  1. I've got everything sitting in my garage for an auto to stick conversion. Email me and we'll set something up. Bernard
  2. David, I've got the manual for a '90 300zxtt I've got access to other years as well. Let me know what you need. Did you get my email? Bernard
  3. Any problems with this? I may stick instead of rebuilt auto if this will work. Bernard
  4. Where are the injector resistors located in an 81 turbo? Bernard
  5. Seeing as you're going to mess with the fuel pressure here's an idea. Connect dvm to o2 sensor and a fuel pressure guage to fuel line. Squeeze return fuel line while keeping an eye on o2 voltage. Record fuel pressure at point the ecu can no longer take out fuel or starts to run rich. Do the math to tell what cc's your injectors were flowing at the recorded pressure. This should tell you what the max injector size is for the ecu. Now you only have to reduce pressure to get max injector size to flow approx 260 cc's. Does that make sense? Ecu would have to be closed loop and engine fully warm? to do this. Just an idea. Bernard
  6. The extra pin goes to the trans computer for load detection. Bernard
  7. They're the same. Do you need wiring diagrams? List of what to change? Email me and I'll send it over. Bernard
  8. 2.131 Minor, 2.750 major, for a trim of 60. > (min/major)squared X 100 = trim Housing is a t04b with .60 a/r Is this a good combo for my hybrid? Seems to be about a V trim acording to turbonetics. Bernard
  9. I think they've got over 30 cars as well as at least 5 bikes using the megasquirt system. The only extra software needed is if you want to switch to alpha N. That's as simple as downloading new code to the controller and away you go. The people on the list fall all over themselves to help newbies (similiar to this forum). I've got a system put together but I haven't installed it yet. Downside is you can't control ignition yet but a couple of guys have the megajolt system running but no group buy yet. Bernard
  10. Sorry I didn't catch that you had an 84 eccs. BTW how did you get the 370cc injectors to work?
  11. I've got all of the above. What is your knowledge of motorola 8bit mcu's? What year of eccs are you using? Do you have an eprom burner/erasor. The prom is a basic 27128, I forget the exact p/n of the prom. I've got the code out of my 86 ecu. 84-85 ecu's have 24 pin proms that I can't read, and the ecu's have some Nissan exclusive chips that run a lot of stuff that are impossible to find data sheets on. I looked into using an rb20de ecu but never got a wiring diagram so I don't know how hard it would be to adapt. The rb ecu's are hacked enough to use larger injectors. JWT completely change the code from what it is in stock ecu. They also make hardware changes. Until someone with a jwt ecu comes forward with the code and compares the stock ecu to jwt ecu I think we are all sol. Do a search for romtune or rom tune, you'll need a japanese to english webtranslator found here:http://babelfish.altavista.com/tr and a good page to check out is here: .http://ww5.enjoy.ne.jp/~seiya.z31/index.html I'm about to give up trying with this whole idea. Probably going accel dfi or something older like that when I find one for a good price. I've got all winter to think about it. In the meantime I'll help you as much as possible. Bernard
  12. Can the non turbo distributor be replaced by the turbo distributor? When going to a turbo ecu setup? I think you can do it by pulling the shaft out the bottom and replacing with the shaft with matching distributor on top, but it's been so long since I've worked on a non turbo I'm not sure. Bernard
  13. Tony, I'm the guy with the code out an 86 turbo ecu. I've learned quite a lot about the code in the ecu in the last few weeks. I'd be happy to help with hacking the code. I'm setting up a test board with all the sensors simulated for testing the code. Email me anytime. Anyone willing to help out is welcome to email me as well. Bernard
  14. Does anyone have the wiring schematic for the rb20de/rb25de? I'd like to see how different it is from the vg30 eccs. I think they are a single coil setup but I don't know if they use the same optical sensor. What could one of these be bought for at the wreckers? Bernard
  15. I found out last nite that the mods for the 4sp are the same as the mods for the 3sp. I've also got the # for the tranny shop that did the turbo 400 swap. Bernard
