  1. Pondering about getting these for christmas.. either these or Sportmax's. Theyre going on a white car so I think black wheels one a white car would look decent.
  2. truck intake is FUGLY as hell... I dont have money to put anywhere else Christmas money is going towards wheels and tires - 03 Cobra style black with 245's on front 275's rear
  3. Yulp, goin with the JCI Shaft Thinking about skipping out on the LS6 intake and just saving big money and going L92/L76 heads/intake. People have been making insane power with that setup. In Hot Rod magazine, engine edition, they tested a LQ4 with L92/L76 setup and a decent Crane Cam ONLY THOSE TWO MODS and the damn thing made something around 450 fwhp and crazy torque.
  4. They said local pickup only until I called them, then they were very interested in shipping it, even though they charged me 60 bucks :/ I didnt care. I REALLY wanted that dash, mines cracked all to hell.
  5. Or did I just get something that nobody wanted.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=021&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&viewitem=&item=310006830104&rd=1
  6. It was a well thought out project and oil pan was one thing that skimmed over my head, didn't really research it enough. I figured LS2 oil pan is an LS2 oil pan. JCI mounts, JTR headers and tranny mount, the rest of my mods and stuff I posted at the bottom of my first post on this thread.
  7. 1. The pan is a front sump and the front of the oil pan goes so far down you cant clear the crossmember even when dropping the crossmember about 6 inches. Ask me how I know. 2.The sump area hits the crossmember when trying to bolt motor up, even after you have pryed and wedged the engine in there for 7 hours. Anyone think I could use the truck pan? It clears, works, and all that. I dont know how much ground clearance though because it was 530am last night when i stopped working, had to get up for work at 8 Truck pan is rear sump and will work. Anyone have any reasons why not to use it?
  8. Yeah, about that damn LS2 oil pan. Everyone on every forum has said, "get the LS2 oil pan!!! It has teh greatar baffling and this and that........ I tried to fit that pile in there for 4 hours last night, not happening. It doesn't fit. Period.
  9. That was 6500 including the 1000 for the car also The kid went to all his freinds boasting about how he ripped me off soo badly. 1000 bucks for a virtually rustless, very sturdy platform that ran and drove fine? Looks like he took that one in the rear XD
  10. Funny that you ask.. I was planning an LT1 swap, not painting the car, and not T56ing it. Doing it on a very tight budget.... My buddy showed me a simple tune on a stock LQ4 and it really irritated me that I could supercharge the LT1 and almost make what the stock LQ4 TRUCK ENGINE made with ONLY A TUNE... So I sold my KTM 640 supermoto and started the venture.. Finished total should be about $6500 after factoring in everything you need just to do the swap and have a nice car to swap it in. I still have to buy (after that 6500) wheel tires suspension brakes yada yada yada
  11. LS1 intake and Truck throttle body is sitting on there right now, that pic is like a week old. Tranny is an 05 GTO T56 with a B&M precision sport shifter and the intake is ^^
  12. I haven't seen an LQ4 swapped S30 yet. How about all of you? - Heres mine so far - And to remember that about 2-3 months ago when I got it... Drove it home for a thousand bucks and just ripped into it. Im glad its coming along like it is. I know it seems crazy that I ripped into that body and welded the headlight buckets to the fenders and got rid of the side markers and all that crazy stuff, but it was actually for the sake of the car, as I had knocked on quite a few spots and they were of course bondoed. Took the time to replace all the sheetmetal that needed to be. Worth it in the end. Heres my mod list of parts that are sitting in my room or already on the car - 1977 Datsun 280Z - LQ4 6.0 (LS2 iron block) - sanderson headers - LS1 intake - W4MP tune - RAM lvl 3 HD clutch - 15 lb flywheel - T56 - B&M Precision Sport - LS2 oil pan - Full 3.5" Exhaust - Dynomax Bullits - Dynomax muffler - JTR aluminum radiator -
  13. So basically if I got a line with a -4AN male fitting on one end and the -3AN fitting on the slave side it would fit like butter? Ive already got the Russel clutch adapter. If that wont work, where can I get one of those -4AN to -3AN fittings for the slave? Im getting a used one and it doesn't come with that little fitting.
  14. So the size of the threads inside the tilton are -4AN? Reason I am asking is because If I get that hooked up tonight I can drop in LQ4/T56
  15. I work at a custom motorcycle shop and we have all the AN lines I could ever want. Im pretty sure its -3AN both sides with the top a 90* but I would just like to back this up. It was expensive as hell on jegs for one, but here its only going to cost about 35 bucks.
  16. Just kinda in a bind right now, does anyone know what exactly size AN fittings I would need to run a braided AN line on a Tilton master. Its running to a stock T56 Slave cylinder. Thanks guys. I had a line ordered on jegs but its backordered and forgot what size it is.
  17. Yes I quadruple checked everything, looked at pictures, all kinds of stuff. Nothing showed any different than what I was doing. Its the pass. side Z plate that fits over the stock motor mount tower and in the frame. Before I smashed it down, the bottom plate that goes in between the frame would hold the crossmember about 3/4'' away from the frame.
  18. I was installing my JCI LS1 mounts tonight and the passenger side mount that sandwiches in between the frame rail and crossmember, was bent about 25* wrong. Figured after hearing the good stuff about him that I would get basically a bolt up kit. Guess not. I had to bend it some in the vice, and I managed to bend it the rest of the way by slamming it in the sandwich area and sticking a longer bolt and nut in there to bring everything together. All in all it sucked and was definitely not right. Im trying to build a car, not be a guinea pig.
  19. Im using an LS1 intake. Already have the JTR headers, 05 GTO T56 tranny with B&M short shift, RAM lvl 3 clutch, fidanza flywheel, LQ4/LS1 intake tune, LS2 oil pan. Hoping for around 400 reliable horsepower with my setup. Ive done the research on the motor setup. These things can make awesome power for a VERY low price.
  20. I was planning on running a cable throttle. Dont tell me where Im throwin money. The trucks throttle body is a common upgrade on the LS1's, stock LS1 is 75mm and the trucks is 85mm. I think you need to "read up".
  21. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mini-sprint-Wilwood-Late-Model-Tilton-master-cylinder_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ107061QQihZ002QQitemZ120189293880QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW Lost the Tilton 3/4 on ebay to some last second bidder.. This one is a 15/16 and doesnt say what series.. will this work just as the other one would?
  22. Got the engine today, one thing I overlooked while thinking stuff through was the throttle body on the truck.. same as LS1? or do I need to scoop up one of those too.. The engine looked ok, dirty, but ok. There are 2 coil packs messed up, the circular tower part you plug the plug wire into, two of them have a peice chipped off of them, not sure If its going to be a concern.
