want's to use "only eBay Vehicle Purchase Protection to complete the sale" - She sent me pictures, very very clean car. I want the car bad and the price is a once in a lifetime chance but I'm just wondering if I give her the money through e-bay is there any way I could get screwed with the deal?
  10. Sorry I can't answer your question, but are the Brembo calipers much bigger than the regular ones? My brother's 350 only has the regular ones, but it still seems to stop pretty good.
  11. Yup you need a different manifold. So you might as well take that n42 off and give it to me. jk I'm not sure on exactly what the difference is, but you're ok with the n42 manifold.
  12. I have very little experience with the iPhone yet, but the way things sound here is bluetooth might be the easiest way to connect to Megasquirt (probably with something like this - http://www.usbgear.com/computer_cable_details.cfm?sku=USBG-BT-0240&cats=158&catid=158 hardwired into the car so I don't need to worry about batteries). What other options are available for connecting it? I don't think wifi is a very viable option. Is there any way to physically connect it? I think the biggest hurdle for this project might be creating the megatune application.
  13. I think that being able to tune megasquirt from my phone would be awesome and super convenient + having the color touchscreen display in the dash would be a +10 on the cool factor. Has anybody got this figured out yet? What would it take to get it setup?
  14. Advice from my father that I live by: "There's 2 things in this world that you never lend out. Your car & your girlfriend"
  15. Crank case vent. Usually connected via a hose to a valve in the intake manifold.
  16. Not the greatest photos, but from what I can remember it looks similar to my V3 board.
  17. Also, I had problems lining my return line up with the oil pan when I changed turbos. I ended up cutting the stock return line just after the flange and running a hose from the flange to the oil pan. No problems as of yet.
  18. You might get some oil but not under a lot of pressure. I don't think that the restriction would affect the performance of the turbo, probably just the long term reliability.
  19. I saw a red one up here. Very sexy. Really I would expect the high maintenance costs. Seeing the numbers it puts down and the cost to actually buy one I wouldn't expect any less. In my opinion, and knowing how much I would actually drive it (especially living in Canada) its not that unreasonable. For comparison's sake, what would it cost to maintain something that puts down similar numbers? Like the Porsche?
  20. If you just want to get it running and keep it around stock power stick with the factory system. If you're going to be increasing the power a megasquirt system will probably save you a few headaches. (and probably cause other headaches too)
  21. What are your plans for the engine? A little wide for a Z isn't it?
  22. Seems like a lot of work and you still don't have the right tool. http://www.canadiantire.ca/include/products/inc_product_zoom_display.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441899719&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=282574488463487&bmUID=1223171004592 Use one like the big ones in the middle
  23. The first time I took a rotor off of the hub I ended up messing up the threads on the hub b/c I hammered on the bolts which were half taken out. Don't do that. Had to get a hub off of a parts car in the end. Sometimes you have to get it started by forcing a wedge between the hub and the rotor.
  24. A little brute force and ignorance - Don't force it, just use a bigger hammer.
  25. Why microsquirt? From what I understand microsquirt is basically the same as MS2 with a V3 board in a smaller package. I think there's some differences with the inputs and outputs as well.