  16. I've talked to a guy who's got a turbo 400 bolted up to his L6. What he did is leave the datsun flexplate, made a 1" adapter with the datsun flexplate pattern and the gm flexplate pattern. The gm flex plate bolted onto the backside of the adapter. He also had another 1" adapter made for bolting the the tranny to the block. Seems simple enough. No dicking with the starter. He bought aftermarket linkage stuff etc to finish it off. I don't know how two flex plates would effect drivetrain losses. He told me the name of the shop that did it for him but I can't find the #. I'll get the # and post it if anyone's interested. 240z Turbo: could you email/fax me the specs for the jatco mods? (valvebody drilling) Bernard
  17. My auto trans is in need of a rebuild after 110 thousand miles. My problem is I can't find anyone that knows anything about the strength of the Jatco unit. I have a t04b compressor ready to install but I need to address this first. I've got a 5sp NA with all the necessary conver sion parts but then a clutch becomes the problem. I guess I'd like to know how much abuse it can take , and where can I get some performance parts/info for the auto. Bernard
  18. Hey Ron, is your computer a JWT conversion or a home brew jobbie? Bernard
  19. This is where I'm at with my ecu (300zxt-'86). I've found the formula for how the engine calculates the idle pulsewidth. K*(Q/N)=Basic Pulsewidth. K=injector constant, Q=air quantity (maf voltage converted to hex value) N= engine rpm. I have found the maf conversion table and sort or, but I'm not sure if it's right yet, found the rpm value location. I know where the fuel, timing, and a bunch of the conditioning maps are. As soon as the injector constant is found we are good to go gentlemen. The rb20 guys downunder are already doing this with their cars. IF THERE ARE ANY SOFTWARE GUYS ON THIS PAGE THAT ARE GOOD WITH THE BASIC MOTOROLA PROCESSORS EMAIL ME!!! Bernard
  20. I had a p90a head checked when replacing a bad head gasket. I reinstalled the head and the car is burning oil. They told me to drive it for a while to see if it would go away. 3000 km's later it's still smoking. I bring it back and they replace the valve stem seals. No change. I changed out the head to a p90 and brought the p90a in to see what was up. Three of the seals are broken. This guy has worked with heads for 30 years and never seen anything like this. What would cause that? When they changed the seals the second time he found some wet seals but didn't know why. I've got pictures is somebody wants to see this. I want to sell the head but don't want to rip anyone on a piece of junk. I just can't see why this would happen. Bernard
  21. Do you have a link to your home page? Bernard
  22. Thanks for the info. Do you happen to have a copy of the wiring diagram/schematic? I'm after how the ecu fires the coils. It may work with either the single coil or the coilpacks. In particular I'd like to know if the coils are energized through an external transistor like the L28et and vg30et. Are any message boards out there with the rb20's as a topic? Bernard
  23. Can anyone tell if the Rb20det was sold in Nissan's in Austalia. Does the engine have variable valve timing, coilpacks, etc. The reason I ask is in researching info for the code inside my 86 eccs, I've found Japanese pages with all the tuning points inside the rb20det. I know the rb20det was available in the Z31 in Asia so chances are the wiring is the same or similiar. May as well use the rb ecu if it can be made to work as injector size can easily be changed (I've seen as high as 650cc) as well as different maf's can be used. Bernard
  24. Guys, I have the old JWT code they used to convert the 86 300zxt ecu to work with the 280's. I have tried this code several times with no success. JWT does some hardware mods to eliminate the extra 300 sensor's as well as modifying the code. The puzzling thing is the JWT fuel maps are not a whole lot different to the stock maps. The info I have is available to anyone who asks, in the hope that someone is able to find the changes they make or able to modify the stock code to work with larger injectors. I have a feeling it's easier to effect injector sizing with hardware than with the code. I have a Megasquirt system ready to install but I'd rather have the 300zxt ecu running the show. Any software guys that want info just ask and I' ll tell you what I know. Bernardd
